Should you be asked to design a tropical island paradise ,you would probably end up with something looking remarkably like Mauritius. Situated in the Indian Ocean between the Equator and the Tropic of Capricorn, Mauritius lies about 500 miles east of Madagascar. It is compact - just 720 square miles - has a population of 1.2 million and looks fabulous,all blinding white sandy beaches azure sea,nodding palm trees,wonderful wild flowers and gently rolling mountains.Just as impressive is the warmth of the local people,an extraordinary mix of Indians, Africans,Europeans and Chinese.The official language is English with a lot of people speaking French and Creole. The weather that befits a tropical paradise ,is nearly always heavenly.During summer, which runs from November To April ,you can expect temperatures to reach 35C in seaside places ;during the winter - May to October - they will hit 25C.
Aqua sur mer is a small newly built villa complex set in the small coastal village of Trou aux Biches this villa complex is set opposite the beach and Ocean so only takes under a minute to be on the beach or in the Ocean .The villa complex itself is a mixture of 10 villas (as you can see in pictures ) comprising of full villas and studio villas (studio villas are what we are offering for rental ) . The complex has a surrounding wall and gated and comes with night watchmen and day caretaker’s .The studio villa apartment that we are offering come with all the full facility’s a holiday apartment should have, a six day maid service, air conditioning, safe, and more . Trou-aux-Biches is by far one of the most sought after beach resorts in Mauritius it owes its popularity with discerning regular visitors mainly owing to its safe bathing for children,perfect conditions for snorkeling and diving (either in its lagoons or along its reefs) the friendly atmosphere its amazing fine silver sand and beautiful sunsets to be relished on the 2 mile long beach every evening.
Trou-aux-Biches boast numerous restaurantes,from the very popular snack-come-restaurant,where many tourists enjoy the local fare at local prices, to the gourmet restaurant all within easy reach by foot a cycle ride or a short bus ride. It also has the five star Trou-aux-Biches hotel situated down the beach,the facilities of which can be used for a small entrance fee ( pools,3 outstanding restaurant’s , beach bar, spar, gym, dive centre, and tennis courts ).There are also a number of other dive centers within walking distance of the villa offering a very high standard of diving in a safe environment.
Aqua sur mere is a modern small complex set a opposite the sea the large beach studio apartments are with pool facing balcony and views of the sea set in its own secure gardens in the north west of Mauritius on the famous Trou-aux-biches. Its also close (100m) to local shops and amenities. whilst being a short bus ride from the lively Grand baie area with its many restaurants bars boutiques local food stalls a good market and daily fish market where you can haggle for fresh fish

Exceptionally good value for money in comparison with a lot of self-catering properties in Mauritius. The property is modern, well-maintained, clean and with good facilities and with a maid service. The location is convenient walking distance from the beach and local shops. This is my second stay at Aqua sur Mer and would definitely book there again.
If self-catering in Mauritius, I would recommend hiring a car in order to get the most out of the island. However, local bus services are fine during the day.
For eating out locally, I would recommend Cabine de Pecheur which is located on the coastal road very close to the property. It is a roadside cabin with a couple of tables outside. It may not look like much, but the food is excellent and is cheap. For briyani, I recommend a man who parks up on the side of the road, further along the coastal road towards Pointe aux Piments (5 min walk) on Fridays (and sometimes other days). Roadside cabins are often very good - dont be put off my their appearance.
The local supermarket (Chez Popo) is walking distance from the property and has all your basic essentials. If you venture into Grand Baie there is a hypermarket (Super U) which has everything you can possibly imagine.
Its not worth shopping around much further than this property as its one of the most competitively priced and of an above average standard. Thanks to Abi and family and his staff for another great stay in Trou aux Biches.

Everything was beyond my expectations! The studio was even better than what was shown in the pictures I saw on the internet! The onwer was very nice and the service in general was very corteous! The only very small problem I could find was the TV, I know people that go to this kind of place dont usually spend a lot of time watching TV, but since I stayed for a long period of time it would have been nice to have a good TV every now. Acctualy, this is not a problem, Aqua sur mer is a very nice place. Thanks a lot.

A very nice apartment just a little bit far from the main area for restaurants and you definitely need a car if you stay here. The property was clean and comfortable except the bed was a little hard to say the least and a little bit too small. Needed a few more hangers as well. Having said all that we enjoyed our stay. The manager (Abi) acted promptly to replace the toaster which wasnt working and sorted out the hairdryer which I think we thought wasnt working but in fact we hadnt pressed the right button but he brought a replacement very quickly.
Good value for money and we would stay again if the bed was upgraded!

have to say we were pleased with the overall standard of the accomodation.very clean,well presented,every thing was there that was needed.the pool was nice,locatiom of complex was ok-not too far from main beach and centre of trou aux biches.abi was helpful-came to see us when we arrived to ensure we were ok and knew how to work everything and mylene was more than helpful with advice and little titbits of info-and made sure the pplace was spotless!our only issue was with the directions to locate the complex-forget 50 metres from the supermarket it is easily 500.the complex needs sign posting on the corner of Militiers rd-or at least let people know it is next to the scooba do? diving place,we drovepast 3 times b4 guessing where the complex was-we had to rely on our memory of pictures of the apartments to be sure we were in the right place.

Great apartment, superb value for money. Abi is cool and the apartment is very well maintained and serviced. Didnt use the pool, inviting though it looked, as with the proximity to one of the best beaches in Mauritius there really wasnt the time! Would definately stay again...its a bargain. You will enjoy it if you book it.

Aqua sur Mer is the place to stay in Mauritius! Its newly built, modern, clean, close to all required facilities (including the beach, supermarket, restaurants etc) yet a quiet little haven with a tropical garden of note.
It is definitely the most beautiful self catering appartments in Trou aux Biches and excellent value for money.
Dont think twice - book now! We will return in March 2010!
