Overview

The Silver Rose of Leadville was designed to be a house for entertaining and relaxing at the same time. The ultimate home away from home.

**Please note careful cleaning procedures are being followed to ensure that The Silver Rose is clean upon your arrival.

The kitchen is a full-service kitchen that has stainless steel appliances and an induction stove. It is equipped with cooking utensils, silverware, dishes, wine glasses, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, blender, rice cooker and really just about anything you need to cook. Coffee, tea, condiments, spices, and cooking oil are all provided.

The dining room table seats ten and was hand-crafted by the owner from a blue spruce from his family home.

The living room is exquisitely decorated and has a gas fireplace with an antique 1880s fireplace mantle.

Enjoy cozy and comfortable king beds in both the master bedroom and the second master. The third bedroom has queen bunk beds. The sheets are soft and the bedrooms are very quiet making for a great night's sleep.

Relax in the large clawfoot tub in the master bath after a day of skiing, biking, hiking, or whatever meets your adventuresome outdoor spirit. Or unwind differently by curling up to a good book, or catch up on the day’s news, in one of the two reading nooks tucked away at each of the stair landings. Each nook is conveniently equipped with USB ports.

The house has two (2) flat-screen TVs. One is in the second master bedroom and the other is in the TV room. Both TV’s require a ROKU account which is easy to set-up. There are some free channels available, otherwise, you can access HBO, Netflix, Prime Video, whatever you have an account with.

On the third floor is the pool room and a TV room. The TV room couch easily folds out into a full-size bed and has a memory foam mattress topper for super comfy sleeping. For overflow sleeping, (or where to put the one who snores), there is a twin size XL hideaway bed on wheels that can go anywhere on the 3rd floor. Please note that using these beds incurs an extra cleaning fee of $45 per guest/per night.

There is a one-stall garage for parking or storing your gear (a rarity for Leadville). In addition to the garage, there is onsite parking located on the east side of the property and street parking in front of the house.

The house has fast internet speed if you need to get some work done. But try not to work too hard.

As a guest, you have access to the entire house and the middle garage bay.

The Silver Rose is three blocks from downtown, where you’ll find restaurants, coffee shops, and other fine establishments, including The Silver Dollar Saloon. Established in 1879, The Silver Dollar is the second-oldest saloon in Colorado and was frequented by Doc Holliday, Molly Brown, and Oscar Wilde. Across the street from the saloon is The Tabor Opera House, another Leadville historical legend built in 1879 by mining magnate Horace Tabor. Also within walking distance is the Leadville Mineral Belt bike and ski trail, an 11.5-mile trail that surrounds the town of Leadville and posts markers along the route that describe the rich heritage of Leadville’s mining history.

My husband John and I fell in love with Leadville's unique mountain charm and rich history, and we knew we had to have a place here. Over two years, we built this home ourselves—spending every weekend working side by side with our two kids. It was truly a labor of love, and you can feel that care in every detail. When we're not sharing our home with guests, you'll find us using it as our basecamp for all the adventures this incredible area has to offer—hiking, biking, skiing, boating, and exploring everything the Colorado mountains have in store. For our day jobs, John builds houses for a living in Northern Colorado, and I work as a web product manager for a software company.
