Perfect for two, Thimble Cottage offers a romantic bolt-hole within the picturesque Derbyshire village of Youlgreave with a choice of three good pubs for a meal out and general stores for provisions.
Overview
Thimble Cottage is a beautifully appointed one bedroom cottage for two with woodburner, full upstairs bathroom and private off road parking (which is unusual for Derbyshire village cottages). The cottage also has an EV charger and small enclosed courtyard garden which is lovely for dining alfresco as well as being ideal for dogs.
The comfortable kingsize bed is adorned with 600 thread count Egyptian Cotton bedlinen and to continue the theme of luxury we also provide monogrammed towels and robes. In the sitting room you will find a large corner sofa for relaxing in the evenings in front of the woodburner and smart TV.
The cottage is heated throughout (underfloor in the sitting room and bathroom) so it's lovely and cosy in the winter months.
The cottage is located in the heart of the pretty Peak District village of Youlgreave. The 3 village pubs, pop up Italian restaurant and 3 general stores / bakery / cafe are all within easy strolling distance. There's even a cinema in the village hall.
We are dog friendly and there are many fabulous walks right from the doorstep which will tke you through the beautful Peak District landscape.
Thimble Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the many prime attractions of the Peak District including Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, as well as a lovely retreat for those who enjoy walking and cycling.

Hi, I’m Rachel. I’ve had the privilege of owning Thimble Cottage since 2001. Having been brought up in Sheffield, I spent a lot of my childhood exploring the Peak District and fell in love with it from an early age. I found that I spent a lot of time looking for well equipped and comfortable one bedroom cottages and realised that there was a gap in the market. We didn’t want to waste money renting bigger places that lacked coziness. We all spend so much time and energy at work that a comfortable bolt hole is essential. We aim to price competitively and any profits are put straight back into the cottage. This delights our regular visitors and ensures that we are keeping up to date with standards and quality. We hope that you will love the cottage as much as we do.
