Stayed for 3 nights this time as only booked as a last minute holiday, but would definitely stay again and for longer. Cottage is lovely, and very well equipped. It doesn’t have designated parking, but this was not a problem as always plenty of spaces to park on the bridge. It is in a good location and very central for exploring the area. The village has 2 pubs, both very good but different, one serves good food, and there is also an excellent bakery/cafe. Very enjoyable stay, and would certainly book this cottage again, and recommend to others.

Riverside cottage is a beautiful cottage with lots of character very comfortable with everything needed for relaxing stay. The welcome hamper was fantastic and much appreciated and reflects the care and thought the team put in to make your visit an enjoyable experience. The village is lovely, the residents are very welcoming the running fox and northumberland arms are a must for foodies. Central to everywhere it was a fantastic base to see the delights of northumberland.

Lovely cottage, welcome hamper from the running fox bakery was super tasty, ideal position to explore the beautiful countryside, outdoor area was small but did’nt detract from our stay, would highly recommend the Northumberland Arms which is a 1 minute walk away, would definitely stay again,

We very much enjoyed our week at Riverside Cottage. It was very clean and comfortable and in a lovely village with good amenities and walks on the doorstep. I hope to return.

Riverside Cottage was the perfect place for exploring Northumberland. Really well equipped, spotlessly clean with homely touches. Lovely location right by the river with country walks and a brilliant deli within a minute's walk. We needed to speak to the owner, Andrew, and he was responsive, helpful and courteous. Highly recommended.

"Best cottage ever" Kids booked this cottage as a Christmas present and their research certainly paid off. Everything was perfect from the location to the cottage itself. The thought that had gone into it by the owners was obvious including the lovely welcome hamper and an excellent guide handbook. Just off the A1 and minutes away by car to fantastic beaches. Our poodle loved it too with lovely walks just outside. Will definitely be returning.

"A marvellous base from which to explore the south of Northumberland" Riverside Cottage offers quality accommodation, perfect for a couple. All the amenities are there and especially helpful are the many laminated guidance notes for the electrical appliances, heating, TV etc. The location sits midway between coast and hill country, a mere 10 minute drive from the fine town of Alnwick. Directly outside the cottage is a most scenic bridge and stretch of the river Coquette. The most amazing artisan bakery and cafe is opposite.

"A little gem" Lovely cottage, well equipped and in a lovely position for the A1 making it easy to get out and about. Lots of lovely places to visit some with free parking, a rarity nowadays, beautiful beaches, good eating places, and a pleasure to drive around on the many somewhat empty roads, and if like us you did not want to drive every day there was an excellent bus service right on your doorstep. The cottage benefited from the Running Fox bakery across the road but we were thankful we only had a week otherwise we would have been a stone heavier than when we arrived, an amazing shop. All in all a lovely cottage in a lovely village surrounded by lovely countryside.
