Felton is lovely, only 15 mins from beautiful beaches and nice restaurants nearby.
The property was well equipped and had comfortable beds and great TVs! We really enjoyed the welcome hamper, thanks. The communication with owner via email was quick and efficient and the digital guide was really helpful.

We loved our first visit so much we booked to stay over Christmas. Christmas at Riverside Cottage was a delight. When we arrived the cottage had been decorated with lovely and welcoming Christmas touches.
Riverside Cottage is very comfortable, homely and furnished as a befits a lovely old cottage - full of character and charm. The kitchen is a wonderful space and any keen cook will be delighted by how well equipped it is. The beds are super comfortable and the bed linen and towels pristine. The cottage is set on the riverside between two peaceful villages. The Welcome hamper was wonderful, with cakes, scones, quiche slices, and a large sourdough loaf. There was milk in the fridge. Northumberland is full of history and we particularly enjoyed our second visit to Hadrian's Wall. We did not eat out but food at the Northumberland Arms, close to the cottage, looked good. We cannot recommend this gorgeous cottage more highly.

Excellent quiet village accommodation, with both a pub, cafe/bakery and shop very handy. Very comfortable beds and an ideal central location for visiting the lovely Northumberland coast line, it’s many castles and gardens and only 1 mile from the A1. Highly recommended 5 stars all round.

There are so many reasons to recommend this cottage. Firstly it is very comfortable, everything has been thought of. The welcome hamper comes from the lovely bakery across the road called the Running Fox which is truly wonderful. The cottage has 2 bedrooms with very comfortable beds, pillows and sheets. The kitchen is well equipped and has microwave and dishwasher.
Secondly, it is well located, perfect for exploring Northumberland. It is located about 6 miles from the coast at Amble and is within easy reach of Seahouses, Warkworth, Alnwick and Hadrians wall. The cottage is set in a beautiful little village of West Thirston, with the pretty River Coquet just across the street. The roads are quiet and there are dog walks available right outsid the door along the river. Dog towels are provided to rub down your dogs.
Thirdly it has 2 lovely pubs within 50 yards. Firstly the highly rated Northumberland arms is just a few doors away serving high quality food, is dog friendly and has lovely friendly staff. Across the street is the Foxes Den underneath the Running Fox which is where the local gather and it is as friendly and jovial a place as you could wish for. Again dogs are most welcome.
When our dog fell ill, we had an excellent vet in Alnwick who saw her on a Sunday and made her well again.
(Morris and Plumley).
We had lovely meals out in Amble at the Harbour Inn (dog friendly) and the Hermitage in Warkworth (also very dog friendly) as well as the Northumberland Arms. There is a general store/post office in the village for emergency provisions and good supermarkets at Alnwick.
The afternoon teas at the Running Fox are a must do, but just sitting in the suntrap in the back courtyard of the cottage was a treat.
Altogether a pleasant stay, unbelievable weather 25C+ every day and unbroken sunshine made this a special holiday, but this is a lovely cottage with decent parking and good amenities. Highly recommended

Extremely clean and we'll presented. The beds and bed linen were amazing! The welcome pack as really lovely. Everything was provided, like dish washer tablets, tinfoil, dog bowls and dog towels, camping chairs. Little details like sharp knives and a lovely crockery set, made it that much better. Location is superb. There is a big pub serving food, and a deli cafe. What we loved most in the village was the micro pub across the bridge. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel like locals. Needless to say we went there most evenings. So many sights to see within a 30 minute drive. We will definitely stay here again if you back up in Northumberland.

Stayed for 3 nights this time as only booked as a last minute holiday, but would definitely stay again and for longer. Cottage is lovely, and very well equipped. It doesn’t have designated parking, but this was not a problem as always plenty of spaces to park on the bridge. It is in a good location and very central for exploring the area. The village has 2 pubs, both very good but different, one serves good food, and there is also an excellent bakery/cafe. Very enjoyable stay, and would certainly book this cottage again, and recommend to others.

"Best cottage ever" Kids booked this cottage as a Christmas present and their research certainly paid off. Everything was perfect from the location to the cottage itself. The thought that had gone into it by the owners was obvious including the lovely welcome hamper and an excellent guide handbook. Just off the A1 and minutes away by car to fantastic beaches. Our poodle loved it too with lovely walks just outside. Will definitely be returning.

"A marvellous base from which to explore the south of Northumberland" Riverside Cottage offers quality accommodation, perfect for a couple. All the amenities are there and especially helpful are the many laminated guidance notes for the electrical appliances, heating, TV etc. The location sits midway between coast and hill country, a mere 10 minute drive from the fine town of Alnwick. Directly outside the cottage is a most scenic bridge and stretch of the river Coquette. The most amazing artisan bakery and cafe is opposite.

"A little gem" Lovely cottage, well equipped and in a lovely position for the A1 making it easy to get out and about. Lots of lovely places to visit some with free parking, a rarity nowadays, beautiful beaches, good eating places, and a pleasure to drive around on the many somewhat empty roads, and if like us you did not want to drive every day there was an excellent bus service right on your doorstep. The cottage benefited from the Running Fox bakery across the road but we were thankful we only had a week otherwise we would have been a stone heavier than when we arrived, an amazing shop. All in all a lovely cottage in a lovely village surrounded by lovely countryside.
