The Elizabethan village of Boscastle Harbour is the only natural harbour for 20 miles along the north Cornwall coast. A century ago, the area was a thriving port until the arrival of the railways. Explore the village, with its cottages clinging to the side of the Valency Valley, craft shops, gift shops, pubs and restaurants. Walk the cliffs or take the delightful path alongside the Valency river. St Juliot Church, restored by the 19th Century novelist Thomas Hardy, is just over a mile up the valley.

To the north of Tresparrett is the rugged north Cornish coast famed for stretches of National Trust cliff scenery of outstanding natural beauty, quaint former fishing villages and sandy family surfing beaches, such as Crackington Haven, Trebarwith, Bossiney, Widemouth Bay and Bude. Southwest of the property is the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, which are ideal for riding and walking. Running south are the hidden attractions of the Tamar Valley steeped in 17th / 18th-century mining history.

Many excellent coastal and inland walks, such as the Southwest coast path, are nearby. Numerous other attractions and activities catering for all tastes include sailing, boat trips, fishing, golfing, cycling, museums, industrial heritage, stately homes, preserved railways, plus many family attractions such as Flambards village theme park and the Eden Project for that memorable day trip.

The nearby towns of Camelford, Bude, Launceston and Wadebridge provide extensive shopping, social, and leisure facilities. In addition, significant locations such as Truro, Plymouth and St Austell are within a 40-mile radius.
