River View - Luxury Holiday Home At Westcliffe House, Rothbury

House vwry comfortable and locality excellent. Well set up for families and dogs. Lots to see within an hours radius.

This was our 3rd visit to River View (we have also stayed in Coquet View, the upstairs front flat). As on previous visits, we found it very well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and we greatly appreciated the various food items left for us as a 'welcome pack'. Having a good quantity of children's unbreakable plates/cups/cutlery, and a nice selection of toys, was very useful for our 2 young grandsons. Using the keysafe to access the property is very helpful, especially for a family group when different members want to go out at different times. As we have mentioned before the house is comfortably furnished, very spacious, and has fantastic views. Previous visits have been in the summer, but we need not have been concerned about going at a cooler time of year - the house was always snug. An added bonus was that the weather was warm and sunny almost every day! Lots to see and do in the area and reassuring to see that the majority of the independent shops are still in business. The Co-op's move to a new site is a vast improvement in space/layout of the store! We had a wonderful stay and expect to be back for more......

River View was an enjoyable place to stay for the weekend. It has been well furnished & decorated and is clean & tidy.
The kitchen was a joy to use and the food items left for us were a treat, thank you. The views out the window across the valley are amazing & particularly good from the upstairs bedroom. Although about a mile outside Rothbury it's a pleasant, easy walk down into town. We enjoyed sandwiches from the bakery & ate one evening at the Turks Head. A couple of establishments mentioned in the guidebook are no longer in business.
We found the accommodation quiet & comfortable although the beds were rather firm. We were disappointed at the lack of a shower in the en suite bathroom (although one is pictured in the photos) so the 4 of us had to use the shower in the downstairs bathroom. It'd be more of an issue if the house had 6 occupants. If you can cope with that, I'd definitely recommend River View as a place to stay.

This was the best self-catering property we have stayed in. Everything was first class. The kitchen had everything you could want, plenty of cooking utensils, lots of cups, glasses, cutlery. We were blessed with good weather and sat outside having our breakfast on several days. Overall it was just perfect and we will hopefully return in the future. Thank you/

Excellent, newly refurbished and well equipped in a lovely rural location. Great empty beaches and wild landscapes.

Just had a week's stay at river cottage and could have stayed much longer. The property is spacious and comfortable. No attention to detail has been spared. The lounge and bedrooms are cozy and warm, beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean and equipped with hand soap and hand softener. The kitchen is fantastically well equipped with high end appliances and lots of little extras. I really appreciated not having to buy dish soap, condiments and tea and coffee. The welcome package was also much appreciated. River View is ideally situated for visiting a multitude of attractions with the added attraction of a quiet rural retreat. Peter (the owner) was very helpful. Totally in love with this property and can't wait to visit again with the family.
