Great place to stay and central for Criccieth centre, beach, castle, shops, Dylan’s a 5-10 minute walk, also train station across the road for day trips to Porthmadog and Barmouth. The property is spacious and well equipped, the owners live below and where very accommodating letting us bring an extra dog and also flexible with check in and out. The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were clean as were the towels, bedding and kitchen equipment. The spiral stair case wouldn’t be suitable for children or infirm. Overall we felt the whole place could do with a deep clean as there was lots of cobwebs everywhere you looked and also the windows needed a good clean as did the window bottoms. The entrance area could also do with a clean and brightening up as not very welcoming on arrival. Felt like the place needs a bit of TLC having said that we all enjoyed our stay in this amazing building.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We’re really pleased you enjoyed the location, the spaciousness of the property, and the facilities, and that our flexibility with check‑in, check‑out and the extra dog helped make your stay even easier

As the building is Grade II listed, the very high ceilings and original stonework can mean cobwebs appear quickly even after a full clean. That said, we always want the space to feel its best, so we genuinely appreciate the feedback. We do wish you had mentioned it during your stay, as we live on-site and would have happily come up to sort anything immediately

Thank you also for highlighting the clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, towels and bedding — our housekeeping team will be glad to hear that. We’ve taken on board your comments about the entrance area and windows, and we’re already planning some extra TLC to keep everything as welcoming as possible

Thank you again for your review. We’re glad you selected “Party type: Friends”, as this is exactly the type of group the property is intended for.
Just to clarify for future guests: the property is not suitable for large party groups, drinking groups, or event‑style stays. This is stated clearly in the listing, and we maintain this policy to protect both the building and the comfort of our neighbours.
