We had an amazing time at this amazing property, the owners, were so welcoming, attentive but not intrusive. The accommodation is lovely in a delightful setting. the facilities were fully exploited by my two grandchildren aged 11 and 12, real opportunities to explore with and without adult company. sleep over in a mini caravan yes please,, kayaking on The Alde, open water swimming it is all at Beaver Cottage and much much more. I could easily go on my own for the peace and quiet this venue affords, but the children would be devastated. The bonus of having the companionship of Jess, the owner's dog, for walks down to the river was the icing on the top of this wonderful cake. Many many thanks we will be back

Beaver Cottage is in a superb peaceful location with extensive grounds that you are free to roam at your leisure. A short walk through the grounds takes you down to the river from where you can walk into Aldeburgh (about 50 mins). A walk down the main road takes about 30 mins to the beach. The owners live in the house attached to the cottage but are by no means intrusive. Recommendations on places to eat were useful...The fish and chips are a must but be prepared to queue. Munchies do a superb breakfast which will set you up for the day. There is a small private garden (with gate) which is ideal for families with small children. When wandering the grounds many different birds can be seen and it was common to see rabbits outside the cottage in a morning breakfasting on the grass.

Overall Beaver Cottage provided excellent accommodation and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Wonderful accommodation, fabulous views and grounds leading to the estuary and Aldeburgh. Tony and Debbie were most welcoming and helpful. Would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay despite freezing weather, snow, ice and a ferocious east wind. We did not move the cars for a whole week. Snow drifts blocked surrounding roads and the trains were not running. However we were very peaceful, warm, comfortable and in beautiful surroundings, even if the weather was a bit wild! Tony and Debbie could not have been more helpful and their dog even took himself off for a walk with me one day.
Thank you. hopefully next year we shall have a 'Spring' holiday over 1 March, which is actually the official first day of Spring, though this year it was about -5 and there were ice floes on the estuary.

The cottage was perfect for our needs, which was to enjoy country walks from the cottage with the dog. It was great to have use of the owners grounds - the views are exceptional over the estuary. Tony and Debbie were very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive.

We had a thoroughly marvellous time at Beaver Cottage. Debbie and Tony could not have been more helpful and friendly (offering us the use of their own freezer as the cottage fridge/freezer could not cope with our dogs frozen meat!) and Jesse the dog became firm friends with our 2 whippets, coming for walks with us around the vast grounds. We were lucky enough to be there for three weeks so the cottage became home. It had just about everything needed for our convenience. The modern kitchen and bathroom are very stylish. The beds comfortable and linens of great quality. We did have a quick chat with Debbie and Tony to give them feedback about some things which affected us (due to us being there for an extended time) which would not normally be an issue at all for anyone staying for a week or two. For example we had loads of clothes to cover all weather conditions and we could really have done with more storage space. I used the wardrobe in the master bedroom and my husband (and a couple of friends who came for five days) used the hanging rail in the single room. If all three bedrooms had been in use we would have struggled for hanging space. I know Debbie is looking to see if another wardrobe could be accommodated in one of the other bedrooms. We could also have done with more saucepans as we did have to cook being there for three weeks. That said, we managed and everything was absolutely fabulous. The grounds are to die for, especially if you have children and/or dogs. There are many nooks and crannies with seating such as the gypsy caravan, the summer house and the wooden gazebo. You have the use of kayaks on the lovely atmospheric river Alde at the bottom of the garden. We picked huge parasol mushrooms and made soup, we picked apples from the orchard and made blackberry and apple pie. It’s a forager’s dream. The Aldeburgh area was beautiful, not commercialised at all and many of the fabulous local restaurants allowed our dogs in. The smokeries on the beach were a regular ‘go to’ for us. The walk into Thorpeness we did regularly and thoroughly enjoyed it. We did all the usual trips to Southwold, Framlingham Castle, Orford etc. We were also fortunate enough to be there for the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival at Snape Maltings which is highly recommended. We will definitely return and are missing Debbie, Tony and Jesse very much already. We were made to feel like family.

On arrival we were made to feel most welcome, the cottage was cosy and the gardens beautiful. The children were asked if they would like to feed the chickens in the morning an experience they had never had before. We have already recommended this experience to friends and will definatly be back. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this is definatly the place for you.

Can we book again for next year please? This is our 4th visit and again we had a wonderful time. Thank you for letting us borrow your kayak. Mr and Mrs C. CambridgeWe first came to Beaver Cottage in 2005 and this is our third visit. We love it here and hope to be back in 2008. Mr and Mrs S Biggleswade.
