The Complex
The complex is extremely private it consists of only 20 properties! This ensures that the pool complete with its own childrens paddling pool is never over-crowded. At the poolside there are sunloungers for the use of guests. There will be pool accessories provided for the use of guest left inside the property. The pool and gardens are beautifully maintained by our resident Caretaker, Murat, who has just won the 2011 award for the best kept apartment garden garden complex in the area.

In and Around Mavisehir
Less than 5 minues walk away from the complex you will find the small picturesque fishing harbour of Mavisehir. In Mavisehir there are swimming platforms, sandy beach, outdoor seating areas and many open air restaraunts. Later in the evening this is the place to watch the spectacular sunsets. There is a daily market in Mavisehir where you can buy anything from fruit and veg to designer t-shirts! There is also a small grocery shop around the corner from the complex. There are also a couple of small supermarkets at the end of the waterfront in Mavisehir.

Fantastic apartment, very spacious and well equipped. Beautiful gardens and peaceful pool. Owner very helpful and quick to respond. Found some great beaches nearby, kids loved the aqua park and the boat trips from Altinkum are a great day out and good value. Highly recommend this apartment.

This is a really amazing Villa
We arrived at night so we could only explore the inside which was absolutely fantastic. Three bedrooms three bathrooms. Clean and tidy.

The next morning we discovered the true wonder of the building which was the grounds. The most wonderfully kept (award winning) gardens and pool. There are 16 apartments but the pool was always quiet often with only us in. The local residents are a mixture of local and expats and were all really friendly. The caretaker MURAT was excellent and even though we arrived late he greeted us and helped us settle in.

The booking process was quick and simple and the instructions from the owner were excellent. We had email correspondence with her prior to departure and all our questions were answered quickly.

The local town is a very easy 5 minute walk and the beach half that. We preferred another beach about a 15 minute walk around the headland although in August heat this can be a little bit demanding (had to stop at Jimmys bar on the way there and back)

Good selec tion of restaurants at reasonable prices (about £8 a head) and the waiters were all very friendly. Some English people can be put off by them trying to get you to come into their restaurant but a smile and maybe tomorrow comment means they will leave you alone

There is an excellent night market in the local town open til 11pm (although I never knew it to be shut anytime of day) there are the usual selec tion of stalls for clothes, presents etc plus excellent fruit and vegetable stalls that sell the usual and unusual. The whole market sells counterfeit goods that look the part but you have to haggle.

Turkish people are really pleasant and friendly. They recognise that you are their guests in their country. Everyone we met was relly proud to be Turkish

Some things you have to do.

Local bus into ALTINKUM which is the resort part of DIDIM. Buses are cheap (about £1 a trip) and plentiful. (Never run to catch a bus there will be another one in 5 minutes) Dont look for bus stops they will pick you up anywhere just stick out a hand. The conductors speak enough English to take you £1 and tell you where to get off. Just walk to the market and ride from there to wherever you want.
Boat trip from ALTINKUM, 6 hours on a boat that stops in 4 or 5 bays. dro ps anchor and you just jump in. Ice cream vans Turkey style are speed boats that follow the fleet around. The boat trip cost £10 per person and includes lunch. Take plenty of water though the drinks can be expensive.
Trip to Sirence and Kusadassi. Bit of a trek by coach but picturesue village with opportunities to buy the local produce then a visit to bird island.
Day trip to KOS. £20 a head bit of an early start but well worth the experience. Also get to buy duty free (some drinks can be expensivein Turkish bars spirits etc luckily cold beer is cheap)

Take some English money. Trips are cheaper if you pay in sterling. Remember to take your £10 visa money which you had to pay at the airport.

Some things not recommended.
Booking your airport transport through MAXI TOURS. They are the cheapest for a reason. Our journey started with a massive argument amongst the staff. They are so cheap that they dont pay the parking at the airport so you have to walk out of the airport cross several roads and then run the gauntlet of the local police who move them on. We thought we were on our way several times but all we did for the first hour was drive off the road we were parked on circle the airport then stop again in the same spot until moved on again by the armed police. We then had an hour and half journey from hell as he tried to catch up time. Turkish driving is not good but this was the worst we experienced. On top of that the driver ripped us off by demanding payment for the return trip. Needless to say when we went in to confirm our return there was no mention of our having paid. We complained and got nowhere everybody knew what had happenned but we didnt get our money back. Luckily for us we had made a good contact with SABA tours and they got us back to the airport for £50 in a large airconditioned bus.
However, even that could not dampen our first holiday to Turkey and we would definately love to go back and especially if we could stay at Villa Kanye - we named it our little bit of Paradise!!

what an end to what seemed an endless journey - the site what greeted us was excellent a real home from home. The complex was small and could not have been friendlier with residents going out of their way to make you feel welcome. The pool was excellent - right outside the door and was kept immacualte by the resident handyman. We took advantage of the free dolmus which stopped just outside to take us to and from the large supermarket and often took the lovely stroll along the nearby waterfront to catch the dolmus to altinkum.

I would not hesitate in recommending this property to anyone

It was fantastic - would love to go back

I would recommend this apartment for both families and couples alike. Its location was perfect ,just a couple of minutes away from the sea. We even had a great sea view from our bedroom balcony!! The apartment was very clean and spacious, and the pool was beautiful. The local people in Mavisehir were very friendly and the restaurant prices were very cheap, even more so than nearby Altinkum. We had lots of day trips out, the ferry trip to Bodrum was very enjoyable and the trip to Euphesus should not be missed.
