Overview
Found in the peaceful and charming area of Ovacik, this magnificent detached apartmnent is the ideal choice for a family looking for a quiet area in one of the most popular areas for rent a apartment in Ovacık Olüdeniz
This apartment is a 2 Bedroom first floor apartment on a terraced complex shared with 13 other apartments and is on the border of Ovacik & Hisaronu.
This apartment is very well situated being just a 5 minute stroll to Hisaronu and a 10 to 15 minute drive to Oludeniz which is famous for its Blue Lagoon and World class sport of Paragliding. The nearest Town is Fethiye, which is open 24/7 and has a very cosmopolitan vibe with many shops, cafes and restaurants looking out to sea. Here you can book your boat trip or visit the old town which is home to the oldest Hamam (Turkish Bath) in the region.
The apartment is light, bright and airy. It has an open plan living room and kitchen with everything you need for a comfortable home from home holiday. Each room has a private balcony, and the bedroom and living room balconies look out over the communal pool area and gardens.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ozalp apartment. Ideally situated on the outskirts of Hisaronu, about a 20-minute downhill walk to town. If it's too hot to walk, the dolmus stops right by the apartments or call a taxi from just outside the gate. The pool area is clean and well maintained, with each apartment having its own sunbeds and parasol. It has a modern, well equipped kitchen and a lovely terrace overlooking the pool and beyond to the mountains. We booked this apartment two years ago but were obviously unable to travel due to covid restrictions. The owners were very accommodating in letting us carry the booking over. It was well worth the wait. The apartment would benefit from having an information pack with the Wi-Fi password and some details about the local area. If I had been a first time visitor this would have been useful. Something else to note....if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. The apartment is very close to the local mosque!

We know the Ovacik area well so we knew what to expect from the town when we arrived. I always spend a long time reviewing the available apartments before I book and I finally settled on this. We were not disappointed. The build quality of the apartment is higher than most Turkish buildings. We had a spacious two bedroom 2nd floor apartment. A proper double bed for us and a room with two singles for the kids. The balcony is small but not overly so and faces out the sunset over Hisaronu (spectacular photos as the sun goes down) Everything was clean, tidy and in working order, the shower was one of the best we've had in Turkey and didn't run cold half way through. While the apartment complex has WIFI it is so slow as to be almost non existent, we used our roaming allowance instead where needed. But you don't go to Turkey to browse the internet. It has one large freestyle pool which is absolutely glorious, each apartment seems to have its own allowance of lounges and shades. There is also one small child's pool, shallow, circular and about 2.5 metres in diameter, ideal for up to toddler age but our 5 year old was in the main pool most of the time.
Restaurants, using the back street and cutting through Azda car park your withing five minutes of 15-20 restaurants downtown or 10 uptown. We tended to base ourselves at Pasha's which, if you go in the Turkish side you get to eat sitting on cushions at a low table. Beautiful food, reasonably priced but well worth considering booking in advance if you go at the busier times.
Shops. there are small convenience stores dotted everywhere, a Sok literally a minute away (Sok's don't sell alcohol though) or for big shops the aforementioned Azda five minutes away.
Beaches, this part of Turkey has pebble beaches rather than the sandy ones of Kusadasi, the best one withing reach (10 minute drive or 15-20 by the very frequent dolmus sardine cans) is Olu Deniz. Would recommend using the standard public beach rather than the over hyped lagoon which is overcrowded, overpriced and takes ages to get in and out of the car park. Unless you take the trouble of trekking all the way round the back the scenery is the same as the public beach.
What else to do.....There is a small reasonably priced water park in Ovacik itself, we visited several times, £35 for a family of 4. not full of massive thrill rides but our five and twelve year old wanted to go back several times so that speaks for itself. Food reasonably priced as is the beer and a nice place to spend a chilling afternoon.
There is also a well established funfair in Hisaronu that's expanded massively since we first started going in 2012, plenty of rides for all ages and a good way of spending a family evening.
For history buffs (like us) would recommend renting a car (local Turkish rather than big chain at £230 for the 15 days) as there are plenty of ancient sites and reuined cities within an hours drive.
One last thing, Saklikent gorge is a must do, an hour or so's drive away it is a glacial valley where you can paddle in the freezing waters, go ringo rafting or sit by the river and watch the world go by.
Plus with the way the Turkish Lira is, once you get there (ignoring the cost of flights) it's not over expensive to do anything or buy local crafts/souvenirs (we ended up blowing a fortune at Fethiye bazaar on Turkish delight, traditional hanging lamps and other stuff)
