Overview

Welcome to our home. The recently completed penthouse ( * not suitable for people with mobility issues) is on the top floor of our detached villa. It has a double bedroom, with a queen sized bed and the bedroom door is lockable. The bathroom has a shower, a toilet and washbasin, you also have use of the ground floor toilet. The large, bright lounge area has a sofa, TV and a breakfast bar.. The kitchen area offers a fridge, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker/grill, 2 ring electric hob and a kettle, and to get you started, you’ll receive a free welcome pack. You’ll also have the use of our washing machine during your stay. There’s no need to bring towels including beach towels, as we have those for you. The Penthouse has a good-sized sunny terrace with mountain views, where you can sit and watch the sunrise with your morning coffee or sit and chill with an evening glass of wine. You are very welcome to join us, along with our cat and dog, (as seen in the photos) in our garden for a chat, or use the plunge pool, which will be open until late should you decide to take an evening dip with a cocktail, (we dont include cocktails, but we do include plastic glasses😁). Or maybe you’ll prefer to sit in one of the many shady seating areas in the garden reading a book. If we can be of any help, just ask. We’re usually around to answer questions, sort tours, taxis and transfers.
During your stay, there are lots of activities available. Spend a relaxing day sailing around the bays of the gulf of Fethiye. Explore islands and swim in the azure waters. Enjoy a delicious lunch cooked on board. Maybe enjoy a romantic sunset boat tour with dinner included. Watch the sunset or take a twilight dip in the warm waters. Calis water taxi is a great way to travel for an evening out in Fethiye. The scenic trip out of the canal to the sea takes 30 minutes. Take in the views of the park and Fethiye from a different angle. A trip on the cable car is a must. You’ll get the best views of the Blue Lagoon from the top of Babadag, maybe dine there whilst watching the paragliders take off. For adrenalin junkies, why not be the one leaping off Babadag? Take a once in a lifetime experience with a tandem pilot from the gentle slope of the mountain. The flight gives you breathtaking views of Oludeniz and Hisaronu. Sit back whilst your pilot does all the hard work and enjoy the experience or for a fun-filled day, rafting at Saklikent Gorge or along the Dalaman river, takes you through creeks, canyons and rapids, especially for those of you of an adventurous spirit. Why not take a sunset horse ride through the forest and along the beach, where your horse will take you into the sea. A memory that will remain with you forever. Calis is known not only for its fabulous sunsets but also for its cooling summer breeze, so for those of you who fancy giving kite surfing or wind surfing a go, this is the place to be, though if you’re anything like us, you’ll prefer to sit with a drink and watch the kite surfers put on their show of skills. Do you fancy a muddy, fun packed day, deep in the forest with no traffic and no roads? Then head out on a quad bike safari, a fun day filled with hidden surprises, or for those of you looking for a more relaxing time, a Turkish bath must be on your wish list. Lying on warm marble slabs, you’ll get the best detox, a deep-thorough scrub and a soothing soap massage. If markets are your thing, Calis has an excellent one on a Sunday. Grab your genuine fake clothes, trainers and bags. When you’re all shopped out, sit at one of the many market cafes and enjoy a gozleme, cay or fruit juice and watch the world go by. Alternatively, head into Fethiye for the larger market which is held every Tuesday.
Calis is flat and ideal for walking and cycling. A cycle path runs from Calis all the way into the bustling town of Fethiye with its bazaars, old town, shops and charming restaurants. The path takes you through the award-winning Sehit Fethi Bey Park and along the seafront with its huge array of bars and restaurants. The path ends in the harbour in Fethiye, where you can sit and enjoy a well-earned drink.
For those of you wanting to visit during the winter months, when the sun still shines but there is snow on the mountains, Calis takes on a different feel. The bustle of tourists has gone and a slower, relaxed pace kicks in. Yerguzler Caddesi, a 10-minute walk away, remains open all year round. Here you’ll find supermarkets, bars, restaurants, coffee shops and a gym. Several restaurants on Calis beach front remain open, who have fire pits burning during the cold evenings, giving it a whole new atmosphere. It’s our favourite time of year, when the intense summer heat has gone, and we can go for long walks with the rambling group to enjoy the surrounding countryside and wildlife.

  • PLEASE NOTE. THE ACCOMODATION IS NOT SUTABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES AS THERE IS NO ELAVATOR.

  • SMOKING STRICLY PROHIBITED 🚫

  • Although we are in a quiet residential area, occasionally you'll hear music from a Turkish wedding.

Booked this apartment at short notice due a change in our holiday arrangements whilst in Turkey, and to be honest it exceeded our expectations.
We arrived early and our hosts, Anthony and Susan could not have been more welcoming. They showed us around the apartment which in our opinion is stunning, and there was also a lovely welcoming pack consisting of the basics you need to get you started.
We were given some great recommendations for places to visit and to eat. We were also very surprised at the number of restaurants that were open for the time of year, we'd certainly recommend the area for a lovely out of season break. Everything was within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance but we also took a trip to Fethiye using local transport, spent the evening there at the Old Town, the market place is amazing.
Nothing was too much trouble for Anthony and Susan always available for advice. Would certainly recommend this beautiful apartment and we will be back.
Thank you both for making our short stay such an enjoyable experience.
Regards
John & Mary

We had a fabulous stay in the apartment and would certainly recommend this place. We just wish we had time to stay longer. It was immaculate and very clean and the best free welcome pack ever, of fruit, bread, cold meat, juice, tea and coffee, etc. Loved the fact that we had everything we needed, and it was a 15-minute stroll to the front and all the restaurants. The owners were very accommodating and helpful, even took us shopping when they went, to save us carrying heavy bags, that said, it was probably only a 10 minute walk anyway. Loved being greeted by Pepsi (the dog), and we're already looking for flights to come back in summer.
Excellent value for money, compared to other fabulous accommodation we've stayed in.

Public review We really enjoyed our stay! Susan and Anthony were the best airbnb hosts!! They were friendly, considerate and exceptionally generous. They are clearly committed to providing a positive experience for their guests. We were welcomed with a basket of fruit, as well as coffee, tea, milk, bread and other goodies. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of their home, yet it feels very private and peaceful. The apartment was spotlessly clean, cozy and inviting. The kitchenette items were in excellent condition - including sharp knives (which you don't often find in airbnb's). We had our own outdoor terrace with comfortable seating, a sun umbrella and views of the surrounding hills and mountains. They also had a beautiful garden which we relaxed in. Their home is in a quiet residential area. The walk to the beach, markets and restaurants is only about 10 or 15 short minutes away. We would highly recommend this gem of an apartment.

! Paul United Kingdom Paul Rating, 5 stars ,· 3 weeks ago ,· Stayed a few nights Already coming back next year. This is the first time we’ve used an Airbnb and was a little apprehensive about sharing someone’s home, but the apartment is totally private, that said, we spent a fair amount of time chatting with the hosts. They really did make our stay special. The supermarkets are very close, only a 10 minute walk away and the restaurants and sea front a 15 minute walk. The views from the terrace are amazing. We enjoyed relaxing in the evening looking across at the mountains. The location of the apartment is perfect and would highly recommend it. We would like to thank Susan and Anthony for making our stay so memorable. They are the perfect hosts, approachable and happy to share their knowledge of the area. Already planning our next visit. See you soon. Response from Susan 2 weeks ago Susan Thank you so much guys for your lovely review. We loved that you enjoyed spending time with us, ( though we wonder if Pepsi was the real pull 😉). You are both great company and we're so looking forward to welcoming you back, and for longer too! There is so much more to do, we only managed to scratch the surface. See you next year! Show more

Brendan Mar 2024

United Kingdom Brendan Rating, 5 stars ,· March 2024 ,· Stayed a few nights The penthouse was on the top floor of Susan and her husbands property. It had lovely views we could see the sun over the snow topped mountains from the terrace. It was very nicely decorated too with trinkets from their travels! The shower they had was amazing! We didn't make use of the jacuzzi with it being March, but having visited Turkey in summer we can imagine it will be lovely! Weather was lovely and sunny in the day, remember a jacket for cooler evening walks though There was a starter basket of supplies, and they also took us to the local shops to stock up and shared lots of local knowledge with recommendations. She taught us some Turkish phrases too. They had the best doggie ever (Pepsi) and Tom cat who loved attention. Everything we needed was in walking distance. We were one of the first couples to stay here as the penthouse is newly converted and would definitely say get a stay in while the cost is so low, it is an excellent value for money! We hope to rebook for summer! Response from Susan March 2024 Susan Thank you so much for your fabulous review, Brendan! You were both the perfect guests. We'd love to welcome you back to continue the Turkish lessons. Seriously, thank you. We couldn't have asked for better guests.

Aimee Chatburn, United Kingdom Aimee Rating, 5 stars ,· 3 weeks ago ,· Stayed a few nights Susan and Tony have a lovely home, and they went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Their apartment is superb, and as its on the top floor it had amazing views of the hills and snow capped mountains. We found the kitchen area great for making snacks as we didn't want to eat out all the time, and the welcome pack was perfect. It meant we didn't have to go out shopping straightaway. Calis Beach is a short walk, maybe 15-20 minutes and there's lots of lovely bars and restaurants to enjoy. We highly recommend the apartment, I said I could happily live there. It had everything and was so homely. Looking forward to a return visit. Response from Susan 3 weeks ago Susan It was a pleasure to meet you both, you were the perfect guests and thank you for your kind words. We'd love to see you again soon. Hope your journey home went well. 😁

We bought our property 2018, but we fell in love with Türkiye in 2010 when we left a very snowy UK to start a new life here. We first visited Çalış around 2012 during the winter months, and we were blown away by the snow capped mountains, the blue skies, buzz of Fethiye and the laidback pace of Çalış. We chose to live in Çalış because as Phil and Kirsty say, ' Location, Location, Location'. We walk or cycle to most places. Everything is a stones throw away, and we love the canal walks in this semi rural location.
