Casa Sofia, Velez Malaga

Villa with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and private pool in Vélez-Málaga, Spain

From £500 per week

Beautiful, superbly located villa just six minutes drive to the beach and two minutes from the centre of Velez. Set in three acres of private grounds.

Overview

Casa Sofia is an ideal holiday home. Just off the main road and 5 minutes from Velez-Malaga, where there are reputed to be more than 100 hundred Tapas bars. The location of the villa has that wonderful coupling of two worlds. Set amid a magnificent rolling landscape from which one can see all of Spanish topography at its finest, for miles around, as well as Africa on a clear day. The sky at night at Casa Sofia is certainly a shepherd’s delight sandwiched between the stars that appear in abundance here and the dazzling view from below. This tranquility is met, a short car drive away, with the town of Velez Malaga. A way of life long forgotten.

Villa has 3 bedrooms , each Double has air conditioning, Twin room has ceiling fan.

Although bustling with every day Spanish life, it is less touristy than one of the well known port towns. We have found this endearing and the locals kind and welcoming, like England used to be years ago.
Near enough but far enough away from the world
Although having visited Velez on numerous occasions, each time offers something new, be it another restaurant, another shop, another beautiful church, another friendly face…there is always something to discover. And if a change of scene is desired, one can visit nearby Nerja, Frigliana, Torrox or even Granada which is only a one and a half hour drive and that includes Snow Skiing. Casa Sofia is ideally located as a central point to explore and enjoy Southern Spain. Please note that a car is essential.

If some serious shopping is on the agenda, El Ingenio – the air conditioned centre – includes the large supermarket Eroski, a wide variety of shops including Zara, Mango and Dunne’s Stores and several restaurants, cafés and a cinema. Across the road is a water attraction park and a little further is Torre del Mar which is another delightful town to discover all in itself.

We had an absolutely great time staying at Casa Sofia, this was our 2nd visit and would highly recommend the villa to anyone. The pool is fantastic and was used all the time, the villa was spotlessly clean and tidy and there were ample pool towels. There was everything there that you could possibly need, so apart from getting some shopping you have no need to get anything else.

Dane the owner is great and very responsive to any queries that you may have and always responds very quickly. We are looking to be able to book again for next year.

This was our second time staying at Casa Sophia ! It is a clean and Spacious villa equipped with everything you require for a family holiday. The outside area is spacious and the views are just breathtaking right down to the coast, with plenty of seating areas to take it all in .The pool is clean and a great size, it was cleaned during our week stay .We love this region of Spain and have stayed in numerous properties but the easy access and location of this villa is hard to beat. There are no dirt tracks or scary roads to navigate! 10 minutes you can reach beaches.supermarkets and some lovely restaurants and bars. .Dane the owner could not have been more helpful he was very responsive to our messages and very accommodating when we required early check-in. Everything was perfect and we had a truly fantastic holiday . We keep returning so that says it all!

Fantastic location, amazing views and a great villa with a large pool. Very private and spacious. The owner could not have been any more helpful, their communications and flexibilty was so appreciated. I'd definitely recommend for a great family holiday exploring Andalucia ... we are already planning our return visit!

This villa is simply wonderful. It is spacious and very well maintained but its greatest asset is the outside space. Beautiful views, we spent many evenings looking at the twinkling lights of the city in the distance and watching shooting stars. The pool is large and extremely well maintained. The property is only a short drive to the main town of Velez Malaga, the El Ingenio shopping mall and the seaside town of Torre de Mar. We loved everything about this villa and would go back in a heartbeat.

Casa Sofia and its owners were brilliant. I cannot fault a single thing. Our flight from Southampton UK was delayed by 5.5hrs and our plan to arrive in daylight with enough time to go food shopping etc was dashed. It was a pretty stressful start to the holidays. Our children's faces when we arrived at the Casa Sofia helped make up for our delayed flight though. Everything about this place is awesome. Communication with owners was very easy, prompt, clear and welcoming. Almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep this Villa a secret ;-) Thank you team Casa Sofia.

Despite having a wide variety of restaurants, it is also nice to try out your own culinary skills with the local produce by visiting the lively indoor market at the part of Velez, after having been for a delicious omelette and tomato baguette and fresher-than-fresh-ly squeezed orange juice at Antonio’s next door. Please note that a car is essential.
