San Rafael is dominated by a late 18th-century church and boasts impressive views of Ibiza Town. Foodies can enjoy culinary karma at the string of restaurants, and creatives will be delighted by the beautiful handmade ceramics and pottery on sale.

San Rafael has been declared the only artisan zone in Ibiza. Santa Gertrudis, likewise, has an excellent choice of restaurants and bars and is steeped in tradition with charming whitewashed houses, a gorgeous central plaza and a Bohemian style of living with many artists, and sculptors and musicians making it their home.

Bedroom 2 has the option of twin beds or a king bed with the beds next to each other, terrace access with garden views and a shared bathroom with the master.

There are three further bedrooms in the main house with kingsize beds that boast immaculate, modern en-suite bathrooms with both baths and showers. The sixth bedroom is a separate guest house. It has a beautiful en-suite bathroom and a kingsize bed. The villa also has some staff accommodation if required.

The landscaped gardens are incredible, with majestic palms, colourful bougainvillaea, and Mediterranean plants and shrubs interspersed with the occasional eastern mysticism accent. The evening lighting highlights its charms all the more. There is a petanque court and a volleyball court.

The impressive 14m x 6m swimming pool is surrounded by exquisite sun loungers, dreamy double day beds and parasols. An external bathroom is complete with a shower and a fully integrated outdoor kitchen and dining area for up to 20 people.

The pedestrian-friendly main plaza is dotted with hip cafe bars and restaurants as well as traditional, family-run Ibicenco establishments. The artistic influence is everywhere with hanging art competing with hanging hams in Bar Costa. There are some lovely galleries, arts and craft shops and an eclectic mix of clothing and accessories.

In the buzzy Ibiza Town, the pavements of the pretty Old Town and the trendy new marina are sprinkled with swanky bars and world-class restaurants. Ibiza Town is romantic, historic and intriguing as well as vibrant and cosmopolitan. The gay-friendly back streets of Sa Penya come alive in the evenings with a multitude of colourful guests and residents. Clubbers flock to the renowned nightclubs to dance the night away. Foodies and history buffs will love the annual Eivissa Medieval Festival three-day event which takes place in May. The ancient walled fortress of Dalt Vila is a treasure trove of narrow, cobbled streets brimming with cathedrals, chapels, churches, museums and flower-adorned balconies. After a few hours meandering the attractive streets, you can chill out and soak in the sun on the long, golden stretch of sand at Playa den Bossa, Ibiza’s own version of South Beach!

For a calm and peaceful beach day, you can head to the lovely resort of Cala Llonga. It is a mini-resort with a magnificent silver sanded beach and a good selection of shops and restaurants. Close by is Santa Eulalia with its elegant yacht harbour and beautiful, palm-lined promenade running the length of the beach. Santa Eulalia is Ibiza’s third largest resort and has a long-established reputation as the island’s gastronomic and cultural centre. The fortified 16th-century church of Puig de Missa presides over the town from a hill above.
