This fully air-conditioned villa, is situated on the prestigious Monte Pego development of luxury private properties with spectacular views over the local countryside to the Mediterranean. Located in an area where wild flowers mingle with orange, almond, and olive trees and the villages are totally unspoilt. The property is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. This beautiful detached villa has everything you could wish for in a perfect holiday retreat.
The accommodation at Casa Kalouda is all on one level and consists of a spacious lounge and dining room with seating for six, a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge/ freezer, microwave and dishwasher. All of the bedrooms have air conditioning. The master bedroom has a double bed and enjoys stunning sea views, it has a large en-suite bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and wash hand basin. The second and third bedrooms have two twin beds each with ample wardrobe space. The house bathroom has shower, WC and wash hand basin.
The South facing Villa's terrace has ample sunbathing areas with stunning sea views, a six seater table for alfresco dining, an outside sink and BBQ area. The villa has a private 8m x 4m pool which is professionally maintained weekly and enjoys delightful sea views. The terrace has been extended to provide ample room for sun bathing.
The lounge has a 32" flat screen TV with UK freesat TV and a DVD player. Wireless internet access is also provided. A travel cot and high chair can be provided on request at no additional cost.
The property is located between Alicante and Valencia with both airports being only a little over an hour's drive away. There is a restaurant and a bar within the Monte Pego urbanisation and several other great places to eat and drink in the close vicinity. There are plenty of things to do close by with the towns of Denia, Javea, Oliva and Pego being only a short drive away. The closet beach is a 15 minute drive away. A car is essential.
The rental rates are fully inclusive and include internet, laundry, towels (except beach towels) and cleaning at the end of your stay.
We choose Monte Pego because it is removed from overrun coastal areas and yet it is only a 15 minute drive to the beach - away from the madding crowd but within a few minutes’ drive of all the action. The beach is 18 miles long and the part we like is near Oliva Nova Golf Course. Here it is quiet with plenty of space. It is a children's paradise, indeed it is paradise and has always maintained its blue flag status. There is a multitude of beach sports and activities, and the facilities are excellent. The Red Cross Life Guards, are on duty during the high season. Every water activity you can think of from paragliding to scuba diving to surfing is located locally. The more we have used it the more we like the peace and quiet and the area in general.
The views from the villa are stunning and in particular the evening sunset. Below in the valley are the orange groves and paddy fields - yes, rice! In the distance, on one side you have the mountains, and on the other you are looking out over the sea.
The patio area gets the sun all day long, and there is a covered “veranda” with a large wooden table and seating for 6, which provides shelter from the sun when it becomes too intense. Later in the day to sit out in the evening, with the sun setting over the mountains and a glass of wine nearby is so perfect! The villa, pool and surrounds are completely private and the only noise you regularly hear is that of crickets!
The furniture, fittings and equipment are to a very high standard. Whilst we like to rent to villa out (to help pay the mortgage!) we only rent it out for the summer months. You will see from our calendar that the winter months are not available for renting. We believe the villa would take most abuse during this time as people would be living inside much more than during the summer. We like to keep the villa in good shape and clean and tidy at all times.
There are 2 restaurants/bars in Monte Pego. When you leave Monte Pego there are restaurants and bars in every town or hamlet - so many that you could not start to list them here! However we have our own favourites and full details are provided in a folder in the villa.
Getting there could not be easier. There are regular flights from nearly all main airports to Alicante and Valencia. Situated 100km from both Alicante and Valencia Airports the villa can be reached in just over an hour from either airport using the Auto Via (AP7). Murcia airport is an extra 45 minutes’ drive away.
FIESTAS are frequent in towns in the area and you would be unlucky not to have one nearby during your stay. The Easter Passion ceremonies in Pego are not to be missed. Also of great interest are the Moors and Christian Festivities, which often last a day or two in each local town in July and August. This festivity rotates among the towns so that for the entire summer there is a fiesta somewhere. The running of the bulls into the sea in Denia also takes place in summer.
The FISH MARKETS in Xabia, and Denia are worth visiting, you will get fresh fish, just landed- grill it, or barbeque it outside and consume “con un copa vino blanco seco o dos”.
El Verger, Ondara, and Pego (founded in 1488) are close by, small enough to be intimate, but large enough to have all facilities you might need, video rentals, tapas bars, restaurants, taxi services, laundrettes, excellent hairdressers, patisseries, and good supermarkets. There are two good bodegas in Ondara - even fishing rods and tackle can be bought locally.
There are authentic Spanish villages particularly Pego which has a beautiful square, shaded by trees where the older gather to exchange their news and gossip, and the young strut their stuff. In Pego there are lovely water features and a magnificent church.
Denia (called after the Roman Goddess Diana) is 20 minutes away. It was founded, by the Romans and re built as a strong trading port by the Moors. Indeed it was one of the Moors last strongholds in Spain. It’s trading history and fortifications are quite impressive. It is an attractive and bustling castle town with a regular population of 41,000 people, which swells to 120,000 in summer.
From Denia one can go on day trips to the Balearic Islands of Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca, jet skiing, deep- sea fishing, glass-bottomed boats and the like. The town has its old quarter, (for the more retiring) to its disco scene (generally well behaved). Balmy summer nights, beautiful pier walks, fine tree lined avenues, first- rate bars and restaurants, to suit all types.
Many authentic attractive villages are within easy reach, and getting off the tourist track is comparatively easy.
Near and in these villages are many beautiful restaurants, which can dish up a delightful gastronomic experience at a very reasonable price. The Gastronomy of the area is renowned, fresh seafood and fish being a great treat. Steaks are also recommended, as is lamb. One restaurant in Ondara is famous locally for its steaks and tapas (booking is usually necessary). The on site Café Residential Swiss is 4km away and is a must do experience. The children and indeed the adults will love being spoilt in a setting, with panoramic views over the local countryside and Mediterranean, book early and get an outside table it is well worth the effort. A Swiss Rosti is a treat everyone deserves now and again.
Local markets are held in El Verger, Pego, Olivia and other nearby towns on a weekly basis – details will be sent to you after you have confirmed your booking.
Much is written about the superb climate of the Costa Blanca. Generally speaking, the summers are slightly cooler and less humid than the Costa Del Sol, with the winters dryer, less windy and sunnier. Besides having a glorious year-round climate, wonderful light, and brilliantly clear sky at night, this area is described by the World Health Organization as having "one of the most environmentally perfect climates in the world".
There is a narrow gauge railway from Denia to Alicante, which in a travel review was rated as the best journey in Europe to take.

• Skiing is also available two hours north by car in Valdelinares and Javalambre
• Valencia is well worth a day out especially the Science/Water World Park and shopping

Lovely villa, very well equipped and looked after. Views are stunning and the sun is on the pool and outside dining area right till in sets.
You will need a car due to the location and the drive is steep but you do get use to it after a few drives up.
Stayed in the area before, lots to do and see.

Just back from a two week stay in Casa Kalouda. We had a wonderful holiday. The villa was absolutely immaculate and very well equipped and the pool was amazing, so much so that we didn't actually venture very far, preferring to spend our days lazing by the pool and our evenings on the terrace. All in all, a very peaceful, restful holiday.....just what we needed. The directions from Alicante were easy to follow and spot on, taking us straight to the villa. The timings were extremely accurate. Glenda was very friendly and helpful and emails to Carl were answered quickly and courteously. We would definitely consider returning to this villa.
Lovely property. Although getting ready for some TLC. Perfect for a relaxing, uninterrupted break. Spotless throughout and amazing views to enjoy from the pool terrace. Car a must have.
Having visited Monte Pego many times during the past 15 years, this was once again a very happy holiday, filled with sun, swim and surf. The exception though, was our first-time stay in this lovely villa, Casa Kalouda, which was spotlessly clean on our arrival. This house is fully equipped with first-class appliances and a file filled with instructions/manuals for everything contained within it. Glenda and Steve have been exceptionally helpful and thoughtful, and truly take care of this little gem with great care and dedication.
We could not have asked for more from a holiday and we are so grateful to the owners for sharing their lovely holiday house with complete strangers.
Have just returned after a 1 week stay at the villa.
The description is spot on and the views are amazing. We went for peace and quiet and thats exactly what we got.
The villa is well equipped with everything you need and there is also a BBQ area and sink on the terrace which we used every day. Pool also great and the terrace is south facing.
Car hire is a must and is needed to go to the beach and supermarket.
The supermarket in Pego is very cheap with prices far less than the UK. All shops are closed on Sunday so stock up on arrival.
Villa is also spotlessly clean with fluffy white towels and freshly laundered bed linen.
Glenda and Steve (neighbours) who look after the property were very helpful and on hand when needed.

However having said that we get all the normal UK Channels - BBC 1 & 2, Chanel 4 etc. You will definitely need a car!
