This luxury 3 bedroom/3 bathroom duplex penthouse apartment is set on a complex boasting gym, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, tennis court/padel court, pools, a 9 hole (par 3) golf course and putting green, 2 boules pitches (Sunday pm open tournament for all), outdoor table tennis . Kids club in holidays (golf, tennis, swimming) - please check before coming.

It is situated in a very quiet area in the hills above Elviria, Marbella, yet is only 10 minutes by car from beaches, restaurants and shops. It has panoramic views of mountains and the sea. NB Phase 1 apartments at El Soto are much more spacious than those in Phase 2.

Great for golfers, surrounded by top class golf clubs, with free 9 hole course on site for practice. Pool immediately beneath apartment, but free use of any pool on complex.

The views are fantastic, sea and mountains.

The apartment is fully air-conditioned, set on two floors with the master bedroom complete with marble fireplace and galleried ceiling, occupying the top floor. The living area is spacious and light and furnished in a high quality contemporary style. There is wifi, a Smart tv, stereo, DVD and UK satellite channels. There is a fully fitted and equipped kitchen with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and a separate laundry room with washing machine/tumble dryer. The bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes finished in dark natural wood with classic Moorish filigree panelling. The bathrooms are beautifully finished with a hydro massage bath in the master bathroom and separate dressing room.

The lounge and master bedroom open out onto beautiful tiled terracotta terraces with stunning views overlooking the Marbella coast line. They also overlook directly onto the pool and beautiful gardens. There is an underground garage with lift access to the apartment.

Local area information
Local area information: Elviria is one of the most prestigious addresses in the Marbella area, 30 minutes from Malaga airport and 15 minutes to the centre of Marbella. There is a shopping complex with supermarkets, chemists, shops and banks. The local beach is acknowledged to be the best in the Marbella area with golden sand and good beach restaurants. El Soto de Marbella is located in Elviria Alta, high up in the hills overlooking the coast, yet only 8 minutes from the beach. There is a professional tennis school and many top class golf courses nearby. El Soto overlooks La Cala golf club with some 30 other excellent golf courses within a short distance.

Typical Spanish white villages such as Ronda, Casares, Mijas and Istan are within an hour’s drive from El Soto through some of the most spectacular & breathtaking mountain scenery you can find. The pretty village of Benahavis, which has some of the best restaurants on the Costa del Sol, is just 15 mins away by car. On your way there you will pass through a delightful gorge, woodland and mountain streams. There are around 30 golf courses in the surrounding area all are of a very good standard. The long hours of sunshine that the Costa del Sol receives has established the region as firm favourite for holiday-makers and golf enthusiasts. Of particular interest for families is one of Europe’s largest Animal Reserves, Selwo, just 15 minutes drive away. Here you can enjoy a full day of African adventure for adults and children by either walking or taking a tour in a four-wheel drive vehicle. Also nearby are aqua parks, sea-life centres, boat trips, water sports, cable car rides and markets – the market at Puerto Banus Bullring every Saturday is a must. Probably the most famous part of the area is the "Golden Mile" where luxury yachts are moored at the Puerto Banus Marina. The coastline, full of natural splendour, and its various blue flag beaches range from huge expanses of golden sand to hidden coves with secluded beaches. The majority of the beaches feature small open-air bars & restaurants called chiringuitos where you can find a selection of fresh fish and is usually good value. Andalusia is so remarkable that you can even enjoy Skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountain range near to Granada in winter months while sunbathing is possible on the coast! El Soto is situated on a nature reserve where wildlife and walks can be enjoyed.

Really enjoyed our 2 weeks, lovely apartment, spectacular views from living room, upper bedroom and both balconies to the front overlooking the pool and beyond to the mountains and the med, lovely at night looking over the twinkling lights of the distant towns below. Underground dedicated parking space with elevator access and remote exit door was great,the car nice and cool when venturing out, just a 20 min drive downhill to all the amenities, plenty of fine restaurants, supermarkets, excellent beaches. The grounds at the apartment are an oasis of calm and the clubhouse do a superb breakfast, the evening dining, par excellence, the staff are so pleasant and attentive.
I'd have no hesitation on recommending this place for a fantastic holiday, and would gladly return one day.

Booking & staying at this penthouse was a breeze from start to finish. Excellent communication from the owners and the agents. We have stopped at El Soto a few times but this was by far the nicest apartment, very spacious and clean. All facilities on hand, nothing you needed, they even had golf clubs and tennis racquets for use by guests. As a family we were very impressed and would not hestitate to recommend or book again in the future.

Our eyes widened as we entered this amazing apartment. It is huge. The downstairs bedrooms are both of a very good size and both have large en-suites. Perfect for teenagers or if you are sharing with another family. The upstair bedroom/bathroom is stunning with outstanding views from the terrace. We slept with the patio door wide open. The apartment has good facilities with WiFi that could easily cope with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The apartment has aircon but being up in the hills we found we didn't need it with the mountain/sea breeze. There are also shutters on all windows that we put down to keep the apartment cooler when we were out during the day. The apartment has parking immediately outside and also an easily accessible carpark underneath which we used the majority of the time.

The facilities on this site were perfect for us. The clubhouse served really good food at a reasonable price and offers a loyalty scheme. It also has tribute bands/singers 2 or 3 times a week. It is a lovely place to spend a bit of time. There is also a boules green, gym, spa and tennis. Although we didn't make use of these, they looked great. The gym was of a really good size and well equipped. There's also a table tennis table and you can hire equipment for all of these activities at the clubhouse.

The 9 hole Par 3 was exceptional and proved a nice challenge for my husband and son (9 and 13 handicap). They played it every day. In addition, there were golf courses very nearby which they also enjoyed.

There is a swimming pool directly beneath the apartment and another couple not much further away. Sunloungers were always available and each pool had it's own toilet block which were nice and clean.

The apartment is located up in the hills about a 10 minute drive from the main town. It caters whether you want a 'quiet, get away from it all' holiday but is close enough to drive to all the main attractions a town can offer. The town has a good choice of restaurants and there is a large supermarket which is reasonably priced. We enjoyed an afternoon at Adventura Amazonia (a high ropes adventure course) and there are sea inflatables dotted along the coast plus a zoo and waterpark not too far away. There are also a number of local markets. You have the main towns along the coast with Marbella being an easy drive and a must for dinner in the old town. You can also drive inland to admire some beautiful scenery.

We have had an fantastic 2 week holiday and would not hesitate to return or recommend for those that do not mind being a little out of the way but with easy car access to everything you could want.

This property on this resort was absolutely perfect for our family holiday. We stayed for 2 weeks and happily would have stayed another. Fabulous apartment, very spacious, well equipped, comfortable with everything we needed for a home away from home. Set in the hills it afforded fabulous views from the terraces. The swimming pools are great for kids and for lazy days by the pool. The apartment is only a few minutes drive form all the facilities in Elvaria, which is a lovely little town, offering cafes, restaurants, bars and a beach. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area in future. Only negative the apartment was clean enough in all the general areas but could have been cleaner in the corners and under the beds.

Just wanted to stay what to say a big thankyou to Stephen for letting us rent the apartment in August. The apartment is in a lovely quiet location with great views and immaculate gardens. It is a fantastic size for the family and had ever thing you could wish for on a self catering holiday. The teenaged family members loved the swimming pool, gym and tennis courts, and it was great they had wifi and English television. We loved having barbecues on the terrace during really warm evenings and spending the days by the pool or a short drive to the nearest beaches. Only one small thing, could of done with a spare key as my Son and his girlfriend wanted to stay in the apartment and go gym etc and we had to make sure they were back if we needed to get in when we returned.

Excellent apartment and much bigger than expected. (The photos don't do it justice).

It was very much a home from home with all the mod cons you'd expect. Aircon, coffee machines, washing machine, UK TV, fast WiFi ... the list goes on.

The terrace and views to the sea were spectacular and just outside the apartment was a wonderful swimming pool which the children just loved. It wasn't too busy either so we always had sunbeds and space to relax.

The clubhouse was great and never too busy. We used the gym and tennis court during our stay and both wrere terrific. (Note: We visited in July and the gym didn't have aircon so it did get slightly uncomfortable at times).

Communication with the owners prior to our trip was superb and with Jane during out stay.

Very highly recommended.

The apartment was bought off plan in 2004 and is one of the largest penthouses - no regrets. The gardens are always kept immaculately and the views are wonderful. The apartment is very spacious and the large terraces get the sun all day. It is peaceful up In the hills yet only a 10 minute drive to the coast. We love the golf, tennis, gym and clubhouse.
