This two bedroom penthouse apartment is in the popular complex of Cala Azul. It is within walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants. The apartment has Wi-Fi and airconditioning is included.

Overview

This 2 bed, 2 bath apartment is perfect for a family holiday, a longer winter break or a golfing break in the sun.

No detail has been overlooked and the penthouse terrace has sun loungers, dining table and a seating area. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with everything that you might need. The living room and dining area has been furnished to a very high standard.

The master bedroom boasts an en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and overhead shower. The twin room has its own bathroom next door with a great walk in shower, ideal after a day on the beach or on the golf course. There is also a fold up bed for the 5th guest.

The communal pool and gardens are very well maintained and just a short stroll from the apartment.

The Resort

La Cala de Mijas is popular for those who want a relaxing holiday yet close enough to walk to all facilities. There is a Lidl supermarket beside the urbanization offering incredible value for money and it has a butchers, and bakery section. You don’t even need a car, transfers from Malaga airport are reasonable and the main bus stop is outside the urbanization. You can go to Fuengirola or Malaga on the frequent bus service and from Fuengirola there is a train every 30 mins for just over €3 to the airport.

For those of you who enjoy a short stroll, the market is only 10 minutes away on Wednesday and Saturday and you can pick up all your fruit and veg straight from the farmers stalls. The local restaurants offer the catch of the day from the fishing boats which go out early morning and supply the "chiringuitos" along the beach.

There are bars and restaurants in the commercial area beside the apartments, There are various restaurants and bars to suit all tastes, La Cala does not have a strip of high rise hotels and has retained the charm of the little fishing village it once was. You can meet the locals and enjoy their traditional "menu del dia" or workers lunch, 3 courses plus bread and wine for as little as €10.

Enjoy an evening out at the glitzy Olivia`s or some live entertainment at Legends . One of the best known snack bars on the Costa del Sol "Snack Attack" is open from 07.30 for breakfast and there are some great bars and restaurants. The large supermarkets are within walking distance and the beach is only a short stroll away. The area is very flat so it’s perfect for people who have difficulty with steps and hills.

We enjoyed eight nights in this apartment and had a great time. The complex is clean, well maintained and quiet, it’s also close to Lidl for all your grocery needs. The apartment was spacious and offered a real home from home feel. The terrace is huge and it was so nice to sit out there to eat and enjoy the view. Also great for laying back on the sun beds and relaxing. Kids loved the jacuzzi bath and the tv with English channels was also a hit in the evenings.
It’s a short walk over the bridge (which goes over a very busy main road) to the resort centre and beach.
Cala de Mijas is a really lovely resort, very flat and not too busy with a long sandy beach. There is a pretty resort centre with lots of nice restaurants, especially traditional Spanish ones. There is also a lovely park for the kids next to a square where there is live music sometimes. Would recommend this apartment for families looking to get away from a busy resort and hotel complex style holiday and who want to experience a little of the real Spain.
