Don't turn around when you drive to the villa for the first time. It takes a bit to get here by car, but it's well worth the journey! Once you are here, the owner will show you the way to Frigiliana across the valley, only a ten minute walk. The views and tranquility are exceptional, whilst inside the villa combines comfortable furnishings with a tasteful decoration. It's one of those places where you feel at home away from home.
LOCATION AND OUTSIDE AREA
This newly built villa is positioned on a hillside opposite the white village of Frigiliana and surrounded by avocado trees, enjoying a very quiet location. The outside area offers a built-in BBQ and a good size pool (7x4 m) up a few Roman steps. There is plenty of space for sunbathing while enjoying the stunning views over the countryside and the village. Sun loungers are provided. Adjacent to the living room is another terrace for those looking for shade, with dining amenities and views. The villa is accessed by a concrete path that leads down from the Frigiliana – Torrox road, with a few steep sections. Although there aren't many curves, we recommend you drive a car with at least a 1.4 L motor.
Frigiliana (3.5 km) is approx. a 5 minute drive; however, if you prefer giving your car a holiday, there is a countryside trail to the village, only a 10 minute walk away (good shoes are needed as this walk has some difficulties - the trail is not recommended during night time because there are no lights along the path). The famous beaches of nearby Nerja are just 10 km away, a 15 minute drive.

INSIDE AND LAY-OUT
The comfortable and cosy open plan living/dining/kitchen area with views to Frigiliana has two French doors opening onto a covered terrace. The living room has a sofa for 4 persons, open fireplace, a rocking chair, and is provided with satellite TV and music equipment. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, ceramic hob with 4 rings, microwave, oven and dishwasher. The bedrooms (1 double, 2 twins) are decorated in a soothing style with colourful textile bedcovers and paintings. There is a full bathroom with an over bath shower, basin, and WC, and a shower room with basin and WC. A wood-burning stove and mobile electric heaters are available for the cooler days in off-season. WIFI internet connection provided!

Hidden gem in the countryside The ease of booking with Casitas-Select was perfect. The pictures the websites this villa is advertised on don't do it justice. The owner is unobtrusive but very helpful. (He took us to the nearest supermarket because we arrived on a Sunday) He loves his plants and his villa and this shows. It is immaculate and extremely well equipped and feels like a holiday home not a rental. The pool has filters which automatically come on every evening. We found the one level great and the open plan kitchen/living room really practical. Outside the views are to die for. We sat listening to crickets goat bells and an amusing ass/mule who lives on the hillside and is quite vocal. The dogs barking are a bit distracting but you would hear these anywhere in Frigiliana. You can walk to the village on foot-steep in places but doable. Loved it here are no downsides except the access road which is in bad condition and steep in places. You will need more than a Fiat 500 for those hills!
Amazing villa: This house is absolutely amazing. The villa itself, the barbecue and pool area, the view... it couldn't be better. It is very clean and well kept and has all necessary amenities. The only downside is that the drive down to the villa is a little scary especially the first time because it is quite steep ... but after a few times you will get the hang of it.
Rural spainish accommodation at its very best! We chose Frigiliana and particularly 'Villa Francisco' for our annual late winter month retreat away from UK weather, and it was paradise. The owner, Francisco was so friendly, helpful and accommodating in every aspect. The villa is at the end of a 'road' that can only be described as a mini adventure. The immediate area is great for a walk and Frigiliana just 15 - 20 minutes away on foot. The owner will show you the quick way through his avocado orchard. Therefore, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. The villa is well furnished and extremely comfortable, in fact, all you need to feel at home in the chill evenings with a highly efficient wood burner. It's spanish but that is why we go to Spain in the winter. The local area offers opportunities for all types of walking, with as many challenges as you want. We love walking the rivers, Higueron and Chillar. Acebuchal, 5kms away, is great for a walk and artisan food at the rustic restaurant after.
