Overview

We warmly invite you to stay at our family owned and run seaside penthouse apartment, La Perla del mar. Situated just 250m from the unspoilt beach at El Penoncillo, on the Torrox Costa/Nerja borders, it's an ideal location for those wanting to experience a laid back Spanish coastal resort whilst still providing the option to visit more bustling places nearby.

STOP PRESS! We may be able to offer a slightly reduced rate for couples when they book a stay of 7 days or more between September and June, please just ask !!

This is the perfect place to unwind; relax overlooking the Med on your own private wrap around terrace or spend time chilling at the pool where a lawned sunbathing area with mediterranean style gardens also overlook the sea. There are some superb beach chiringuitos/ restaurants nearby, serving BBQ'd fish and typical Andalucian dishes, fresh and reasonably priced. We also have a local tapa bar and cafeteria and a few minutes further brings you to the promenade at Torrox costa itself with a further variety of restaurants, bars and cafes and a beautiful blue flag beach.

For Spring and Winter guests, this is the ideal location for walking, fishing, tennis and golf and with excellent autovia connections to enable sightseeing further afield, including, Granada, Sierra Nevada, Ronda, Sevilla, Cordoba and Malaga, whilst the local white villages of Torrox pueblo and Frigiliana are a short drive away.

The penthouse also has a fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, coffee maker (and dishwasher!) and is equipped with all the utensils pots and pans for the budding chef to practice their skill with the fresh local produce.

The South facing terrace is furnished with dining table and chairs, and 2 sunloungers, sun canopy and parasol, we also provide a cool box for use at the pool or beach, but we do ask our guests to please bring pool towels.

PLEASE NOTE: Our lovely home may not be suitable for families with very young children or less mobile people as the final access is via a short flight of stairs following taking one of the two lifts to the 5th floor where La perla is then situated on the 6th floor!

Hi. Thank you for taking the time to look at our property listings. We hope you like them! We moved to Andalucia in 2000, just wanting to move to the Sun and a slower pace of life. Our daughter went to the local school, my parents also retired here and we spent many a happy hour together enjoying the area and the warmth of the people, not forgetting the food and wine! During our time at Finca Manolo, (property ref: 376762) we undertook the task of restoring the old house and installing a pool, which was a must! We have many fond memories, and those guests who have become friends, returning Year after Year, have made many more of their own. While we lived at the Finca, we grew grapes and attempted to make wine like the locals, not so successfully though! We kept chickens, the old chicken shed is abandoned now but you can still glimpse it from our chill out corner, we also had a baby goat, won in a local lottery (we were vehement to insist we would take it vivo -as we did in the back of Antonios taxi- not muerto ready for the pot)! We also had a mule who lived to a ripe old age........When we are not working elsewhere we love to spend time back at our 1st home in Andalucia, we also enjoy sharing with all the lovely people we have met and are still due to meet as we continue to offer our rural retreat for holidays! Our sea view penthouse apartment, la Perla del Mar (ref 377888) is a more recent acquisition as we continue to enjoy our lives here, the beautiful coastline is another of our favourite places! Please let us know if there is anything you would particularly like to know before you book. Holidays are precious and we appreciate your confidence in us. Thankyou :) Sue
