Overview

Escape from everyday life and indulge yourself in the sumptuous surroundings of Al Qasr. Wake up to the outstanding panoramic views, visible through the huge expanses of glass, as you meander from room to room taking in the gorgeous natural light. Walk through the abundance of arched French doors and take a few steps out onto the large and very private terrace, before immersing yourself into your own private infinity pool. Wander lazily to one of the pool loungers, kick off your shoes and allow yourself to unwind and enjoy the tranquil peace and quiet that Al Qasr provides. Enjoy lazy undisturbed meals in the cool al fresco dining area with a chilled bottle of Spanish wine, whilst whiling away the afternoon. As the dark closes in, the gardens, terraces and chill out lounge take on a different night time theme with LED mood lighting throughout. Pour yourself a sundowner while you prepare an evening feast in our newly constructed outdoor kitchen. You may even be lucky enough to see the wild boar that live below the house, especially just after sunset.

Al Qasr (meaning The Palace in Arabic) is truly a paradise like no other! A 180m2 split-level villa nestled beautifully on an extremely private 1500m2 southwest facing plot, surrounded by high perimeter walls and large secured solid entrance gates, with plenty of parking, offering total anonymity. It has an abundance of outside space and amazing views. Plenty of areas to either enjoy together, or to relax on your own. It is perfectly positioned to enjoy all day sun, from mid-morning to night.

Situated in the gorgeous village of Cortijo Cabrera, where you can stroll a mere 350m to the Arch bar to enjoy local tapas or carry on to Riad Restaurant. (Lovely known as Fatima’s, who is now the proud owner of a ‘TripAdvisor People's Choice Award 2022)! You'll find our local town of Turre, along with the white-washed town of Mojacar and the blue flag beaches of Mojacar Playa very close by.

Due to its position, it has the most enviable and uninterrupted view of the spectacular sunsets we are blessed with here in Cabrera. The light here is phenomenal for photographers and changes constantly as do the reflections in the infinity pool. Although Cabrera is tucked away in the mountains, there is much to do close by. There are many walking trails in the area. Keen cyclists enjoy the personal challenges of the mountain range. There is a scuba diving school in Mojacar for the budding Jacque Cousteau. Small sailboats for hire near Garrucha. In addition, there is a water park in Vera Playa. A little further afield is the only European desert, Tabernas, where some of the world's finest olive oil is produced. It has also been used on many film sets. The Cabo de Gata-Nijar National Park with its wild & isolated landscape is approximately a 1 hour drive down the coast.

Much time has been spent designing and creating a relaxing haven after dark, with LED lighting installed throughout the gardens, terraces, outdoor kitchen, chill-out lounge and swimming pool in vibrant blues, purples, and pinks, creating a stunning ambience. Our warm white lanterns add to the calming and soothing atmosphere.
Double gated entrance to a large gravel driveway with plenty of parking. A wide stairway leads down to the double gated entry courtyard and access to the main villa, the outdoor kitchen, chill out lounge, the gardens, lower terraces and attached ensuite bedroom.

The Villa:

Moving towards the main part of the villa, you’ll find the entrance. The front door leads into a small hall, where you’ll find the Samira twin bedroom and bathroom. You enter the spectacular spacious and luxuriously appointed lounge by taking a few steps up. As you ascend these few steps up into the lounge you will come across one of the most stunning views in Cabrera, showcased through an enormous 6 metre full-length window! With a bespoke gas fire, a large grey aniline leather corner sofa, a 43-inch Sony smart flatscreen TV with English channels, and a radio station. The home includes a BluRay player, a fast wireless mesh network, a Bose Soundlink resolver+II portable speaker, and Moroccan furniture! The lounge naturally flows through to an arched open-plan octagonal dining room, with four sets of arched French doors leading directly out to the beautiful infinity swimming pool and terraces. The dining room focal point is a stunning octagonal bespoke American walnut table, with seating for 6 guests. All windows are UV tinted to help regulate heat and glare.

From the dining area descend into the well-appointed white kitchen with German appliances. The open plan kitchen comprises of white drawer and door units (where you'll usually find plenty of pantry items) with Silestone work surfaces, a large Siemens fan oven/grill with 5 burner gas hob, an American fridge/freezer, coffee machines, etc. The washing machine and dishwasher are located in a small utility room through a door at the end of the kitchen. This door also leads out to the back passageway, the laundry drying area and the gas BBQ.

You'll find two bedrooms with ensuite/bathrooms in the main house. All bedrooms have individually controlled A/C units and come with "Panda London" Bamboo memory foam mattress toppers, Egyptian cotton sateen bedding, Portuguese cotton bedspreads and large thick fluffy Royal Egyptian bath towels. All bathrooms are fitted with high-end Italian and Philippe Starck by Duravit sanitary ware & Hansgrohe rain-head showers.

You can reach the Master Bedroom (The Amira) via the curved glass and tile staircase from the open-plan living space. Here you'll find a King Moroccan teak four-poster bed, matching bedside tables and a blanket box, all below a huge domed ceiling. Your own controlled air conditioning unit & large ceiling fan. This remarkable octagonal room includes picture windows and double French doors, leading you to your own private wraparound balcony. All with spectacular views of Cabrera's famous Eagle's Rock and far-reaching views to the Alpujarras and the Sierra Nevada. On the opposite side of the bedroom descend into the Master ensuite, with a large Italian sink, bidet and a walk-in rain shower.

The twin room (The Samira) is on the ground floor. With a beautifully hand-crafted Andalućian traditional tiled headboard, Moroccan bedside tables, a large mirror and white high gloss wardrobes. Your own controlled air conditioning unit and large ceiling fan. French patio doors lead you to your own private balcony with Ketter seats and again, spectacular views. Located next to The Samira bedroom, off the entrance hall, is its own separate bathroom. It has an Italian high gloss sink, a contemporary vanity unit and a bath with an overhead rain shower.

The third ensuite king room (The Layali). With separate access via the stairwell (off the secured courtyard), you'll see it is beautifully formed. Featuring a contemporary Italian ultra-modern ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower/large rain head, spacious modern sink/vanity, well-lit with a large mirror, extractor fan and LED lighting in the bathroom niches. Large sliding door for privacy in the bedroom. The bedroom has a king-size bed, a plush padded headboard and personal reading lights, wall-hung bedside tables, a wardrobe as well as a big window and louvred shutters. At the end of the bed is a picture wall with purple mood lighting to aid relaxation. A full-length glass entrance door (with privacy blind) allows you to sit up in bed and admire the breathtaking scenery! This also has its own individual air conditioning unit. Outside on the terrace, you'll find a bistro table to enjoy your morning coffee which you can make in the outside kitchen (just a stone's throw away).

With the Layali bedroom in a secure and private area of the grounds and the ground floor living area being split, with the Amira located at the top of the stairs and the Samira located at the opposite end of the ground floor, you’ll find this gives all guests total privacy between bedroom accommodation. It’s time to recharge and explore!

5 star: Fabulous Time! Dear Lynn, Yes, we had a fabulous time at Al Qasr! We have stayed at about 25 villas in Cabrera over the years and I can honestly say Al Qasr is the most impressive. The view is certainly the best - and the furnishings and decor are a credit to your good taste. My wife fell in love with the gold silk curtains in the lounge and we were very happy in the villa. Jane was an impeccable host and manager - and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. Full marks. The only problem was the weather. it was too good! 5 Star: 2 week stay: We have rented villas for 15 years plus and I can safely say Al Qasr comes up top of the best places we have stayed at. The Villa is very clean and has everything you need catered for, including well stocked kitchens inside and out. The pool is fantastic and is well kept by the pool guy who comes twice a week. The views are wonderful and the local Bar down the road serves up great food both to eat in and to takeaway. Car rental is a must. Turre is 15 minutes drive away, which has two well stocked supermarkets and a street market on a Friday. Mojacar and the beaches are 20 minutes drive away. Great stay despite the heatwave!

5 star: Dream Honeymoon We have loved our stay at Al Qasr! The location is absolutely fabulous and the house, garden and grounds are equally fabulous. The road to the house through the Sierra de Cabrera was beautiful and easy. The urbanisation the villa is located in is very well kept and has a great restaurant and bar. As for the views, from the pool or anywhere in the house, these are breathtaking!!!! The house is very well equipped with everything you might need. We would love to come back in the future as this was a dream honeymoon!!!

Hello, we're Lynn and Fraser from Dorset. We stayed in the lovely village of Cortijo Cabrera 15 years ago, when our children were 9 and 8 years of age and we fell in love with it. We knew we always wanted our own place in the area but we either never had the time, (raising a family/work/moving abroad) or could never seem to find 'the one'. We finally found it, during one of the covid lockdowns! With some travel restrictions still in place or guests staying at the villa, we walked through the doors on the 20th September 2021, (the day we completed/purchased her), to see it for the very first time. We knew it was a special villa and the views were outstanding but it still did not prepare us for the beauty we saw. We had been busy updating and getting our new home ready for our 2022 guests, when disaster struck. To cut a very long story short, Almeria had the largest rainfall since records began in March 2022. With poor drainage in place, this caused a number of problems, not just for us but for others on the mountain. It affected our parking area and the lower terrace so much, with a heavy heart, we had to cancel and refund our 2022 guests. However.....not only did we get through it, we rebuilt the areas stronger and tougher! . We also took the opportunity to add extras!. One being our outside kitchen, that will be ready for April 2023. We are so excited for the 2023 season and we hope to be welcoming you to our home. Lynn & Fraser
