The first floor comprises of two large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and own terrace, while on the third floor there's a bedroom with en suite bathroom and a gym area with breathtaking views.

Carpathian Log Home is suitable for ski holidays, relaxing away from it all retreats for families with kids, lovers of nature and traditions, as the village of Bran is the gate to the mysterious Transylvania with its centuries old fortresses and ancient popular traditions. The nearby city of Brasov or the Sighisoara fortress are rich in history and culture, exquisite pubs and clubs and most of all, friendly romanians willing to share the beauties of their country with worldwide tourists.

Located 25 Km from Brasov and 190 Km from Bucharest, Bran represents both a historical place and a legend. Bran is the gateway between Transylvania and Valachia with one side lined by the Piatra Craiului Mountains and the other by the Bucegi Mountains. Bran hosts one of the most visited castles in Europe, the Dracula Castle, the source which inspired the most fascinating legend of the blood- shedding Count Dracula. The Castle was built by the inhabitants of Brasov in the interval 1377-1382 to protect the mountain pass from the invading Turks. At the beginning of the 20th century it became the favourite residence of Queen Maria of Romania, a queen for whom the Bran inhabitants manifested a deep gratitude, as they also benefited from a profound appreciation during the Romanian monarchy. Although the name of Bran is closely linked to that of the Bran Castle, the region is extremely rich in tourist attractions: the Moieciului Gorges, the Bucegi Mountains and Piatra Craiului, Pestera Dambovicioara, Cetatea Rasnovului (Rasnov Fortress), and also Brasov and the neighbouring Saxon fortresses from Prejmer and Harman. More distant sites can also be visited, such as: Peles Castle in Sinaia, the medieval fortress Sighisoara (UNESCO Patrimony), or Biertan, one of the biggest Saxon fortresses in Transylvania. Bran has also become a place which competes with the town due to its smart villas built in recent years. Living within a well-meaning nature, with hardworking and welcoming people the people from Bran always knew how to benefit from the assets they had from tourism. Rural tourism has been practised in the region for some decades, representing a feasible alternative to the large hotels in the Valea Prahovei or Poiana Brasov resort. Poiana Brasov resort is a traditional place for skiing, but also for spending Summer holidays. the access from Rasnov is pretty short (9kms). The family-like atmosphere that overwhelms you in the rural homes, the people who know to value a "thank you" coming from the bottom of the heart of a tourist after a good wealthy meal, hosts who will proudly show their tastefully decorated houses, are only some of the arguments which will persuade you to prolong your stay in these places.

This chalet really does have the wow factor! It is beautiful and situated in a quiet area with stunning views. We were there in February so the weather was cold and snowy but the house was warm and welcoming. All the facilities were great, the fire and open living area perfect for spending time together but without being on top of each other. The bedrooms all a great size and with en-suites too!
We throughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to all, we would happily come back again in winter but also could see how lovely it oddly be in the summer months too.
The owners were lovely who attended our every need if we asked for anything, we couldn't ask for more.

"We were a large group that stayed at this house. It is extremely comfortable and well appointed. The location is excellent to enjoy the local attractions of Transylvania. We visited the nearby Castle Bran and took advantage of the local skiing. The house is a modern floor plan with a wide open feel and wonderful views from all the large windows. Each room was nicely fitted. The kitchen served us well and we self catered most meals. It was especially nice to take advantage of the sauna for a truly relaxing experience. At night we all enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace. G.M., Maryland Our only difficulty was that the road to the property was not well plowed for about 150 meters and would suggest you have a 4 wheel drive in winter."

"We had the chance to spend a week at the Carpathian Log Home over the holidays and here we are, almost a month later, still thinking fondly of our time spent there. Our stay got off to a bit of an "adventurous" start, which we werent exactly planning on but we really cant hold anyone but mother nature resposible for it. A severe winter storm had just hit the area prior to our arrival and it had been snowing for several days in a row. Even though that made for an absolute fairytale white Christmas, it also meant that our car wasnt going to be able to make it safely up the hill through several feet of fresh powder snow so we ended up parking about 100 yards away, at the bottom of the hill. Not a deal breaker and, seeing what was waiting for us at the top of the hill, it was definitely worth the minor inconvenience! The owners kindly offered to help with our luggage, which was appreciated. The villas setting is breathtaking and it was oh, so quiet! All you could hear were the tree branches creaking, heavy with snow. Inside, there was a fire already roaring in the fireplace and the house felt toasty warm. Cant beat that on a 10° below Fahrenheit day! Another nice surprise was the welcome basket provided, which was chock-full of local goodies (traditional Romanian sweet bread "cozonac", sausages, cheese wrapped in pine bark, wine, fresh fruit). The owners had even brought in a freshly cut Christmas tree for us to decorate! They really have thought of everything and it showed in the little details throughout the whole house. Always appreciated and sometimes hard to find. We stayed in the master bedroom and its a lovely room, comfortable & tastefully decorated, with great views (as are all of the other bedrooms, from what we could see). The bed was REALLY comfy, we had some of the best nights of sleep while there and Im very particular about my bed! Also, everything seemed to be in pristine condition and spotless clean, which is also a major point in my book. We didnt do much cooking at home but, for those who would be so inclined, the kitchen was equipped with pretty much everything one would need in order to have a feast. There are also plenty of good restaurants to choose from in the area, some even within walking distance. We loved wrapping up the nights curled up in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine. And the sauna & jacuzzi were a real treat after a long, cold day on the ski slopes. The owners themselves were an absolute pleasure to deal with and they went our of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Our only regret is that we couldnt stay longer! Now we can dream about the next time we will, hopefully, be able to return to the CLH." M. White, California

"We enjoyed our stay in this place. The place is wonderful - a nice fire place makes the atmosphere very warm and cozy. Great value for money, clean, quiet, big living room, new furniture. The owners are very helpful and friendly. I recommend this place." G. Radu, Bucharest.
