Casa Amora, Vale De Milho
Beach villa with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private pool and golf nearby in Vale Milho, Algarve
From £1,050 per week
Luxury 3 bed villa with private swimming pool, two barbecues, high speed WIFI, maid service and private garden very close to Carvoeiro.
Overview
Combining the luxury of home with the best of the Algarve, Casa Amora is a 3 bedroom villa near the popular town of Carvoeiro.
Built in the 1990s and named after the owner's childhood home (thats mulberries not love!), Casa Amora is a inviting home from home for a family holiday. The villa is equipped with high-speed WiFi, a music centre, flat screen LCD TV, DVD player and several English channels. For those not tempted by the pool and outside life, there is a Playstation PS2, XBox Kinect and a selection of books and games.
The ground floor has the main reception, combining the dining and seating areas, and a separate kitchen. The bedrooms are also on this floor. The master bedroom has an ensuite with its own Jacuzzi bath. Beds 2 & 3 are located on the other side of the villa and are both twin rooms sharing a bathroom. There is also a separate cloakroom. The roof top sun room has panoramic views over the countryside and coastline; this room has air-con, available with an additional charge. (Note that the main reception area and bedrooms do NOT have air-con).
Meals can be taken inside on the dining table or at any of the 3 outdoor dining areas. One such area is in an enclosed courtyard with its own barbecue and dining table. The other dining areas are near the private swimming pool and the second barbecue of the property. This area also has an outdoor shower and garden toilet.
Maid 3 times a week
In the Carvoeiro Area
The area has a variety of beautiful beaches, the nearest is Praia de Centeanes and is within walking distance. Also within a short drive are Praias des Carvalho, Benagil, Marinha, Albandeira and, of course, Carvoeiro. Each beach has its own attractions with varying degrees of facilities and accessibility. Personal favourites are Centeanes and Marinha. There is a scenic cliff top walk between Marinha and Albandeira for the more adventurous (not recommended for toddlers).
The Algarve is known for its golfing and the villa is only 2 minutes walk of the Vale de Milho golf course. This par 3 course was designed by Dave Thomas to challenge all golfers. There is also a clubhouse, restaurant and bar. On the other side of Carvoeiro are Vale da Pinta and Gramacho golf courses. Both courses are 18 holes and were designed by Ronald Fream.
Further Afield
For a complete perspective of the area visit the historic town of Silves with its Moorish Castle, or venture up into the hills to Monchique and Caldas de Monchique. Monchique is one of the best places for the local delicacy, peri-peri sauce, traditionally served on barbecued chicken. For those not adverse to a longer drive, visit Cape St Vincent, the Southwestern tip of Europe.
To appreciate the coastline you can take boat cruises from Portimao or, for the more energetic, take a pedalo from one of the several beaches. Some boats also offer sport fishing. Details of several excursions can be found in the villa.
Recommended by the owner are the excellent shopping malls of Algarve Shopping at Guia or Agua Shopping at Portimao. Portimao also has a daily market and a large monthly market held on the first Monday of the month. Whilst in Portimao, why not experience the famous sardines at one of the restaurants overlooking the bay. Algarve shopping and Portimao can both be reached within 20 minutes drive.
Popular gypsy markets can be found in the nearby towns of Loule and Quarteira.
Other nearby activities include horseriding, the water slide parks of Slide & Splash & Aqualand, Zoomarine ocean theme park and the Krazy World Algarve Zoo at nearby Algoz.

From ease of booking, use of a well maintained clean Villa, with excellent facilities – our holiday at Casa Amora was very enjoyable. Carole the Villa Manager and Paula the Maid were very good, and helped us settle in extremely well. In total, an excellent Villa, and one which we would highly recommend. Michael & Gillian Smith.

The property was excellent especially the pool. The area was very quiet and clean. It was about 20 minute walk to the town centre with a hill to contend with. But nice weather and no issue. The town centre had everything you would expect, definitely will return with family. Easy to book and communicate with the owner, book this villa. You will not be disappointed.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Amora. The villa had lots of space and was very clean. The pool was fantastic and to have the opportunity to eat in different parts of the villa was an added bonus. The sun room has fantastic views out to sea. The manager Carole was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Her knowledge of the Algarve helped us when planning to explore the area.
The instructions were clear including the directions, even though the hired car Satnav managed to take us right there.

Pool area perfect
Maid service good
Inside tired no air con
Wet towels were left 3 times by maid even though we advised manager we still had to hang them up so they didn’t smell.
Broken fan we were told would be replaced straight away we were left a note under the mat saying no it would not be replaced that the way to cool the house was to close the curtains ?
We were not aware of the extra charge to use the only room in the house that had air con there is no extra price listed on the web site
On arrival pool was covered over and 4 pensioners had to remove the cover this should have been done prior to arrival
The house had not been aired and was very musty
Two of the bedrooms beds were on just on hard board no springs or slats
We didn’t contact manager as it was pointless and we wanted a family holiday not constant visits
Location to nearest supermarket is not as advertised you need a car for this area
First time in over 20 years of renting villas twice a year have we been dissatisfied

It was a pleasure to repeat our stay at Casa Amora. Once again we were able to enjoy the comfort the villa offers and relax around the pool when we weren't out seeing the sites. The local agent, Carol, is extremely helpful and the maid is pleasant and conscientious. We recommend the villa for couples like us or as a family holiday. A car is essential to enjoy the area. If not self catering there are many decent restaurants in the vicinity. Lots to recommend it and no complaints.

John
A delightful property, well maintained by the owner. The property was as described on the website. It included more than enough utensils if one wished to self cater, the lounge area and bedrooms were comfortable and it was a joy to relax by the pool. The cleaner Paula kept the property neat and clean, the pool maintenance man was a cheery gentleman and the local representative Carole was attentive and helpful. We found nothing to criticise. Hopefully we will go again.

A bit about myself ... I'm married with two children and live in Kent. I don't work full time but I have several interests, some paid, some voluntary, with most related to properties. For example, I'm a relocation agent helping people move to the UK, refurbish properties for business and own use, am a landlord and, of course, have Casa Amora. My parents bought Casa Amora from plan and I took over the running in the mid-2000s. So, as well as being a business, it's our family vacation home. I plan on keeping the villa as a escape in the sun so no air conditioning or high-tech wiring, but homely, comfortable and with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. I'm open to suggestions. Tracie :)
