We are nature lovers. My father taught me a lot about nature and photography and it always stayed with me. Now I am an official bird guide in Portugal. Spring and fall are the busiest months of the year for me and it is wonderful to meet so many different and nice people. We (my wife Marianne and I) left the Netherlands 26 years ago to escape the rat race and we built our Monte Horizonte 14 years ago. And since we love silence, privacy and nature, this is how we set up Monte Horizonte. We leave our guests alone to relax and recharge the batteries, but you are always welcome to stop by for a chat, advice or assistance. In addition, we still enjoy all the good things Portugal has to offer, such as the good food and wines, the empty beaches, the friendly Portuguese people, the clean air, the low crime rate, the fantastic climate along the ocean and everyday life . My life motto is: Collect as many good memories while you still can.
