An excellent 3 double bedroomed, spacious villa with good outside terracing & sunbeds to take advantage of the good weather, such as we had in October 2011. Very well equipped, nice to have a games room. Not really suitable for very young children due to outside steep stairs without a gate. Not much to do in Calheta and Funchal, which is a great city to visit, is a good 30 minutes drive away. Absolutely essential to have a car. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa CasaCades and would certainly recommend it to friends.

Property fully met description and photos on the website were truly representative of the property and its views. The owner was very helpful and responded promptly to emails we sent requesting advice/imformation prior to our stay. The local caretaker was also very helpful and checked we were fine during some particularly bad weather which was very much appreciated .

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the villa. The balcony overlooking the sea is fantastic with shade keeping a wonderful stable temperature all the time and sun for those who like being out in the heat. The villa itself was delightfully cool and airy whenever we returned to it and we had everything we needed and much enjoyed table tennis and pool as a family. We were initially a little disappointed that we couldnt walk down to the beach/Marina at Calheta as we hadnt realised the way led through two tunnels. However, it is very quick to get to in the car with excellent free parking available whenever we went down. The owners were extremely helpful (we have a daughter with a severe peanut allergy and they let us know before we went about appropriate medical services in case of an emergency), while Roseann who looks after the property with her Madeiran husband, Gilberto, is English, so you get the benefit of having access to both English and Portuguese. There were many good walks from the property and around, including a couple of easy levada walks from nearby Prazeres. Thoroughly recommended.

This is a very nice property with stunning views. The kitchen facilities are perhaps a little basic and it could do with a dishwasher. We stayed at the villa during quite cold weather and had to request extra duvets, which were provided by Rose the next day. We also raised a few other issues with the owner that I am confident that he will ensure are fixed. All in all it is a beautiful and well kept property with just a few small problems which I am sure can easily be sorted. The owner seemed very happy to deal with any concerns that we raised.

The overall views from the guest were very complimentary . We always welcome constructive feedback to improve our service and as a consequence the main issue of the lack of a dishwasher and coffee machine has now been addressed and the new appliances are in place.Whilst the guests were at the Villa the weather was unusually cold - however we have since added extra bedding and electric heating for all the bedrooms - in order to negate any further problems.Ian Cade

This has been our 5th stay at Villa Casa Cades since 2012. Again, we have been fully satisfied by the excellent conditions inside and outside of the house. The view from the big terrace is amazing at day and also at night. The rooms are very good equipped representing an elegant style of dedicated culture with a lot of additional space. Everything is very clean and lovely decorated. All you would need for an easy stay is available, high speed Wi-Fi included. The contact to the owner and to the people who take care for the villa was again very enjoyable and friendly. The house is located in a beautiful and very quiet garden area. The only little noise comes sometimes from a little water pump of a swimming pool nearby. Bars, supermarkets, hiking pathes and even a beach are only few minutes by car away. Even in the case of not perfect weather, you are perfectly located in the villa enjoying the view and the beautiful surroundings or reading an interesting book of the collection of the owner.

The views from your villa are beautiful - it was lovely watching the boats/ships slowly sailing on the horizon. We loved the space and the fact that you have selec ted furniture etc, that you would have in your own home which was a nice touch. We have already told lots of people about your villa.Mrs C A Halliday Lancashire UK September 2010

July 2010 It's with nostalgic that we parted from the villa today. The space of the house, the decoration and tranquility of the area are ideal for rest. We will be backThanks for everything. Magda AscensãoFunchal Madeira

Review of Casa Cades May 2010I recently stayed at a lovely villa in Calheta on the beautiful island of Madeira. The villa was in an excellent location with fantastic views all round, I never tired of looking out to sea and taking in the breathtaking scenery of the island. The villa was very spacious and the rooms were very clean and well looked after - great facilities. The villa was well located within easy distance of the beach and marina in Calheta, it was probably a 20 minute walk and only a couple of minutes in a car. A car is necessary to get around the local area. It was also only a few minutes drive from the character rich village of “ Jardim do Mar “ where Joes bar serve a really good Piri Piri Chicken dish.We were met at the airport by Rose and Gilberto they look after the villa for the owner and they provided an excellent service and, nothing was too much trouble for them and we often took advantage of their local knowledge, probably to the extent of being a nuisance but they always had a had a ready smile and were very helpful.I highly recommend this villa, it is especially suited to a family or group of friends. We only purchased the villa in 2009 and this was initially intended for our own private use only ( hence the high quality furnishings ) We have just taken the decision to rent out the property ( decision taken April 2010 ) .As a consequence there have not been any visitors yet and hence no comments . However we have our first rental later this month and will then be able to provide guest feedback )
