We are 15 minutes away from the beautiful Little Venice of Portugal, Aveiro, with its canals and Moliceiro, rich history and sweet Ovosmoles, the sweet delicacy of the area. Aveiro´s beaches, Barra and Costa Nova are large white sand beaches good for swimming and surfing.
Just 25 minutes away from Aveiro on the train is Coimbra, the University City that was the former capital of Portugal. Coimbra has an abundance of churches and museums filled with the rich history of the area, going back to Roman times.
Across the way from the farm is the Bioria which is a wetland filled with wildlife and a birders dream, beautiful walks or bicycle rides treat you to views and awesome sunsets over the estuary. During September they hold the mud race known as the Biorace here for brave individuals !!

Hi my name is John, My wife and I have been living between Portugal(my family home) the UK and South Africa since Covid, whilst here in Portugal I decided to convert 2 containers into a tiny home, situated at the entrance to a forest along a river in our garden. With beautiful views of the Salreu Bioria wetland and estuary across the road from the property, walking, biking, birding and general nature beckoned ! Our family have owned the property for about 50 years and we would often come on bucolic holidays away from the busy lifestyle we were accustomed to, collecting eggs, picking fruit, walking to the pastelaria for a bica and pastel, totally immersed in nature but still able to catch the train into Porto, Lisbon, Aveiro and Coimbra accessing the fast paced life again!
