Aldeia Formosa is a development adjacent to the sandy beach, a fort, the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and close to 5 golf courses. The apartment is light and spacious and has been furnished to a superior standard. It is on the first and second floors of a 3 storey block, accessed through a locked and gated courtyard with entry phone. The pedestrian exit from the car park also brings you into the gated courtyard. There are south facing balconies on each floor with impressive sea views. Sandy beaches are only 2 minutes walk away and numerous affordable restaurants and coffee bars line the waterfront. Benamor golf course is less than 2km away and several other courses are within easy reach. Cabanas is a fishing village catering for a wide variety of outdoor interests - tennis, padel, lawn bowls, fishing, cycling, bird watching, walking, kite surfing and water sports. Fishing boats can be hired. The train station to Faro (in the west) or Vila Real (in the east) is a 12 minute walk away.

I jointly own these lovely apartments with my business partner David. We also run a renowned Project and Programme management company but like to escape from the hectic life whenever we can with our families. We have put a lot of thought and effort into making these apartments as comfortable for our guests as at all possible. Holidays (long weekends or for longer periods) are always special to us and with this in mind we were keen to make the apartment a 'home from home in the sunshine' for people (whatever the season) who rent from us. We hope you agree!
This area of the Algarve was highly recommended on the Channel 4 program 'A Place in the Sun' as being beautiful and unspoilt. It is a truly gorgeous part of Portugal. We chose this apartment (with compass in hand) to get the best of the sunshine all day and because of the stunning views of the lagoon and Cabanas Island from both the lower and especially the upper terrace. The long golden sandy beaches are a sight to behold. We recognised that the apartment was ideal for families, golfers and people who are not tied to school holidays. There is something for everyone!
We have worked hard to make the apartment suitable for rental all year around. There is air-conditioning for the summer and oil-filled wall radiators for the cooler evenings. The apartment is 200 metres from restaurants, the waterfront, cafes and bars. There is something for everyone in Cabanas. We have ensured that the apartment is so well equipped that guests can either prepare a feast to eat in or take the small stroll to the local restaurants and come back 'home' for a digestif and/or coffee! We are proud to say we have guests who book with us again year after year and like us they don't want to leave at the end of their stay. One set of guests summed up their experience saying "Wow"!
Outdoor furniture on both balconies. A BBQ, loungers, table, chairs and parasol are available on the terraces. Both terraces enjoy splendid and amazing south facing views over the lagoon to Cabanas Island. There is a reserved underground car parking space for the apartment in the secure garage.
The tv can record and replay programs onto a USB stick if you bring your own USB.
A smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm are both installed and regularly tested.
