Overview

Villa El-Gharb is a truly outstanding 4 bedroom villa in a beautiful, peaceful, rural and secluded setting, which affords absolute privacy. Situated well away from the noisy tourist areas in a country setting yet only 5 minutes’ drive to the gorgeous beaches of Balaia, Falesia, Olhos D'Agua. Only 15 minutes’ drive to the stunning beaches of Praia de Sao Raphael and Do Castelo, which are further along the coast.

Although situated in a rural area the villa is close to Albufeira, with only 5 minutes drive to the Old Town or the New Town (The "Strip" as it is sometime known). It is only a few minutes drive to everything you could possibly want, supermarkets, a pharmacy, many local shops, restaurants and cafes. There is a mini-market available for essentials only a few minutes walk away, and also close to a couple of bars and cafes.

There is easy access to the A22 motorway and the EN125; driving time to Faro airport is 30 to 35 minutes with Vilamoura only 15 to 20 minutes drive away. If you don't want to drive there is a bus stop close at hand with a frequent service into Albufeira, which takes about 10 minutes. Car hire is recommended but not absolutely essential. UBERS are inexpensive, and really excellent in the Algarve.

The villa sits on its own on a large plot surrounded by fields and orchards, mainly orange trees and typical Portuguese countryside. In keeping with the surroundings the garden is well stocked with mature shrubs, palm trees and flowers, which border the large private pool adjacent to the terrace. The garden is fenced and very safe for children.

In terms of accommodation, the villa is on 2 floors, there is a large lounge/dining room and a large fully fitted kitchen. On the ground floor there are three large bedrooms, two of which can be made either as a double or twin. One has an ensuite shower room with patio doors leading to the terrace and poolside area. The other two share a large well-appointed shower room / bathroom. On the first floor there is a fabulous master bedroom with a terrace looking over the pool and has a beautiful new shower room. All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes.

Cots and high chairs can be provided.

The sun terraces are secluded with no other property overlooking the villa or pool area; if you want absolute privacy this villa is perfect. The villa is fully double glazed, has an alarm system, Satellite TV (not Sky), heating, fully air-conditioned, Wifi internet, BBQ, automatic garden irrigation system, extensive garden lighting and solar panels for hot water. There is a large driveway and parking area and entry is by electronic gates.

For the safety of young children the pool can be fenced off if requested at the time of booking, or well before arrival.

The villa is fully equipped to a very high standard with quality white goods and quality guest and pool towels are provided.

For stays in November & December there is heating in all rooms and a lovely fireplace in addition.

About the Owner's Agent

My name is Ken Paterson married to Yvonne. We do not own this property; it is owned by our close Portuguese friends, Nuno and his father Rogerio. We now handle the bookings for them in the UK and commenced doing so from June 2018. I worked in Financial services as the Compliance & Risk Director for a major national Independent Financial Adviser but now retired. Yvonne was an office manager with an estate agent, previously with a major high street bank, IBM, but also now retired.

We bought our first apartment at Villa Rosal in Sao Raphael near Albufeira 21 years ago when we first met Nuno and Rogerio. Nuno is an Estate Agent and Rogerio owns a company that manages villas on behalf of clients. Villa El-Gharb is well known to us and it gives total peace and quiet, which most people want on holiday. The villa really is gorgeous.

We now live for 9 / 10 months each year in Albufeira.

Cancellation Policy:-

Holidaymakers who cancel at least 70 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount that they've paid, less 6% handling fee. If they cancel after that point, they will not get a refund. For this reason we stress the need to take out comprehensive Travel Insurance that includes a cancellation option.

Check In / Out
Check in is 3pm or after on the day of arrival unless agreed otherwise with the owner.
Check out is by 10am on the day of departure unless agreed otherwise with the owner.
Sunday entry will need to be agreed with the owner.

NOTE 1 - 25% DEPOSIT PAYABLE UPON BOOKING.

NOTE 2 - WHEN BOOKING A VILLA YOU SHOULD ENSURE THE VILLA IS LICENSED BY THE LOCAL COUNCIL IN PORTUGAL. IF NOT IT WILL NOT HAVE BEEN INSPECTED BY THE COUNCIL AND AWARDED A SAFETY CERTIFICATE. OUR VILLA IS LICENSED BY ALBUFEIRA COUNCIL.

NOTE 3 - MINIMUM AGE FOR BOOKING IS 25. LARGE GROUPS OF YOUNG SINGLE MALES AND FEMALES, STAG & HEN PARTIES ARE NOT ALLOWED.

NOTE 4 - WE OFFER ADDITIONAL COMFORT BY ALLOWING CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS VIA STRIPE. IF BOOKING, WE ISSUE A FORMAL INVOICE VIA STRIPE.

NOTE 5 - SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE VILLA. IF THERE IS EVIDENCE OF SMOKING IN THE VILLA THE SECURITY DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

NOTE 6 - A SECURITY DEPOSIT OF £250 WILL BE COLLECTED BY BANK TRANSFER JUST BEFORE ARRIVAL DATE. IT WILL BE RETURNED WITHIN 1 WEEK OF DEPARTURE UPON A CLEAN REPORT REGARDING DAMAGE ETC. RECEIVED FROM THE VILLA MANAGER.

NOTE 7 - NO PETS ARE ALLOWED.

NOTE 8 - NO EVENTS OR PARTIES ARE ALLOWED.

NOTE 9 - NOT ALL OF THE ITEMS DISPLAYED IN THE PHOTOS WILL BE AVAILABLE AS THEY ARE PERSONAL ITEMS E.G. PHOTOS, ORNAMENTS ETC.

NOTE 10 - PRICES QUOTED INCLUDE A FULL CLEAN UPON DEPARTURE. FOR 2 WEEK BOOKINGS A FULL CLEAN AND CHANGE OF BED LINEN / TOWELS WILL BE PROVIDED AFTER AROUND 7 NIGHTS. FOR 7 DAY BOOKINGS NO ADDITIONAL CLEANING WILL TAKE PLACE, HOWEVER, ADDITIONAL TOWELS WILL BE PROVIDED, BED LINEN WILL NOT BE CHANGED. ADDITIONAL CLEANING AND A CHANGE OF BED LINEN CAN BE REQUESTED FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

Unique Features

The villa is in a rural location surrounded by farmland and orchards, so away from the noisy tourist areas. It is very peaceful without being isolated. A bus stop is a few minutes walk and frequent services takes you into Albufeira in 10 minutes. There is a pub, café and small shop a walk away.

It is private, quiet and peaceful with lovely views over the countryside. Although a country location it is only 5 minutes drive to Albufeira old town or new town. Beaches can be accessed in 5 minutes as can many golf courses.

There is everything you could want close at hand with the Intermarche supermarket, fruit market, chemist, cafes and lovely local restaurants or a drive of 15 minutes gets you to the famous Algarve Shopping Centre, Guia, Vilamoura and 35 minutes drive from Faro Airport.

5/5 First Class Great villa, lovely pool and fantastic communication both in the UK and in Portugal. 5 minutes into Albufeira and 10 into Vilamoura so ideally placed for both. Cleaning service impeccable, with her coming 3 times a week. Would 100% recommend and will look to book in the future when we decide on dates. Cannot speak highly enough.

5/5 Fabulous Villa From start to finish excellent communications with Ken, manager and then with Nuno, owner, whilst at the villa. The villa was as described but exceeded our expectations equipped with more than everything you could ever need, daily maid/housekeeper keeping everything clean and tidy, (very discreetly) change of towels and bedding half way through the week. Plenty of space to spread out (our party of 7) fence erected around pool for our toddler. Plenty of seating, loungers, eating areas, BBQ. Situated just outside of Albufeira which we were glad of, very peaceful and quiet. Nowhere to eat/drink nearby except roadside bar/cafe about 5-10 mins walk away.

Villa El Gharb is a treasure and a joy to stay By Wilco Stayed 29-Apr-2023 We stayed at Villa El Gharb for 7 days with a family of 6 adults and a two year old baby. The place is spacious, the garden is beautiful with a small orchard that gives fresh lemons and the owners are lovely people. It is very secure with a wall around the entire property and an electrically operated gate. The fully equipped kitchen is a treasure cove for utensils :-) During our week, the place was thoroughly cleaned twice and pool cleaning was done once. It felt like staying with friends because the house is so cozy that you feel at home quickly. We loved the privacy of the bedroom and lovely bathroom upstairs. Thank you Rogerio, Nuno and Ken for the excellent arrangements and friendliness. No doubt where we will stay next time when we go to Albufeira.
