From £431 per week
Dar Nicola is a stylish and spacious 3 bedroom house with 2 private terraces with views of the Ocean,in a prime/quiet area of the Medina-5 mins from the beach. Perfect for friends, families or couples.
Overview
Dar Nicola is a beautiful house situated down a quiet quaint street in the heart of the ancient walled Medina., minutes from the hustle and bustle of the souks and with parking just 2 minutes walk away just outside the Bab Marrakesh entrance to the medina.
We have only recently bought the house which has been newly renovated, its a lovely house which we fell in love with the minute we saw it, its in a really peaceful location and the two private terraces provide fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the medina and the Port.
The house has a great location and has been featured in Place in the sun magazine, its minutes from the beach, the port, the souks and restaurants and cafes, but has a quiet, tranquil feel.
We have decorated the house in a contemporary moroccan/european style and have many things around the house that we have collected from our travels.
The house sleeps up to 6 people-
First floor- 1 large double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 WC, landing area.
Second floor- large open plan landing, bathroom with shower, 1 double bedroom, open plan living and dining room.
third floor- light and airy kitchen with french windows opening onto large private terrace (a further lovely higher private terrace is also accessible from the main terrace).
Essaouira
Essaouira lies on the Atlantic Coast, 100 miles from Marrakesh, it takes the name little town of ramparts from the impressive fortifications left by its portugese founders.
It is a charming cosmopolitan town, benefitting from blue skies and sandy beachs making it a popular destination for windsurfers, surfers, artists ,musicians. The Medina itself is a labyrinth of alleyways which lead to many souks, craft shops and small art galleries great for exploring-all in walking distance fom the house. Its not hard to see why we have fallen in love with the place, its a place for everyone- friends, families, children, couples!!!
The Medina and Beyond
The Medina (walled Town) is pedestrian only. Essaouira is a small town and everything is within walking distance (maps are available from the tourist information centre).
The large sandy beach in Essaouira is a great place for children to play and also for sunbathing, ther are also great cafes an restaurants right on the beach front.
You can also rent equipment and have tuition for windsurfing, kite surfing, body boarding. Beach buggies are also available for hire, as are camels and horses.
You can easily walk to castles in the sand -the rocks that inspired Jimi Hendrix ,and visit Diabet where Jimi Hendrix lived!! Further afield Sidi Kaouki is worth a visit by local bus or taxi.

I stayed at Dar Nicola in April with my 24 yr old daughter. This property is accurately described and did not disappoint. It has been charmingly decorated and felt loved. Said was very helpful and the taxi pickup arranged from Marrakech all went very smoothly. we loved being right in the middle of the old city and all the major features of Essaouira are within a few minutes walk. There are excellent restaurants nearby and helpful commentary from previous occupants in notebooks left in the house. the steep stairs would not be suitable for anyone with walking/climbing difficulties. sadly while we were there a seagull had decided to nest on the roof terrace so we were unable to get to the highest point for the views. nevertheless we had breakfast on the terrace each day. Its a beautiful place and the locals are very friendly. we had good weather but some strong cold winds meant lying on the beach was out of the question. but my daughter did a kite surfing course. all in all Id thoroughly recommend this property and Essaouira.

I love this place.... So much so that we went back for a 2nd year!
Fantastic location, beautiful property, amazing views & in a great city. The property is in a quiet location but close to everything. It has all the essential amenities (excluding internet or a tv - but they are nice not to have sometimes!) for an easy stay. Friendly neighbours & safe area. Great value for money, especially compared to hotels or other flats in the area.
Nicola & her man Said in Essaouria are both helpful, responsive & knowledgeable. Their suggestions & recommendations both in the house information book & direct from Said are excellent. The cleaner is efficient & regular.
Cant rate this property enough....

Dar Nicola was a lovely place to stay, made better by Said our contact and Samira our housekeeper. The house was immaculate and well equipped there was nt a single thing that we needed , a lovely place for self catering ensuring we had a lovely break.

We had a fabulous holiday. The riad was charming and close to everywhere we wanted to go. The service was excellent: picked up at the airport and great maid service not to mention Saids advice and tips. Even the boy next door was a delight. Many thanks to all concerned.

We have just retruned from a lovely holiday in Essaouira and cannot praise Dar Nicola highly enough. The property is the perfect base for exploring the Medina, yet is also close to the beach. We also found it very peaceful as it is situated in a quiet lane so, all in all, in a perfect spot. Said and Fatima were really helpful and were always on hand should we have needed them.
Dar Nicola is clean, well equipped and furnished with homely Morrocan touches that made the place really comfortable and welcoming and the roof terrace really added to the whole experience. I would highly recommend this property to everyone.

A beautiful house, close to all the attractions of Essaouira. The property has two roof terraces, with fantastic views of the town as far as the ocean. The property has been stunningly renovated, complete with local artefacts.
