Overview

Ta Nikola Farmhouse is a delightful traditional farmhouse located in the prestigious hamlet of Santa Lucia. Less than 1.5 km from the centre of Victoria is this superb 200 year old farmhouse a perfect retreat for anyone looking for a perfect break with every indulgence. Ta Nikola farmhouse has a homely feel, sleeping up to eight guests. Having been designed and furnished in a very individual style, all details in the property have been carefully thought out with Gozitan inspired décor.

On the entrance level there is an open dining and living space which spreads out beneath the 200-year old high arched ceiling. This is the heart of the farmhouse and the perfect place to relax with a drink by the roaring log fire in chilly winter nights. Yet due to the thick walls, it can be very cool and airy in the hot summer months.

In the living area there is a library of books and DVDs and a selection of board games. The first bedroom has access by a wooden staircase adjacent to the dining area on the ground floor. This is a double bedroom ideally suited to children with its low ceiling and being on a mezzanine level. The living and dining areas open onto a cosy kitchen that has everything you need for your self catering holiday. French doors lead you to a south facing enclosed courtyard with a built in barbecue, the ideal spot for breakfast in summer and with the luxury of a good sized private pool with Roman steps that are caressed by the suns rays all day. There is also a shower room with a toilet just outside the kitchen. Ta Nikola Farmhouse offers excellent comfort and convenient accommodation for those who embrace all types of Gozitan pursuits and a little pampering. The traditional stone staircase and the internal spiral wooden staircase both lead to the sunny authentic arched loggia, with lovely views over the swimming pool that leads you off to two other high ceiling bedrooms.

The second is a master bedroom with ample space and a comfy armchair with a private en suite shower room. The third is a triple and has also an en suite shower room and access to a private balcony. It can easily be made up to a family room upon request. Both bedrooms have electric overhead fans. At Ta Nikola farmhouse there is also a laundry room with a twin tub washing machine.

Awesome Mediterranean and relaxed atmosphere at Ta Nikola farmhouse the perfect place for parties and gathering!

This farmhouse is ideal for families, groups of friends or couples. It is more suited for summer than Winter, since 2 of the bedrooms have outdoor access, though covered access! It is cosy in Winter as well, since the two larger bedrooms will have direct sunlight on them all day long.

IMPORTANT: Whenever you have a specific time-frame for travelling and the farmhouse is not available, kindly contact us since there may be pre-bookings that from time to time may be cancelled.

The first thing to say was the communication with Marvik was excellent- He was very helpful and texted often with what was going on in the village.

The second thing to say was how clean the property was. It was spotless and the bedding and towels were like hotel quality.

The villa was very well laid out and the pool was of a good size. The sun loungers were new ish and very comfortable and the table and chairs out the back were perfectly sized. The outside toilet again was spotless.
Brand new fridge freezer and washing machine outside and the outside lights were all good.

The bedrooms upstairs were large and had everything you needed in them. The smaller one downstairs we didn’t use but was a double room size.

The kitchen although small had everything ui needed in it and the electric oven and hob. Were good.
The villa is situated at one end of the village however it’s only a 10 minute walk to a local supermarket and bakery.

It is also very close to Victoria so all you needed was a quick cab ride to the town.

The pool could have been cleaned for us coming to the villa but in fairness, we were a last minute booking.
The pool area gets the sun from morning till around 4pm.

All in all, very happy with the Villa and the location and the communication from Marvik.

This is a very charming property, Marvik and his mother Victoria looked after us extremely well organizing ferry transfers and car rental and a welcome hamper, milk, eggs ,coffee etc on our arrival. The week we were there was very hot and although the rooms were quite warm at night the lovely pool more than made up for it with early morning
and late night dips. Overall the property is well equipped set in a quiet
village with a local shop for the basics close by. Gozo is a small but interesting island and is very safe, we will definitely return if only to
see the sunset at Dwerja one of the islands many simple delights.

Marvic and his family are the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble with them. When our boat trip got cancelled Marvic even went as far to reorganise the day so we able to make it out to sea after all. The farmhouse itself was very roomy and had everything we needed. The pool was very welcoming and was well used throughout our time there. We definitely recommend this property, especially knowing you will be looked after by Marvic and his family. We had a fantastic holiday.

Our family arrived in Gozo by seaplane and what a fantastic start to our holiday at TaNikola. We had a wonderful time from start to finish. The transfers to and from Gozo were faultless thanks to all the arrangements of Mr Marvik Borg and family, the owners of the farmhouse. The farmhouse is in the quiet village of Santa Lucija which is ideally situated for discovering Gozo. It is walking distance to the capital Victoria but an early start, a sun hat and bottle of water is essential in the heat of July/August. We hired a car for some of our time there and you can do as much or as little as you like. The farmhouse was just what we imagined and was equipped for our needs. The pool was a welcome friend in the heatwave of 40 degress during our stay! We are all now missing Gozo and its relaxed way of life. We will definitely return in the future.

It was a relaxing stay in a calm place well equipped. Master bedroom as well as the other rooms especially the living room were tastefully furnished.
Pool was nice and well tempered.
Terrace with enough and new furniture.
Location so close to all activities. I would very much appreciate to stay there again and enjoyed every day.

Our stay at Ta Nikola was most enjoyable. It was clean and comfortable and provided a good base from which we were able to explore the lovely island of Gozo. The small welcome hamper was a nice touch and much appreciated on arrival. The owners were very supportive without being intrusive, and came without hesitation wen we needed assistance with the oven, which was quickly remedied. We would definitely rent this property again, having confidence in knowing where we would be staying. Thank you so much, Dianne and family.

Our friends stayed at Tal Barun and we were lucky enough to stay at ta Nikola in St Lucia. Both properties were so comfortable. Marvik made our stay so pleasant. The houses were clean, and tidy, full of all the necessary items to make our stay pleasant. The bed linen was fresh and clean, and there were plenty of towels. The pool at Ta Nikola was cold (it didn't stop us though) and there was plenty of garden furniture.Marvik made arrangements for us to go horse riding at Gozo Stables, which we all enjoyed. The local produce in the little cabinet was a nice touch as was the welcome package on arrival. The little store in St Lucia was ok for our daily bread and milk, but we prefered to shop at the supermaket called St Marys. We would definately return to Gozo and would definately book one of Marviks farm houses. He made our experience easy from initial enquiry until the day we left. He even bought our breakage deposit to us in Malta after we were stranded due to the volcanic ash problems that affect airspace. Thanks Marvic for all of your hard work and efforts, we had an amazing holiday, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending your company. · By The Hoffs from England on 5/13/2010 for a stay in 4/1/2010

This is my second visit to Gozo. After a wonderful holiday with a group of 10 of us at Ta Kitarra farmhouse, it seemed silly to book with another company. Marvik and anna are really lovely people and the company is family-run, which is something I personally like investing my money into, rather than a big company. The farmhouse itself is beautiful. The beds are comfy and the decor is wonderfully traditional and homelike but not scary-Maltese, as some of my older relatives in Malta choose for their guest bedrooms (i.e. no life-sized photo of the Pope over your bed!). The town is quiet, and allows you to relax by the pool in peace. We rented a car - well Marvik organised a car to be waiting - and could easily be in central Victoria in five minutes. As for Gozo, we had a great time. Ramla bay is the best beach going, and Xlendi is amazing for swimming. The sea was already warm. The people on Gozo are really friendly and honest. Four of us each put in 50euros for food for the week, and we ended up with 30euros to spare. Maltese and Gotzian wine is improving each year and this year I had some lovely bottles.Back at the farmhouse, if we needed anything, Marvik's mother was ready to help. Last year she gave us barbecue coal, and this year washing powder, all extra from our usual complementary hamper. Being half-Maltese, I can safely say you get treated like a relative with this company. I did not know Marvik before 2009. Ten friends wanted to visit and my family could not cater for that amount in one house, so suggested a farmhouse. I looked at so many and Marvik's reply immediately struck out at me. He was polite, best value for money, available to organise car hire and transfers are competitive rates.I will be choosing to stay there again, and this year a couple of new faces came and we're already thinking about Gozo 2011. But where to stay is one answer we already have: Ta Nikola!· By Melissa JK from London, UK on 6/17/2010 for a stay in 5/1/2010

We had a lovely time relaxing in this peaceful neighborhood and farmhouse. Everything was very well taken care of, very clean and the leasors extremely professional, polite and amicable. I'd definitely return as well as recommend it to others.· By Gabriella A from Malta on 5/5/2010 for a stay in 4/1/2010

The farmhouse is full of character and we had a lovely stay. We felt very comfortable and the pool just looks great. Pity the weather was still a little cold otherwise we'd have loved to have used it. · By jlists from London on 4/22/2010 for a stay in 2/1/2010

We had a truly relaxing family holiday at Ta'Nikola. The farmhouse was perfect, with the lovely clean pool ready for us to cool off when it got too hot. We hired an air conditioning unit which helped cool us down too! Marvik, Anna and family were wonderful hosts and did everything they could to ensure our stay was comfortable. We arrived in Gozo by sea plane which was fantastic, hired a car and discovered the island as much as possible. The farmhouse is ideally located and I often had an early morning walk into Victoria before walking back before the sun got too hot - hats and suncream a must. We hope to return again someday soon but in the meantime we have some great memories. · By The Whitehouse family from United Kingdom on 4/1/2010 for a stay in 7/1/2009

Our family stayed here for a week and it was a perfect base for our Gozo holiday. The log burner was an added bonus!Nice pool out the back garden and a BBQ area too.The village is a short distance to both Victoria (the capital) and the sea. · By TheVinyards from Worcestershire, UK on 3/18/2010 for a stay in 1/1/2009
