We recently enjoyed a lovely week at the Villa, we were a mixed group of 10 adults and children, ranging from under one to over 70 and the villa provided everything we needed and more, very spacious, very well kept and furnished, including baby high chair and cot. Gorgeous pool with outdoor dining areas, BBQ and fully equipped kitchen. Alan, the host was brilliant, providing us with great local information and recommendations for beaches, restaurants, local wine and vineyards, he was just a text away if we ever needed anything, and would respond or appear within minutes. He showed great concern and kindness when one of our group became unwell and directed us to the medical centre. He even met us at the airport, which was a quick 20 minute drive. The location of the villa is a little bit out of town so you would definitely need a car, but the quiet location is the perfect getaway. And only a short 10 minute drive in to the town and various beautiful beaches on your doorstep it's not really an issue. we would highly recommend Capo coda cavallo for the breathtaking views and Cala brandinchi beach- absolutely stunning! We cannot praise the villa or it's owner enough, and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending Smeralda Villa to anyone - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Smeralda and we have had such a lovely stay. The villa met all our needs and with 6 adults and 5 children it was very spacious-never did we feel like we were on top of each other! The pool was great touch, perfect for a late afternoon swim. Alan was extremely helpful with ideas and recommendations for places to go and was always at the end of a phone/message if we ever needed him. I am sure we will be visiting Sardinia again in the near future and will definitely be back to the villa.

Beautiful unspoiled countryside. Beaches to die for. The locals are welcoming and the cuisine is excellent. The villa is the perfect retreat. Light and airy with a wonderful swimming pool. It's a great base for a Sardinian holiday. Sitting on the balcony at night, relaxing with a glass of wine and watching the twinkling lights of Padru in the distance it is so peaceful. Perfect spot for the "great escape"

Great Villa, no frills, but everything you need. Short drive to village of Padru for a good supermarket and butchers. Longer drive to San Teodora with large choice of eateries and La Cinta beach. All within easy reach including good choice of beaches along the coast north of San Teodoro. Do try the day trip over to La Maddelena and its satellite islands, breathtaking! Alan the villa owner is literally just a text away, he appears as if by magic, always on hand to help with queries or problems. Thanks Alan, for a great weeks holiday!

Alan, the owner of the villa met us at the airport and we followed in our hire car on a 20 minute journey to the villa, calling at a winery en route where we bought some excellent wine at only €2 per litre!! The villa is very spacious and occupies a site on a hillside overlooking woodland with views of the village of Padru and the mountains beyond. The lounge and kitchen are on the first floor, to taken advantage of the superb views from the balcony, where we enjoyed watching the sun set while having our evening meal. Alan kindly accompanied us to the nearby town of San Teodoro and gave us the benefit of his local knowledge on cafes, supermarkets and bakeries there. He also took us to the beautiful beach of La Sinta. The Agritorisimo Casteddu is a 20 minute walk from the villa where we enjoyed an excellent lunch, definitely to be recommended !! If you are looking for a chilled relaxing week away from it all, but within a short drive from the airport and the beautiful beaches at San Teodoro, this is the place for you.

Just returned from a magic week in this spacious, well appointed villa. If you want 'away from it all ' you can have it here and, conversely, if you want a little more going on you can visit San Teodoro or the small town of Padru only 5 minutes away by car. Alan, the villa owner, could not have been more helpful. He advised us and helped us in many ways but was never intrusive. We were very comfortable here and the views, oh the views are spectacular especially from the balcony where you can sit and have your meals or just sit after a swim or an outing and enjoy the beauty surrounding you.

Merle D Jun 2017

Met at airport by Alan who drove with us to the Villa taking us enroute to supermarket and introducing us to the local vineyard where we bought some excellent wine to get us through the week. Villa beautiful, as a swimmer the pool was a great size to do lengths in the morning before laying around it for the rest of the day. View from the balcony is outstanding and we had most of our meals there taking in the view. We did eat indoors one night and on another used the barbecue in the garden ate at the dining areas outside. All the bedrooms were a good size with great en suite bathrooms and good power showers. Great size kitchen, well appointed with lots of cutlery, plates etc. Alan was on hand when needed and gave us the benefit of his local knowledge, including free parking areas in town and best ice cream shops! He also brought us yo one of the local beaches... which was gorgeous. There are a couple of local Agriturisimo restaurants within walking distance .... they are fantastic! Padro is 5 mins down the road by car and there are local restaurants and a supermarket there. However, San Teodoro is only 15 mins (15km) away by car and there are a range of great shops and restaurants there. We all agreed we wanted to return to the Villa in future as it was so peaceful and set in such a beautiful location

The villa was ideal for a large family group, each of the five bedrooms were spacious with en-suite facilities and the sizeable open plan kitchen-diner-lounge was excellent; perfect for dinner and evenings in together. We enjoyed sundowners on the balcony each evening watching the sunset behind the mountain opposite. The pool is good size too with lots of sun loungers. We had lunch alfresco and barbeques in the evening as there is a nice outdoor dining area too. The villa is only half an hour or so from various beautiful beaches. We can highly recommend the Agritourismo that is only a 15 minute walk away, it's called "L'Olivastro" after the ancient olive trees on their land. The food was excellent. There's nothing going on in the next village, Biasi, which is within walking distance but a five minute drive will take you into Padru where there are a couple of good bars and a pizza place.

Secluded within a oak forest the Villa Esmeralda provided the perfect retreat for our two families. Spacious accommodation and the large pool was a welcome sight after spending the day at one of the many local beaches. 15 minutes away is San Theodoro, a delightful local town with a great evening market and a good choice of restaurants. The local Agriturismo was a real treat and made for a memorable evening in a lovely setting. Even the kids at 13 and 16 enjoyed the food and atmosphere although they equally enjoyed the BBQ’s by the pool watching the stars. A enjoyable family trip and a place we will visit again.

Amanda P Sep 2016

This is a perfect villa for a large family or a big group of friends. The big living room is comfortable and cool and the large table great for family meals and kitchen well equipped. We alternated days by the lovely pool with visits to t he magnificent beaches and local excursions. Alan the owner is always on hand but not intrusive and a mine of local knowledge that beats any holiday rep I have ever encountered. Book a boat trip but do it early as they get booked up. Sardinia exceeded my expectations and the villa was a perfect quiet location to enjoy all the delights on offer.

What can I say except that all the reviews people have posted are true. I am from Australia so we booked by what other had said in the reviews and we where not disappointed. We had peace and quite and a great pool to relax around and plenty of space for 7 friend and 2 kids from Australia and England. The villa has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. We all had a great time catching up with old friends and exploring Sardinia. The owner was very helpful from when we booked and during our stay.

Joanne J Jul 2016

This was our first trip to Sardinia and we loved it - we recommend the area and the villa if you like to be away from it all but not to far to have company if you want it! The booking was smooth and Alan was great - always responded very promptly to any enquires. It was a pleasure to meet Alan at an 'easy to find' rendezvous spot just outside of the airport, whereby he guided us to the villa, which was greatly appreciated. The villa is spacious, with very large bedrooms, good en-suite bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen and a fabulous size pool - great for big kids! We enjoyed a couple of bbq's at the villa and Alan was on-hand to help with restaurant recommendations and bookings. The view from the balcony over the valley is fabulous (don't forget to pack some binoculars)! We all enjoyed the local beaches with beautiful water, both colour and temperature. We enjoyed a great boat trip from La Cinta beach which is about 15 mins from the Villa by car on good roads and has good parking facilities. San Teodoro came alive in the evening with many resturants and shops also street entertaninment (not sure if this was just a festival or every night event - we went on a Sunday). A fantastic, thoroughly enjoyable weeks break and we would love to return one day!

A very relaxing stay for all the family. Alan contacted us as our flight arrived and we followed him to the villa which is easy to get to once you know where it is. Very clean and spacious with the swimming pool constantly bathed in sun. The children were very happy between the pool, BBQ, playstation, WiFi and music player. The kitchen and living area were large and relaxing with wonderful panoramic views. Alan was available if we had any concerns but only made occasional fleeting visits to ensure our stay was going well and maintain the pool. An easy drive to the beaches but we enjoyed lazy days around the pool and hope to return soon.

We spent a very pleasant 10 days here. The villa is large and well appointed in a secluded part of the island but within easy reach of the airport,a number of excellent beaches, shops and other attractions. The fact that Alan is on hand when needed to help with directions, tourist advice, shopping, property maintenance made our stay extremely easy. I would thoroughly recommend it.

What a truly wonderful holiday experience. The house is definitely situated in a tranquil location with every facility you could possibly want. It is lovely to sit out on the balcony, not only having breakfast and admiring the view, but also on a balmy evening with glass in hand watching the lights of Padru twinkling in the distance. If you are looking for peace and relaxation then this house has it in abundance. That said, you are only 10 minutes by car to several beautiful beaches and San Teodoro with its shops and cafes. Alan certainly goes out of his way to ensure your stay is comfortable and hassle free (even meeting you at the airport) and provides plenty of information on places to visit and things to do. This was our first visit to Sardinia and Smeralda Villa and we will certainly be back to both.

I really cannot recommend Smerelda Villa highly enough. Tucked away in the hills sufficiently for privacy yet still just a convenient 10 minute drive from some beautiful and bustling towns, we were thrilled with the location. That, however, is just the start. The villa itself is impeccable condition, having been renovated only recently. The walls are pristeen white, the kitchen is of a high spec and the rooms are spacious. A beautiful balcony awaits to watch the sunset - it really is great for stargazing too - and we had some wonderful suppers (and morning coffees) on it. Alan has gone to great effort with finishing touches too - rarely have I encountered it to such a degree in fact - with beautiful poolside fairylights really adding to the wow factor. Although a little chilly, we managed to use the pool as early as May too, adding another dimension to the holiday, and there's also a barbecue facility in place (all you need to do is buy some charcoal) with further seating poolside. If we are ever in Sardinia again, we will certainly be getting back in touch. Thank you, Alan.

As someone who lives and works in a city, to stay in a villa that was spacious, peaceful and tranquil was heaven. The vast open views were simply breath-taking. The villa itself met all our needs it was clean, comfortable and its locality was only a short drive away to all amenities. It was so nice to have the option of going to the beach or if we wanted to chill out by the pool.

Our first time to Sardinia - left us wanting to explore this vast island. Beautiful beaches and very pretty scenery. Would definitely recommend a holiday here and the villa was lovely and bright and very spacious. We all had a great time and have many happy memories of our stay.

At first, Smeralda Villa seems a little out of the way but we soon realised that the reality is you have complete privacy to enjoy a perfect holiday. The villa is spacious and spotless. The swimming pool is immaculate. The view from the balcony is breath taking. You sit there at night watching the twinkling lights, faraway in the village of Padru. The village sits at the foot of a mountain range which become silhouettes as darkness falls. The only noise comes from the sheep who have bells tied around their necks and the bells ring softly as the sheep move through the mountain range. The best and nearest airport is Olbia (Costa Smeralda). Its only 25 minutes away so you dont have far to travel on arrival. Padru is the nearest village and if you want to find a great beach and somewhere with some bars, restaurants and tourist shops then San Teodoro is 10 minutes from the villa by car. The villa provides a great retreat for those looking for the perfect chill factor. I even saw a red kite and an eagle from the balcony one day. Alan, who hands over the keys, is extremely helpful and nothing is a problem. He will also cook, for an additional cost, which we arranged on a couple of occasions. He uses fresh, local ingredients and impressed us with his delicious chicken lasagne. He also was able to source some wonderful red wine! You definitely need a car if youre considering Sardinia for a holiday. It allows you to sample many of the sandy, nearby beaches with azure blue sea. The Sardinians are very friendly and enjoy showing their island off to its full potential. I am seriously considering returning to this fabulous location and the villa in the future.

Tucked away in the hills between Padru and San Teodoro, we never would have found the place had Alan not been standing of the main road. Make sure you have a car and probably a sat nav. The villa was immaculate and the pool is huge - Easily enough for 10 people. Fortunately/unfortunately, it was just me and my fiancée but we made the most of it. Alan who was staying nearby was almost like a concierge/groundsman, and recommended places nearby which was helpful and really added to our holiday. The outside barbeque was a touch, right under the trees so you could have lunch without having to worry too much about the sun. Upstairs is open plan and has great views of the surrounding hills - I think we even saw eagles flying over the trees. The master bedroom and en suite was more than enough for the two of us. All of the rooms have loads of space and like before wouldnt struggle to sleep 10. Highly recommend both the villa and Sardinia... had an amazing time

I had a great time at Smeralda Villa. We spent there a week in June with a group of friends. The villa is surrounded by cork oaks and you have lots of privacy. Nearest beaches are approximately 12km away (10 min by car) and every day you can actually go to a different place. Its well worth it. Villa owners provided some guide books with info about local attractions which comes very useful if you are into sightseeing. If you decide to stay in the villa for the day you will enjoy it by the pool. The villa itself met our needs. Most of the rooms are large and airy, each with built-in wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms. You will also appreciate large kitchen and big lounge with a terrace overlooking the surrounding area. Stunning view! We had some issues with running hot water, but you can expect that when most of people are deciding to have shower at the same time. Also, cold(er) showers are good for your skin ) I am definitely missing the view from the lounge and dining area. There is no obstruction to it so enjoy Sardinia mountains whatever the weather. Big thanks to Alan, the owner, who proved to be very helpful. Thanks for arranging local meat, vine and cheese delivery. It was special, and delicious! You cant say no to it :) Highly recommended the villa for everyone who would like to experience Sardinia at its best. Monika

Your villa and our holiday were fantastic. Gianpiero and his daughter were extremely nice to us. They took care of us very well right from the pick-up, supermarket shopping and giving us tips on the nearby places. The villa was Spotless! & white, bedrooms and bathrooms are huge and well ventilated. The huge open kitchen was my favorite room. The bathroom – the shower and its accessories are brilliant! The washing machine and iron table in the entrance was such a relief for us. We spotted it as soon as we entered the house. Thanks! The clothes line outside and the little extra hanger was very useful on the outside. The high pressure water hose to clean or wash our feet or even rinse the beach clothes before entering the villa was handy. The important notice (Read Me) instructions and all the nice books about Sardinia were extremely helpful. The location is an easy find and we did like the nearby grape vineyards, Pizzeria and the view from the balcony. The beaches were fantastic – blue>blue>blue. We visited quite a few of them. I would definitely recommend this place to people and friends. If we have a family reunio n as a group of 6-10 people- this would be our only choice. Once again, many thanks for this beautiful experience. My wife and I loved Sardinia. Kind Regards, Nithya & Jagan (Holland)

The villa was wonderful- thank you. Its a beautifully built, well equipped building. I would be more than happy to give some feedback and Im sure it will be in keeping with many other peoples feedback as it is quite broad. The villa was wonderful- thank you. Its a beautifully built, well equipped building. Gian Piero was extraordinarily helpful. His local knowledge of places to go and things to see and do was extremley helpful. Once again, many thanks for letting us stay in the villa for such a fantastic price. Were trying to convince the family to go again already! Sardinia is beautiful and some of the beaches are simply breath taking! Dr P Chadha United Kingdom

Travelling with children and grandparents can be stressful. (Parents understand this.) The villa is huge and spotlessly clean with large well-proportioned rooms, you are not bumping into one another, great bedrooms, bathrooms and showers. Everybody gets a hot shower, unlike other places we have stayed where there is a tiny boiler. (The first person gets a hot shower and the rest a cold one.) If you like peace and quiet with stunning views then this is the place for you. We did go into San Teodoro, Olbia and other places but were glad we could leave the noise and buzz behind. Thanks for the GPS coordinates to the villa, supermarkets, restaurants etc. This was so helpful and stress free when driving in a strange town. Keeping kids constantly amused is always difficult but having the pool kept them happy for hours, along with the play station and films. There was plenty of outdoor space with a nice barbecue area. I could go on. Basically the villa, area and beaches are beautiful. I have never seen such crystal clear water. We didnt venture to far from the villa as we found we had everything there for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. I would certainly book this villa again. Andrew Mac (Glasgow)

My name is Alan and I live in Galloway, South West Scotland. My wife and I like to cycle through the beautiful forests near our home. During Spring and Summer, the forest floor is covered in snow drops and blue bells. We often encounter deer and red squirrels during our cycling trips. It is truly a magical place where one can enjoy the peace and quiet. When we were looking for a home in Sardinia we were looking for something similar. We enjoy the peace and tranquillity which Sardinia offers along with the sunshine, stunning beaches and crystal clear waters. We think we have found the perfect spot here in Sardinia and look forward to welcoming you.
