Very Special Holiday Villa In Abruzzo, Italy. Just For Two.

Villa with 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms and private pool in Casoli, Italy

From €567 per week

Italian holiday rental, with pool and stunning views. Just For Two

Overview

Here's a different type of Italy holiday just for the two of you...

One of just three tranquil villas - each of them only for couples - set in beautiful, unspoiled countryside, with wraparound views.

Converted from a 19th century barn, each of our villas is identical in layout and amenities, so none is 'better' than the others. Each has it's own private entrance and facilities.

Inside, you'll find your villa is light, cool and airy. There's a king-size double bed (or two singles if you prefer); a clean, modern, fully-tiled bathroom with walk-in shower enclosure; a kitchen with fridge, 4-burner hob, and oven (plus all the cutlery, glasses, pots, pans and utensils you'll need !); and space for you to relax and enjoy it all.

And air-conditioning, central heating, and wifi internet access are all included in the price.

Right outside your door, there's your own private space on the big sun terrace, with table, sun umbrella and a couple of chairs. Perfect for breakfast; al fresco dining; or a nightcap under the stars.

Alongside our pool, there's another big south-facing sun terrace, with comfy sunbeds and umbrellas.
All this - plus private car-parking - in a landscaped acre bordered by olive groves.

And where exactly are we ?

Welcome to Abruzzo - it’s Italy’s best-kept secret ! Well away from the beaten tourist track - yet easily accessible - the region offers fantastic-value holidays well away from Italy’s usual crowds.

Where is Abruzzo ? Right on Rome’s doorstep ! Head due east - and in an hour, you’ll be passing the signs welcoming you to the region.

With a larger proportion of protected landscapes in relation to its size than anywhere else on the continent, Abruzzo is known as ‘The Greenest Region in Europe’.

Within its boundaries are three National Parks, all offering pristine forests and mountains, with truly spectacular scenery - and home to wolves, bears and golden eagles - and crossed by well-signposted trails along which you can just go for a stroll - or a serious hike.

Or if you prefer to be beside the sea, within half-an-hour of us are the superb, sandy beaches of the Adriatic.

In winter you can ski; in summer the temperatures are reliable and settled. And the pace of life here is laid-back, relaxed and friendly !

What a beautiful area to visit - the scenery is just breath taking. Rob and Linda were very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive and nothing was too much trouble - they even gave us a tour of the area so the we knew where to find local markets etc. Excellent recommendations for trips out and restaurants too. It really is a haven to kick back, relax and unwind. Pool setting is stunning and we even swam in late May. We will definitely be back. Thank you for looking after us so well.

If you are looking for a romantic place for 2 or even going with other couples you could not wish to find a more idyllic setting. The driving instructions to get to our villa were absolutely fantastic and for once we did not get lost. Our hosts who live on site could not have been more helpful - places to visit, places to eat and they booked our restaurant as well as giving us detailed directions, places to shop and things to do. The swimming pool was gorgeous and always clean and beautifully kept. The villa is perfect for 2, well equipped, spotlessly clean and well maintained, and the air conditioning made the hot days and evenings a pleasure. Even beach towels were provided which was great especially if travelling with limited suitcase space. Our trips out to the seaside and mountains were delightful and all with fantastic driving instructions from our host. Our host informed us about local events happening in the evenings with firework displays and indeed the two that we attended were absolutely spectacular. So, if you are looking for a place to rest, relax, read, swim, sunbathe and be on your own then look no further. Thank you so much to David and Pauline who helped make our holiday so enjoyable. Sylvia and Ian, London

This was our first visit to Abruzzo and we werent disappointed. If you are looking for somewhere away from the crowds this is it. A beautiful setting with spectacular views set amongst olive groves. The villa was very well appointed and we appreciated the ground coffee and other little touches. A lovely swimming pool and David and Pauline were always helpful and gave us lots of tips about the area and even printed out individual directions to help us negotiate the windy roads to get us to our destination. We are keen walkers and tried several of the well known trails of differing lengths and difficulty from coastal paths to mountain peaks of the Majella National Park. Newton, Hampshire, England

We spent four days in villa Pesco Falcone and our break was relaxing from start to finish. David made sure we had excellent driving instructions to get to the villa and we did not get lost once. The villa is situated well off the beaten track with stunning views over the olive clad hills in which it is set and the dramatic mountains beyond. Throughout our stay David and Pauline were both so friendly and helpful, suggesting days out for us and making sure we were well looked after, but never in an interfering way. It was great knowing we could ask for directions and suggestions if we needed them. The temptation was to stay and sit by the pool enjoying the view by day and eating on our terrace of an evening, but the hospitality we received at a local restaurant suggested by David and Pauline prompted us to return there on our last night. The views from the villa are amazing and you could hear a pin dro p it is so peaceful. The villa itself was wonderful, very well equipped with lovely homely touches. The region of Abruzzo is a wonderful place and is so quiet and unspoilt. Thank you so much David and Pauline for such a wonderful holiday, we will definitely be back. Sarah and John. West Sussex, England

Believe the reviews that say David and Pauline have it right...it is a lovely villa, in a delightful location - everything clean and welcoming, just right after a journey from the UK. Wine and beer to welcome the weary travellers, and excellent "pre-arrival" instructions and helpful hints. The "welcome book" is filled with helpful hints, clear directions and instructions (do your shopping at Scrizz - the ladies sing while stacking shelves!) Filling our days relaxing by the pool, and wandering the lane at night listening to crickets and watching fireflies...just magic. We didnt want to leave, and have already started planning our next adventure in Abruzzo. Thank you, David and Pauline!!! Debbe and Brian. Swansea, South Wales

My wife and i, and another couple, enjoyed 4 nights at this lovely spot. David and Pauline were amazingly friendly, helpful and instructive. Perfect for hosts to visitors unsure of the langage and the location. Each day was special as the small towns, wonderful restaurants and local sights were tackled one by one. And through it all, as a refuge from the activity was the perfectly peaceful patio at our Villa. From their, you could see much of the Abruzzo countryside with unobstructed views. We also used the fully stocked kitchen to make two dinners so we could sit on the patio and enjoy the lovely evenings with our friends. We felt we were in a private estate in the Italian Hills! We totally enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone travelling to or through the Abruzzo region. Make sure to follow the restaurant suggestions that David and Pauline have in their well written booklet of everything to do in the area. Or just chat with them...as they are perfectly available and willing to help. Thank yous to David and Pauline for making our trip so memorable! Gary, San Francisco, USA

Jurjen. Netherlands

We can thoroughly recommend this as a relaxing, peaceful location for couples looking for somewhere off the beaten track and well away from tourist resorts and crowds. After a reassuring chat with David, prior to our booking, we were emailed detailed directions and helpful hints before our arrival. Inside each villa a most useful welcome book has been complied, which includes useful instructions and places to visit. David and Pauline are perfect hosts, friendly and welcoming and are on hand to give directions and recommend or book restaurants. The villas are most comfortable, well maintained and extremely well equipped, including thoughtful touches like an umbrella, torch, plasters and a selec tion of books. The terrace area offers amazing views of the surrounding countryside where you can sit back with a bottle of wine and enjoy opportunities to observe the local wildlife. The pool area is delightful, peaceful and private and well looked after. What more could you want? The photographs and information on the web site say it all! Thank you David and Pauline for a most enjoyable stay and for making us feel so welcome. Jill, Kent

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing break and Villa Pesco Falcone gave us exactly that, very well equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The view from the terrace is a joy to behold and so very peaceful. The pool is clean and a refreshing distraction from the sunshine. David and Pauline are great hosts and we found their information and communication second to none. They are always available to offer help, book restaurants or give directions. They have an extensive knowledge of the local area and are able to give accurate, honest information regarding local sights etc. Abruzzo is typically Italian and has a lot to offer, the Adriatic one way, the mountains the other - there is so much to see if you so desire or just laze by the pool watching the red kites soaring on the thermals -wonderful! We would not hesitate in recommending Villa Pesco Falcone to others. We will be back. Peter, London

Thank you David & Pauline we have had a really fantastic time… as regulars to this area we honestly feel that finding Villa Pesco Falcone has put the icing on this already impressive cake! We now cant think of a better place to unwind and relax, especially sitting by (or in) the pool staring out at the ever changing mountains and hills, Its been the perfect place for our Abruzzo holiday. Youve created a haven of peace and tranquillity which restores the soul. I will have no hesitation in recommending this to friends and family and know that they will have an equally wonderful time. The Abruzzo region of Italy has so much to offer in the way of great scenery, excellent walking, interesting historic sites, brilliant shopping in the larger towns such as Pescara and fabulous restaurants at great prices… I don’t think we will ever tire of it. The villas offer everything you need and more for a self catering holiday with great quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings… welcoming touches such as wine, basil and lemons. David & Pauline really have thought of everything, they check in discreetly to ensure your having a great holiday offering hints, tips, directions and sharing their local knowledge…they have obviously worked very hard creating the right balance for a perfect getaway and we are so glad they did! Please can we come again… Tracey and Neil, Northumberland, England

Vriendelijke ontvangst. Albert, Holland

Both having extremely busy jobs and lives, my partner and I needed a complete rest and we certainly had this. The villas are just as they are described with everything required for a perfect stay, even down to the umbrella and re-usable shopping bag. The villa was very comfortable and the welcome passage including chilled wine and beer was just what we wanted after a hot drive. David and Pauline could not have been more friendly and helpful. David has a very comprehensive knowledge of things to do in the area and good, detailed instructions of how to get there superb restaurants and festivals within easy reach. We shall definately be back next year to sit on the terrace in the silence, drinking wine and looking at the stars. An excellent holiday choice. Victoria and Enrico

Nico and Wilhelmina. Holland

Weve regularly taken self-catering rental holidays and our stay in Abruzzo ranks among the very best. Our villa had a good amount of space for two people was absolutely spotless and finished and equipped to a high standard. The attention to detail is impressive. You dont expect to see an umbrella (not needed, but nice touch) or shopping bags for your trip to the supermarket as part of the standard equipment - nor to be driven round by the owner on your arrival and shown the neighbourhood. Although all three villas were occupied during our stay, privacy outside each is maintained with tall evergreen hedging and theres a generous amount of space for sunbeds and umbrellas round the pool, so it never felt crowded. Quite the reverse in fact - rather exclusive ! The areas delightful and eating out is astonishingly good value. The sea and mountains are within easy reach and the roads are quiet. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone. David and Mel. Essex, England

We wanted to write to thank you both for helping us to have such a wonderful holiday. The villa itself was perfect, the area beautiful and both you and Pauline were so kind and helpful. We had a really fantastic time and are really grateful for everything you did for us in Italy. In fact, I told my parents what a great time we had, and they are thinking about booking for next year, so perhaps you will see them in the future! P.S. We went to one of the Rome restaurants that you recommended and it was fantastic and far better value than many around it! So thank you for that also! Annie and Ben. London Annie and Ben, London

Our stay here was one of total peace and tranquillity. The establishment is meticulously kept, inside and out, and the owners were extremely helpful in recommending places to visit, eat, etc. The views from the pool and the beautiful gardens are superb. Sitting on the terrace in the evening with a glass of wine and watching the lights come on in all the neighbouring towns is a magical experience. This is a little-known part of Italy for most foreigners, but well worth investigating. Food and wine is local and unbelievably good (and inexpensive). and Pauline and David are more than happy to tell your their favorites. Their knowledge of the area is exceptional, so that if you want to do something besides laze around reading and soaking up the scenery you can follow their accurate directions and venture off to explore new things. We highly recommend this for a pleasurable, relaxing holiday. Gail and Vincent, Yorkshire, England

Stayed here 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. David and Pauline were the perfect hosts. Unobtrusive but always nearby if you needed any assistance. They also provided a wealth of information on the region and things to do, and great restaurant recommendations. The villas are comfortable and appointed with all the necessities that a couple would require for a stay. We loved the view from the bed out through a large square window over the surrounding countryside. Would strongly recommend a stay here. K & N. London

My wife and I spent a week here in May 2012. David and Pauline were fantastic throughout the week and were on hand whenever we needed guidance on getting around, shopping or eating out. We spent most of the time by the pool just relaxing and the views are absolutely breathtaking. The pictures do not do the views justice! The property was very clean and very well maintained and I would highly recommend this property to any couple who just want to get away for some relaxing chill out time at a stunning location. Local restaurants are crazily cheap. My wife and I had a two course meal at the Bucaniere with wine and Peroni beer that came to €20 for both of us. I would highly recommend the Piccione restaurant too that David and Pauline will book for you. We will definately be going back ! Chris, Crawley, England

My husband and I have spent two vacations with Pauline and David at their lovely villas in the rugged hillsides of Abruzzo. It is a peaceful location with spectacular views of the rolling hills and mountains. Everything is impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. The villa is neat as a pin! From the well fitted kitchens, the spa like bathrooms, to the comfortable beds everything you need is available to meet every need. The pool area is lovely and a perfect place to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery. The owners are always available to give advise on where to go and what to do. There are resources available in the rentals with ideas and itineraries. They are in readily helpful in every way. We couldnt ask for more helpful hosts. We would return in a minute, but we have decided to purchase our own place in Abruzzo. It is a wonderful part of Italy that is worth exploring. Lauren, Seattle, USA

We found that David and Pauline offered something very special at their villas. The beauty combined with the peace of the location is outstanding and their ambient presence helps take any hassle out of time spent at the villas. They know their local food and wine, so all thats left is to learn to relax. We had just a wonderful time, Fiona will certainly visit again. Nick and Fiona, Winchester, England

Abruzzo is a road less travelled, at least for non-Italians, and as a consequence self catering accommodation for two is very difficult to find – hence Villas for 2. The website accurately describes the accommodation but doesn’t really convey how nicely furnished they are (and how they are immaculately maintained) nor the helpfulness and friendliness of the hosts. As a bonus there is a lovely pool and views from each of the terraces. Got to agree with all the other reviewers). On Abruzzo, it’s a mix of stunning mountain scenery, historic towns and castles (over a 1000) and with the coast close by. It is less geared up to tourism than its neighbouring provinces but none the worse for that. Casoli is an ideal base to reach the Abruzzo highlights (with scenic drives in every direction). To make the most of your stay, we recommend buying the book “The History and Art Guide to Abruzzo” edited by Latini (it was available on Amazon August 2013) – it knocks spots off the other guides to the regions and will inspire you with its list of over 1000 castles and numerous historic places. The apartments provide an opportunity to experience more normal Italian life, certainly more than you are likely to get in Tuscany. Your host kindly does a quick tour round the area on arrival – this was fantastic given you are in such a rural area. He guides you to the local facilities (which otherwise would be impossible to find) including a dairy/cheese farm (amazing freshly made butter, watched the ricotta being made and brought it home warm), a local shop to get fresh bread, local wine shop (though your hosts have an excellent selec tion of local wines for sale) and an eclectic but great small local supermarket. What a delight to cook in true Italian style with local produce (and wine) and eat sitting on the terrace, as the sun fades over the valley, watching and listening to the sounds and sights of rural Italy, followed by a stroll down the lane from the house admiring the views across the valley (and watching the fireflies), trying in broken Italian to chat with the locals - perfect. Mind you if you don’t want to self-cater in there were several good restaurants (at various prices) within a 10 minute drive, and one great restaurant - Villa Maielle. This is an unprepossessing building which we would have driven past had our hosts not recommended it. Anyway, out the back is a terrace with lovely views where they serve Michelin-starred standard food at very reasonable prices in a nice relaxed and casual atmosphere. Not to be missed. The place, the locality and Abruzzo - all comes highly recommended. Liz, Bath, England

Neither photos nor description do this place justice. This is a truly beautiful location with accommodation that is first class. David and Pauline are the perfect hosts, who are discretely not there but yet are always available for advice on where to go how to get to the many wonderful sites to see in Abruzzo. Their advice truly made our holiday fantastic and for that we cannot thank them enough. We have been to Italy a number of times and loved every region weve been in. Abruzzo is the most southerly weve been and we were wary what it would be like. The region is just stunning, from 8000ft mountain top ski resorts to beautiful beaches and hill top towns it has everything. We do hope to return to Abruzzo and Villa Pesco Falcone will be top of the list to go back to. Peter and Rose. Belfast

Had a lovely week here Sep 2013, very comfortable and stylish accommodation in a lovely setting with beautiful views over Italian countryside. Locally made metalwork bannister and stair to upper mezzanine level bedroom is spectacular. June, Scotland

Villa Pesco Falcone, with your wonderful hosts, Pauline and David in the idealic surrounds of Casoli is a perfect location to unwind, relax and soak up the views. With your hosts local knowledge from their many experiences you will find yourself discovering many varieties of the local and traditional Abruzzo cultures and cuisines. From the mountains to the sea being a relatively easy short drive. We would recommend this location for anyone seeking to discover the best value of traditional Italian living. Michael and Fiona. Brisbane, Australia.
