Location
Villa Apollo is situated in the area of Agrillia. It is close to the town of Laganas which is a lively resort with something for everyone ranging from bars, clubs to a variety of restaurants including obviously those offering Greek cuisine. If you prefer a quieter resort then Kalamaki is also near to the villa and although possible to reach by foot, for some they may find it a little far so it is better to go by car or taxi. The beach at Lagana is within walking distance and for those who enjoy walking it is possible to walk along the beach to the resort of Kalamaki. This beach is one of the many famous nesting places for the turtles and depending on which month it is during the summer season, they can usually be seen just by hiring a pedalo.
For those wishing to explore the entire island it is possible to hire a car, motor bike or quad bike to get around the beautiful island. There are many things to see the most famous being the shipwreck and the blue caves.

Lovely villa. Highly recommended. Great villa in a great location. It has everything you need. I would perhaps suggest hiring a car for sightseeing & with Kalamaki just up the road you are only a couple of minutes from great restaurants and beaches as well as in Lagana which is closer. My family and I loved our holiday and loved the villa.
Best Holiday in a long time ! We hired Villa Apollo last August the location is in a quiet area quite out of the way from Lagana so there is no noise whatsoever . The nearest town is Kalamaki which is quite a walk I must say along the dusty road track and the very busy main road, although there is a pavement which you can walk along it would take a somewhat 45 mins to get to .We are a family of five with three children so on a night out we would start out at 6 to get into Kalamaki for say 7pm . We could get a table in most of the restaurants without having to book ,only when it was a Greek night as it gets quite busy when there is entertainment on . We hired a car for 12 days which I would definitely recommend as you need to get your food shopping and go and explore the island and get to all the beaches . If you don’t like walking or like being away from it all then you will be too far out here but that’s what we loved . We were surrounded by mountains although the airport is at the back of the villa which is about 10 minutes away the airplanes do not fly over they fly across . The view from the kitchen window looks out at the runway so you can watch the planes take off and land which is fab ! Also when your cleaning your teeth in the bathroom you can see the planes landing and taking off through the bathroom mirror you won’t get a better view than from here if you love planes ! The villa is well equipped with a washing machine ,a downstairs bathroom although there is a shower downstairs we couldn’t use it as the washing machine is in there . There is a double bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs . The balcony upstairs is lovely to sit on on an evening and watch the sunsets which are incrediable although the balcony furniture could have done with replacing i believe it will have been when we return . We were told that there are going to be some updates and changes to the villa when we go again although we thought they were only little things while we were there . We needed more salad bowls and serving spoons and when we returned back one day they had been out and bought some for us which was lovely . The pool is super so we were in it most nights up until 11.00 . Costas the pool guy is wonderful for the two weeks we’re there he told us a lot about the island and places to go on the map . We loved it that much we’ve booked again and if you asked me if I can recommend Villa Apollo I would say yes without a doubt but you will need a car as the bus service from here only runs to Lagana which with a family I wouldn’t recommend as its full of nightclubs and drinking teenagers . Where as Kalamaki is more for family’s you can get a taxi from the villa or back which works out to £10.00 each way . Mary who I booked with is wonderful and emailed me back every time I asked any questions . If the villa came up for sale we would want to buy it and keep it for ourselves ! We look forward to our return The Beresford family X
Lovely villa!! The pool is a really good size and there were plenty of amenities. It is a little walk from the strip and beach but with quad bikes was a 5 minute drive, and nice to be a little bit out of the way, it’s nice and quiet here :) thank you for a lovely stay!
Lovely villa with an ideal location Throughout my stay and in all of my contact with the team, I can confidently say that the experience was First Class. From the first enquiry to the last, Mary Kenny was both helpful and prompt in her responses. Mary and her team achieved a level of personal service which hotels can’t seem to come close to. The Villa itself is absolutely wonderful and has a location which we found perfect. In the southern flats of the island it has incredibly easy access to the main road arteries which can take you anywhere on the island within an hour’s drive (depending on the drive that is! Greek roads are ‘exciting’ to say the least). The villa is conveniently close to the airport, which you barely hear or notice at all, despite the proximity – the airport also shuts down at night thankfully. Also nearby are the main town of Zakynthos with all of its sights and facilities and also the party town of Laganas (perhaps a 30 minute walk, very enjoyable in the evenings). The island has lots to tempt you out of the Vila, but arguably some of our most enjoyable days were spent by the pool and making the most of the villa. Peace and quiet is easy to find, despite the proximity to the airport and one of the Mediterranean’s bigger party towns. The facilities are excellent, clearly well maintained and compliment the villa well. You certainly get your money’s worth with Villa Apollo, from the personal level of care when organising to the wonderful villa itself and its splendid location. We would love to come back and cannot recommend it enough for your stay on Zakynthos.
