Aisling Villa
Beach bungalow with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and private pool in Rethymnon region, Crete
From €665 per week
2 bedroom villa with private pool
Overview
Aisling villa is located in a small modern complex in the sleepy hamlet of Hamalevri, surrounded by lemon, orange and olive groves. It sits in its own private mature garden of mature lemon and olive trees with Oleander on the boundary to provide privacy. To add to the authenticity we have a grape vine growing on the front fence and if you are fortunate enough to be there at the right time, it abounds with beautiful red grapes.
We are surrounded by astounding scenery and nature is always close at hand from the migratory birds of early spring to the hypnotic sound of cicado in high summer. The beautiful Arseni monastery perches on the opposite slope of our valley, just below the village of Paglahori and the occasion peel of the monastery bells calling people to worship makes you feel that you are in another much simpler world. We are fortunate, as well, to have a kafeneon in our village, serving wonderful food(not necessarily Greek) and also a greek Taverna (Polio's House) some 5 minutes walking distance in the village of Asteri.
Our villa has its own private swimming pool which is 4 mtrs x 9 mtrs. with a large area of terracing where you can lounge around on sunbeds soaking up the sun or if you prefer to just sit and read there are shady areas where you can bask in the peace and tranquillity of your exquisite surroundings. We also have a Cretan barbecue and pergola beside the pool area, so that visitors can further enhance their outdoor experience.
Aisling Villa boasts an open plan living area opening onto the front terrace through the arched doorway. The kitchen is fully fitted and even has a dishwasher. There are two bedrooms, one of which is ensuite. There is private parking for 2 cars.

Hi there, John and I (a couple in our 70's) have owned this property since it was built in 2002. We fell in love with Crete in 1990 when we visited the island for the first time and 10 years later decided we'd like to buy a property. We loved the village when we were first shown the plot for a new build, so it wasn't difficult to make the decision to buy there. We love the setting of the house and the views around it, and we love its cool interior, and the high ceiling. We love that guests love it too!
