Diafani is an incredible, coastal settlement in Karpathos, situated in the northeast side of the island. Diafani has a rich history dating back to ancient times, with influences from various civilizations. In the past, it provided refuge from pirate raids. Today, it’s a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches and outdoor activities. It’s also a starting point for trips to the nearby island of Saria, a nature reserve with ancient ruins. It has a picturesque natural scenery, where visitors can find many pretty colorful houses in a unique design. Just a short distance from Diafani, Vananda Beach is a beautiful secluded beach with crystal-clear waters and a serene atmosphere. Located on the eastern coast of Karpathos, Vroukounda Beach is a peaceful and unspoiled beach with picturesque surroundings. Diafani is located about 50 km from Pigadia, which is Karpathos city center, make sure to spend some time wandering the streets and eat amazing traditonal Greek food. A great location – within a 15 minute drive - to visit is Olympos village, a traditional Greek settlement. Karpathos has over 300 churches, you should visit at least some of them especially the church of Dormition of Theotokos at village Menetes.
