This gorgeous oceanfront home can sleep up to 10 guests and is just 20 minutes from the airport and Corfu Town. It also impresses with its 45 sq m private pool and garden patio.

The house is located in a charming and tranquil neighbourhood, with gardens of citrus and olive trees providing some incredibly pleasant spaces, including a dining area and barbeque. There are sun loungers lining a sizable pool terrace, as well as tables and hammocks outside. The pool is only a few steps away from a covered dining area, and the expansive upper terrace above has another appealing spot with a lovely view of the Ionian Sea.

You can move in and out as you choose because the interior rooms all have direct access to the patios. You get a living area with a fireplace and a TV, a fully functional kitchen, and a bathroom on the ground level. The master bedroom, which has a king-size bed and an en suite bathroom, and a twin room are two of the bedrooms that are located below.

The main indoor dining area, which has seating for up to 10, is located upstairs and has access to the upper terrace. On this floor, there is a cosy seating area, a bathroom, and two additional bedrooms, a king and a twin room, all with stunning views of the ocean. Luxurious Coco-Mat beds can be found in each of the bedrooms, while the living room sofa beds can fit an additional two guests.

The villa is completely air-conditioned, furnished with satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a coffee maker, and much more. It is also tastefully designed. Onsite parking, frequent cleaning, and garden and pool upkeep are additional benefits.

Benitses, a former fishing community, is only a short drive away and offers a wide selection of eateries, bars, and authentic Greek tavernas, including the well regarded Klimataria. It won't take long to go to Corfu Town's antique homes and fortresses, the magnificent Royal residence and grounds, or the nearby landmark Achilleion. Within a 30-minute drive of Benitses, further scenic attractions including Halikounos Beach and Lake Korission are also available.

Situated on Corfu’s east coast, conveniently close to the main town, the village of Benitses, sometimes known as Mpenitses, is an attractive former fishing village. These days, it’s tourism which is the backbone of the local economy, and Benitses provides all a visitor could want or need. You will find plenty of bars and restaurants, with the area around the boat-filled marina, acting as a focal point.

It’s just as easy to reach Benitses from the airport, which is itself just south of Corfu town – the journey should only take about 20 minutes. Closer still is a local landmark, the grand Achilleion house. This impressive property was originally built as a summer palace for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, and while her story is a tragic one, it is certainly an enjoyable place to visit, with wonderful views from the beautifully kept gardens.

To the north, Corfu town is well worth visiting, and features many architecturally impressive sights. The Royal Palace, which now houses a Museum of Asian Art, is a Neoclassical mansion with a fascinating collection of Indian, Japanese and Chinese works within. A pretty courtyard café enjoys views across the water towards the southern fringes of Albania.

Also noteworthy are the Old Fortress and the New Fortress, both built by the Venetians in the 16th century. Walk up the highest points of either and you can marvel at the views, although the buildings themselves are interesting to walk around. Set in a park in the Kanóni part of town, you can also see the birthplace of the Duke of Edinburgh, the palace of Mon Repos.

A possible excursion, while you are in Kanóni, is a boat trip to the peaceful islet of Pontikonísi, or Mouse Island – but only if you happen to be around on the one day of the year visitors are permitted (6th August). Perhaps the most photographed spot in the area, it is said to resemble a mouse when viewed from above. You can best capture it from outside the Panagia Vlacherna monastery, itself at the end of a walkway which extends into the sea.
