The villa sleeps up to 8 persons in 4 double/twin bedrooms and has a private swimming pool. An extra child (9th person) can be accommodated on a camp bed if required. For people in wheelchairs or with limited mobility, the downstairs double bedroom is ideal, being next to the downstairs shower room and W/C with commode available. British plumbing and WC - no small pipes!

Villa Angelos is of the same design and layout as our other two villas nearby (Asteria and Helios) in the same private olive grove so if you wish you could hire several villas together.

A note on prices. The house is very flexible. Although it has 4 bedrooms it is very competitvely priced in April, May, September and October so good value for money for 2-4 people at this time of year. In the high season (summer months of July and August) the house is more attractive for larger family groups due to our 'per person' charge.

Our guests often comment that these villas are in the perfect location. They are within walking distance from two villages, close enough to enjoy their facilities but not too close to be disturbed by barking dogs, crowing cockerels and noisy human nightlife that happens in any and every Cretan village or town.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS WITH SMALL CHILDREN! This villa has a downstairs kitchen which looks out directly onto the gated pool. This means you can see your children in the pool while you are preparing lunch! Many other villas in the area have not been designed with holidaymakers like you in mind as they have an upstairs kitchen which means you may have to balance a meal and a drink on a tray while walking down a flight of stairs with a toddler following behind you or under your feet! We designed this feature BEFORE the houses were built - you are not an afterthought!

The villa is located in a peaceful private olive grove of 4.5 acres (17,000 square metres). It is one of only 5 villas in the olive grove, all of which are owned by us. The olive grove is secure, being fenced and hedged by colourful oleander, and surrounded by olive trees. It is the perfect base to explore the picturesque Apokoronas area on foot or by car, with its tiny white hamlets nestled on green mountainsides. Apokoronas is a designated area of natural beauty, protected in a similar way to a UK National Park. At all times there are breath-taking views of the White Mountains which are snowcapped until late May. Literally on your doorstep there are numerous foot-trails through this most spectacular area of Crete, a genuine walker’s paradise.

Close to the villa are two villages. Almyrida, by the beach, is only a 3 minute drive away or you can walk it in half an hour. Gavalochori, further inland, is only a 1 minute drive away and you can walk there in less than 15 minutes.

We had lovely holidays at Villa Angelos. It is in a ery good situation to visit the north west coast, but also for the south of the island because it is not very far (1 hour drive through the mountains to Sfakia on the south coast). The villa has a very nice terrace to have a drink or to have dinner. Good protection around the swimming pool. Everything was good with the help of John. Many thanks for these nice holidays.

It was a great week in this villa, the pool is a dream, and the location is great (with a car). The air conditioning did break down during out stay but it was quickly repaired on the same day. We can definitely recommend this house 8/14/2021 at 1:30 PM

Beautiful villa with spacious terrace and pool area. Very clean and well maintained by friendly staff. Perfect location away from the hustle and bustle of Almyrida, but close enough for shopping, tavernas and bars. The nearby village of Gavalochori has a fantastic taverna - Arismari - with home cooked food and friendly people in a beautiful setting. We avoided the busy Samaria Gorge and opted, on advice, for nearby Imbros Gorge instead. This trip into the White Mountains was the highlight of our holiday. Rethymno is a lovely town and Limonokipos Taverna (The Lemon Garden) is a cool haven for a delicious lunch. We would definitely recommend this villa and hope to return one day, Our response: A very good call regarding Imbros Gorge. It is a fantastic walk and much quieter than Samaria. I would recommend walking up and having a well earned Skafian Pie (pancake, honey and soft cheese) at the cafe terrace with glorious views at the top.

My wife, myself ,son and daughter in law stayed in Angelos villa for 2 weeks in June 2015 and I must say we have not enjoyed a holiday more, from arriving to leaving it was a fantastic experience .The villa itself was a joy to be in, clean, spacious bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower / utility room, the bedding and towels are excellent quality and changed twice weekly, the kitchen is very well equipped, with plenty of utensils etc... every thing you could possibly need or think of...... .The lounge area is spacious and beautifully furnished. there's a dining area ,the table will seat 8 comfortably. The rooms were cleaned twice a week as was the swimming pool.... there's a shaded patio with a table and chairs, will also seat 8 !! plus an outdoor sofa and chairs... the swimming pool is a good size and an absolute treat !!! it has the sun from dawn to dusk.... the area around the pool is gated, great if you have small children , there is ample room for the sun beds and umbrellas. the surrounding garden and olive groves give good privacy, although this villa isn't overlooked... the views are spectacular too. The walk to the village of Gavalachori is a definite must ...the Taverna's are a treat to eat in.... good tasty local dishes, lots to choose from... the locals are very friendly too..... the walk down is ok (didn't bother my family) if you take it easy... I am 68 and I managed it a few times ...it takes about 20mins , there's a good taxi service if you don't fancy the walk back!!! The walk to Almyrida is a bit more strenuous ,to much for me, my son and his partner walked it, and said it wasn't too bad at all. We used the car :-) plenty of parking!!.. Almyrida is a very pretty place with three beaches... plenty of taverna's ,supermarkets etc. The owner is a pleasure to deal with, Mark his manager is happy to answer any queries or questions you may have.... the whole experience for us was brilliant .. so much so, we are returning in September .. will certainly be recommending these Villas to our family and friends ... best regards to the crew ... We had a brilliant time thank you. No problems and no adverse comments. Clare, who likes to be picky, said her only complaint was that there was no oven glove! Management was very attentive and helpful as always, and the new outdoor furniture was very comfortable and a big improvement, particularly as that was where we spent most of our time. We've decided that 3 weeks is the right sort of time for our May holiday and are already looking at Crete again for next year.
