This 15th Century Guest house at Manoir des Rosiers, la maison du manoir, has been entirely renovated, with traditional French furniture. Features a downstairs shower, and ensuite WC.

Overview

In the grounds of a manor-house surrounded by lavanders and roses, la Maison is a solid stone-house, possibly the original stable, entirely renovated, furnished with antique French furniture. The gite has one double bedroom with antique four poster bed and one twin bedroom both with a bath in the room and ensuite WC. There is also a downstairs shower room. A fitted kitchen with dining area. A large living room with a huge stone fire place (logs supplied).Guest have shared use to the heated pool (May /September) and the hot-tub (same dates) in the large garden. Shared access to home cinema in a separate building.

A short drive from the river Loire the Manoir des rosiers is set on the edge of a small village in tranquil countryside. There are many historic sights locally such as troglodyte caves, chateaux and vin yards. Good restaurants can be found within a 15 minute drive. The legendary Loire, listed as World Heritage by Unesco is the europe's last untamed river. Tuffeau stones and slate have lent their nuances to the sumptuous buildings that stand on its banks. Discover the chateaux, Renaissance homes, medieval fortresses: kings, artists and authors all had the right idea. Saumur, Angers, Brissac, Chenonceaux, Amboise, Chinon, Tours...all of these references to the past make the Loire an out-of-ordinary river.
The very highly regarded vineyards of Coteaux-du-Layon, Anjou-Brissac, Saumur-Champigny, Chinon, Vouvray, are within easy access and local growers are always very pleased to welcome visitors for a tasting.

La Maison (property 26818) and the annex le Petit Pavillon (property 80333) can be rented together or individually depending on party size.

Beautiful setting and space for a family of 4 with 2 young children. Pool area was amazing. Local area is great with many chateau, caves and the zoo. Maïa was a great host and provided recommendations for activities. We came during a bit of a heatwave and the lack of ac was the only thing we struggled with. Would definitely recommend

We had a wonderful stay for four days in early April at "Le Manoir des Rosiers". It is definitely a great place with delightful facilities. We enjoyed our four nights at "La Maison ", a large and very pleasant gîte with nice antique pieces of furniture. Maia and Frederic have been always on hand and very pleased to advise us about the wonderful surroundings in the Loire valley, many historical places to visit in the area, cultural events and, of course, local wine and typical food (Don't miss "fouées" and "rillauds"). On top of that, we had four sunny days. We only regret we did not stay longer. The place is worth at least a full week and we shall come again !

We rarely return to the same place twice but we loved La Maison the first time we stayed and still had things we wanted to do in the area so decided to return. Maia and Frederic were very welcoming and helpful when we need information or suggestions on places to eat. The house is comfortable and well equipped and the cinema room a bonus. The pool area was a great place to relax or take a dip to cool off particularly as the weather was hot. The beautiful setting and secluded grounds are ideal for getting away from it all but there are plenty of things to do nearby. We would not hesitate to recommend La Maision and are sure we will return again in the future.

We spent a wonderful week at this beautiful gite. Set in a peaceful village this is truly a retreat from the rest of the world - just close the gates and enjoy the superb pool, jacuzzi and cinema room. The house is rustic but comfortable and well equipped for a family of 4. The owners were very welcoming and happy to give advice if requested and spoke excellent English.

If you venture out there is plenty to do in the area with Saumur not far away and a whole range of activities and amazing chateaux, wine tasting, cycling and beautiful scenery to keep you amused for a week or two. There are a couple of supermarkets near by and a boulangerie in the next village. We would certainly return to this area and this gite as it was a real hit with us all.

We returned to this gite as our stay the previous year was so fabulous. It did not disappoint this year; we has an equally wonderful week in a fabulous part of the country.
Our hosts were delightful and could not do enough to enhance our stay. The accommodation was perfect.
We will certainly return!

Maïa and Frédéric were the loveliest of hosts who went out of their way to help with wifi, restaurant booking etc. They made us extremely welcome so we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The property and grounds are exceptional with beautiful gardens and a fantastic pool. The pool and the lovely outside area for eating made us reluctant to drag ourselves away to the many chateaux near by!
