Perfect for families, groups or a romantic escape, Le Belvedere is a beautiful private home and one you can make yours for the duration of your stay. Le Belvedere has an ambiance to match the location with a sense of style, comfort and understated luxury that is both inviting and intimate. Spectacular scenery of the Haute Pyrenees, a unique region rich in heritage and authenticity which is conveyed and treasured by its inhabitants. Delicious meals from elegant candlelit dinners to casual barbeques on the front terrace. Savour our local cuisine, a mountain on a plate with produce from the seasons.Awesome mountain experiences from picnics in the exquisite Pyrenean countryside to the diversity of adventure activities from hiking, ski-ing, cycling, canyoning and rafting. Our favourite thing about our house and land is that the village of Salles has a particularly rich natural heritage, thanks to an environment that has remained very well preserved ... a small "sanctuary", a precious place which has preserved its authentic pastoral character, offering to the true lovers of nature all the pleasures offered by a space still wild.
In 2007 with a passion for travel and adventure I arrived from Australia and purchased ‘Le Belvedere’ offering authentic French boutique accommodation to friends, family and guests from all around the world. I came to France looking for a place we could enjoy in both the summer and the winter. I fell in love with ‘Le Belvedere.’ The previous owners introduced me to an architect couple specialising in Chateau renovation in Bourdeaux. Their advice which has stayed with me, was to approach ‘Le Belvedere’ carefully to maintain its distinctive heritage and authenticity. There is something magical about this place, it seems to have the ability to capture everyone’s hearts, people simply love coming here. ‘Le Belvedere’ is very comfortable and a place you can stop and breathe and relax and absorb what this special region has to offer. The village is tranquil, and the people are very welcoming. It’s a pleasure to be a caretaker of such a beautiful house in a beautiful area."
The property is located close to five ski stations including La Mongie and Super Bareges. It is perfectly located to explore Gavarnie, Cauterets and Lourdes either in the stunning summer or beautiful picturesque winters. The Pyrenees are an unspoilt wilderness area of France and Spain where you can go rafting, canyoning, walking, trekking, riding and much more. Our favourite thing about our house and land is that the village of Salles has a particularly rich natural heritage, thanks to an environment that has remained very well preserved ... a small "sanctuary", a precious place which has preserved its authentic pastoral character, offering to the true lovers of nature all the pleasures offered by a space still wild, where the man has found his place in harmony with the landscape: random paths through which to discover the many barns that adorn this landscape and further accent the charm of the place and we will take in the scenery, smells and warmth of this beautiful space. One of the first things that you will notice when you arrive in the Gaves Valley is the four grand sites which are known worldwide: Lourdes, Gavarnie, Le Pont d’Espagne - Cauterets and the Pic du Midi.
