Overview
Located in a small hamlet on the borders of the Departments of Ille-et-Vilaine (Brittany) and Manche (Normandy) these two traditional Breton cottages are set in peaceful rural surroundings with open undulating countryside yet are close to all amenities. South facing, they enjoy delightful views across meadowland and nestle alongside a beautiful copse. To the front of the properties is an enclosed courtyard and landscaped grounds with barbecues, dining areas and a solar heated swimming pool - to the rear our own field. Within easy reach is the Normandy town of St James (approximately 4 kms) which is famous for "Tricot St James", a celebrated manufacturer of high quality leisurewear. St James will accommodate your everyday needs with its well-stocked supermarket and out of town hypermarket with petrol station, street market (Mondays), post office, banks, bakers/patisseries, bistro, bars and good restaurants.
A little closer to the cottages is the village of St Georges de Reintembault in Brittany (approximately 2 kms) where you will find several bakers, bars, a post office, restaurant and a commercial centre with a small supermarket, petrol station, bank and pharmacy.
The cottages make an ideal holiday base for touring Brittany, Normandy and beyond and are convenient to the ports of Cherbourg, Caen or St Malo; a 1-2 hour drive.
Le Havre and Dieppe are also possible - about a 3 hour drive - Calais/Eurotunnel - a 4- 4.5 hour drive.
A fantastic for a relaxing large family group holiday or short break.
Beautiful Sandy Beaches - Try the long sandy beaches at Jullouville/Carolles just north of Avranches or the enchanting coastline and smaller coves of the Emerald Coast near Cancale, St Malo, Dinard and St Cast-le-Guildo.
Walking - both long distance and circular routes. Guided walks across the sands to Mont St Michel.
Extensive cycling along unhurried country roads or off-road.
Horseriding can be arranged locally.
Windsailing on the beaches of Mont St-Michel bay.
Sea/River cruises from St Malo, Granville and Dinan.
Two zoos/wildlife parks in the region also a state of the art aquarium at St Malo with a 360-degree view of marine life.

Museums, châteaux, abbeys and landscaped gardens to visit and explore.
Weekly markets selling local produce - and not forgetting the gourmet experiences that await at restaurants, hotels and local markets. Oysters and fresh fish at Cancale or join the Camembert trail in Normandy visiting cheese makers along a marked route. Try the local Calvados brandy and cider.

Total 6 bedrooms sleeping 14 - cottages are normally rented together to provide exclusivity over all facilities. Gites are available separately outside main holiday periods for weekly rentals or short breaks. Each cottage has a Living area, Kitchen with all appliances provided, Dining Table, Satellite TV, Video/DVD etc Outside there also many outdoor areas to eat Al Fresco with barbecues provided.
