“We had a lovely stay. It was very quiet and comfortable with everything we needed. Thanks for being such great hosts."
Beautiful place, had a wonderfully peaceful and thoroughly enjoyable time. Richard and Sandra are super hosts. Will visit again."
“Our stay has been so enjoyable - plenty of sunshine and peaceful countryside. We are rested and refreshed and you made us feel so welcome. We will have to comeback - there's plenty more to see! Thank you. ”
This is a beautiful place to stay (3rd visit). Set in the rural french countryside, it is idyllic and tranquil, the perfect place to unwind and relax. If you enjoy the outdoors then there are some lovely walks to do along with kayaking. Also ideal for visiting the various war memorials etc. The owners are a very lovely couple and make you feel welcome.
We returned to La Buissonniere for another visit and as usual we received a very warm welcome from Sandra and Richard. The gite is so well appointed, immaculately clean, comfortable and lovingly decorated that we couldn't help but return. The location is so peaceful and relaxing and yet only a short distance from many places of interest. We revisited some of our favourite places and explored new. Our holiday experience was excellent. We had the best sleep and returned home feeling very rested and wishing we could have stayed longer. The gite is so deserving of our 5* rating. Thank you Sandra and Richard, we look forward to visiting you again soon.
“Here we are again … fourth time! Feel very at home and welcome here, just what we needed. Thank you! See you next year.”
“We’ve found it very easy to live here while we’ve been house hunting. Sandra & Richard have been very accommodating. The peace and quiet is lovely and it’s easy to get about from here. Excellent shower, and TV & Wifi a plus”
“The more we come (our 4th visit), the more we feel at home and absorb the peace of the place and the beauty all around. Thank you as ever, we hope to return before long. “

We moved to La Buissonniere in 2014 after spending many happy family holidays in France over the years. LaBuiss gives us the opportunity to pursue our love of rural living, and after 30 years in farming and cheesemaking, we can now enjoy these on a much smaller scale to suit ourselves. We have developed a good relationship with our neighbouring farmer who now grazes a handful of his heifers in our fields from each April – October, and his herd of Normandie cows provide us with creamy milk to make cheese now and again. Our sheep and chickens keep us occasionally occupied and constantly amused, our vegetable ‘patch’ is an ongoing but unpredicatable labour of love, and wild and cultivated fruits from the garden contribute to many a seasonal jamming session. We try to integrate with the community when we can which helps us socially and linguistically. We love it here at La Buissonniere – we hope you will too
