Overview
Situated in a beautiful corner of the Vienne, Chateau Mareuil is a bijou ancient chateau which dates back to the 15th century.
We have created 2 charming guest suites and a pretty ground floor en-suite bedroom in the Château.
The Princess Suite sleeps up to 6 with a beautiful contemporary shower room of the highest standard.
The Prince Suite sleeps up to 3 and boasts a designer bathroom created by artisan craftsmen - this Suite is very suitable for honeymooners!
The Petite Princess is a pretty family room sleeping up to 4 on the ground floor level with 2 vintage French double beds and an en-suite shower room.
The castle itself is flanked by picturesque outbuildings, a grand Donjon and a pretty cottage. in addition, there are two recent barn renovations providing further accommodation - a studio apartment for 2 and a newly renovated 2 bedroom gite which sleeps up to 6.
Chateau Mareuil is set in luscious gardens with an abundance of fruit and flowers and has it's own private river frontage.
Relax in your beautiful suite, our elegant and comfortable salon, on the terrace, in the "sky" garden or take a stroll along our private river!
Our Swimming Pool is total luxury measuring an impressive 12m x 6m!
Our nearest town is Montmorillon, of medieval origins with an abundance of local charm and situated on the river Gartempe. It is famous for writing and literature, also Gastronomy - particularly macarons!

It was a fascinating experience, a very warm welcome from the hospitable hosts, immersion in the atmosphere of an ancient chateau, where history keeps its mysteries and stories in every stone. Thank you, it was a very pleasant stay.
What a wonderful experience staying at the Château Mareuil. It was a surprise birthday treat from my friend. We both share a big birthday this year. And what a treat from start to finish. A very warm welcome was had from Belinda and Lee. The Château is amazing. Like stepping back in time. The food was amazing. The history of the place, as told by Lee is so interesting. Highly recommended. With an outdoor swimming pool, wonderful views and peace and tranquility. Wonderful hosts xxx

Exceptional stay, the Mareuil castle is very beautiful with its park of great richness. Belinda and lee The owners are very kind. And caring throughout our stay. The little prince room was perfect. Irreproachable cleanliness. The bathroom is very nice and big. The evening meal was excellent and delicious with vegetables from the garden. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed at Chateau Mareuil because we are huge fans of the BBC show “Chateau DIY.” Belinda and Lee and their gem of a chateau are featured on the program. The hosts were warm, charming and happy to make us comfortable. The property was so much fun to stay at. The dinner was delicious and prepared with care to our dietary needs. We loved Belinda, Lee, the chateau and the cat, Megan!
The family room was very spacious. Also a very spacious shower. The beds are completely in style with the castle. How beautiful is that? Also a big feather for the host and hostess. Such friendly people!! Nothing was too much. The breakfast was super tasty and extensive. Dinner was rich and everything was home-cooked. We enjoyed your hospitality! Thx!!
Visiting and staying in the chateau is an experience in itself. That's very positive. Furthermore we had enjoyed very nice and cozy breakfast table and we stayed for dinner because of not many alternatives in the area. Breakfast and dinner are excellent. Our bathroom was very good, but it varies from room to room. And the pool is fantastic. Above all, it is very nice to be guests of Belinda and Lee, the owners of the hotel. Also very dog-friendly, I think our dog had also written an equally long positive review.
We had a lovely stay, on every aspect, at Chateau Mareuil. Belinda and Lee were great hosts and made us so welcome ! Stayed at the little Studio, where everything was available. Large swimming pool was a treat in this heatwave. Belinda and Lee's breakfasts and dinners were delicious with fresh local products. We thank Lee for his storytelling which was interesting and full of original humour, also appreciated the story about the castle and the information about the area. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable and looking forward to a future stay !
