Peyia

Winding up through the banana plantations after a short drive along the coast road from Paphos brings you to Peyia where the Villa Stella is located on the hillside overlooking Coral Bay. Peyia is a very typical Cypriot village. A beautiful ancient church forms the heart of the village
while the narrow streets and alleyways are full of old and interesting houses adorned with colourful flowers and citrus trees. The village is still largely unspoilt with lively tavernas and friendly locals. You can also buy all your provisions including fresh meat and bread in the village stores the early morning aroma of freshly baked bread, sweet and savoury local pastries and cakes coming from the Peyia bakery is almost too much to resist!

Things to do in the area include Paphos Bird Park, reptile park, horse riding, Akamas Peninsular & Lara Beach Nature Reserve (famous for turtles), hiking/walking, buggy safaris, 4 x 4 safaris, sea caves area, sailing and many more. Amusement and water parks in Paphos are also easily accessible from Peyia, as are numerous archaeological ruins such as the Tombs of the Kings.

If you want to get out and explore some fantastic scenery, take a trip to the Akamas Peninsula, Polis, Latchi or even Troodos mountains. The Akamas is an untouched part of Cyprus with unspoilt coastline and traditional fish taverns in stunning seaside locations. Troodos is of course the main mountain range in Cyprus, not many people know that in the winter....you can ski!

Paphos combines ancient history with a cosmopolitan, modern tourist resort. The area by the coast is known as Kato Paphos and boasts a pretty little harbour and plenty of open air cafes and bars. Further inland is the old town of Paphos, known by the locals as Ktima. With its narrow streets, hustle and bustle, covered market and typically Cypriot atmosphere, it is well worth a visit. As a consequence, Paphos is on UNESCOs World Cultural Heritage list.

Cyprus is famous as the birth place of the goddess Aphrodite, Venus in Roman mythology. She is known as the Ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty. Legend says that she emerged from the sea at Aphrodite’s Rock in a surge of sea foam.

A lovely property, well situated for Peyia and Coral Bay, very clean and well maintained, lovely pool benefiting from the sun all day long ! not directly overlooked, Close to good supermarkets, would recommend to friends. As with most villas in the area a car is essential, look forward to hopefully going back for another stay !

Nice Villa with a homely atmosphere. Car is a must though. Stayed here in November - Weather was fabulous. Area was quiet as holiday season was drawing to a close.
Enjoyed a relaxing time here.
Many thanks to Gary and Steven for their help during our stay.

Lovely Villa , roomy and all internal fitting are top qulaity. Very handy to have wi-fi and UK TV channels too.
Very private and sun in pool area all dat due to its location with no other properties either side or in front.
Property manager , Louise , was very helpful.
Only downside is that you have to drive / taxi everywhere as all the local amenities are 30 mins + walk away and is very hilly.
Overall an excellant villa.

Aug 09, found villa to be comfortable, clean & well equiped. The pool was lovely & well maintained by Gary. The pool side area was completly private & the views down to the sea were stunning. We hired a car & found that most places were easy to get to with a well stocked supermarket only 5 mins away. Plenty of resturants to cater for all tastes in Pathos or Coral bay. The beach at Coral bay was clean & sandy with plenty of water sports. Over all we had a lovely 2 weeks & would recommend villa stella with its great location & comfort for anyone seeking a relaxing holiday.

We stayed at Villa Stella in June and were extremely happy with the standard. We returned in September and whilst Gary &amp Louise continue to be extremely helpful and came very speedily to replace light bulbs and gas bottle for bbq, we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the property this time.&nbsp We did pass on this feedback to Gary when he visited. It is such a shame as the property is furnished to a high standard and the cleanliness has let it down Im afraid.

Reply from Letsrentonline.com

Hi Karen,Many thanks for your review. I have spoken to Gary and Louise about some of these issues and would respond as follows:All the laundry goes to a professional launderette where they use a particular product to remove stains however certain skin/sun products do stain the linen. We can assure you that the linen for this booking came straight from the launderette and was put on the beds, (including the mattress cover). Many apologies. The cleaners hoovered and mopped the floors as usual and we checked the entire villa before your arrival. We do not accept that the floors were dirty. You reported that the A/C not cooling. It was checked and was working perfectly. You insisted on a new gas bottle which Gary swapped, the one in place was only weeks old and is still in use elsewhere now. When Gary came to see you off, he asked for feedback there and then and these issues were raised. Your exact words were I know I am an extremely fussy person but I dont feel it was quite as clean as the last time we stayed. We have had no other complaints regarding cleanliness at any of our villas this year however we must accept any criticism and do our utmost to keep our standards high. Its very disappointing when we get poor feedback from guests as we try very hard to make sure everything is done correctly and we have had no other complaints from guests at this villa. I hope that as you say things will be more to your satisfaction should you return again next year as also discussed on departure. Thanks very much again.

Great villa, fantastic views, quiet location. There are no facilities within easy walking distance (restaurants, supermarkets or bars) but there are many within a short drive.

The locality of the property was purposely picked - based on many holidays to this area over the years and we were really pleased with it. No recommendations - other than to say we were really pleased with all restaurants, bars beaches and the choice within Peyia village, Coral Bay and Paphos. Met the local managers when attending to our pool cleaning. V helpful, friendly and approved our late check out time - hassle free. Accomodation was really well equipped and welcome pack hugely appreciated ''

Review submitted by Jason from North Wales (Submitted: 28/07/2021) ''we are back home in (very cool) UK. Villa was excellent, clean, tidy and with all the facilities and equipment you need for a fabulous holiday, with the fantastic pool an absolute joy in the Cypriot summer! Location was perfect, in a quiet residential area with hardly anyone overlooking the pool area, 2 minute drive to the bars and restaurants of peyia, a car is advisable! Great beach at Coral Bay (busy in high season but safe for swimming/watersports). Can recommend La Vigna Trattoria Italian restaurant in Coral Bay, Poppadoms Indian restaurant on Tomb of the Kings road to Paphos, Kings Ave Mall great for shopping, plenty of cultural sights depending on individual taste, get your guide book out for details! LetsRentOnline have been 1st class throughout the booking process during a very unpredictable, pandemic affected period of time, Steven in particular has been very helpful and responds to emails and any queries very promptly. Had to change the booking times and durations several times and nothing was too much trouble, definitely the best booking agents I have dealt with in nearly 20 years of booking Apts/Villas in Cyprus. The local villa managers were very good, the pool was maintained regularly and an excellent mid term clean and linen change was very much appreciated. Will be back to Cyprus again, guaranteed. Thanks again for all your help, your service was excellent. Definitely interested in booking again for 2022. Warmest regards, Jason Thompson. North Wales, UK''

Sue and Jason Jul 2018

Review submitted by Sue and Jason from Aberdeen (Submitted: 12/07/2018) ''We had a lovely holiday at Villa Stella and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. We have stayed in a few villas in different countries and this one was the best equipped, most clean and had the best welcome pack on our arrival! We thought the location was ideal as long as you had a car to get about and explore a bit. There was definitely plenty to do in nearby Coral Bay particularly the hire of buggies which my husband and son loved. Slightly further out in Latchi, we very much enjoyed an organised boat trip to the Blue Lagoon which included an onboard barbecue and snorkelling. With the discount provided by Lets Rent Online, it was an absolute bargain at 80€ for four of us. My daughter and I also parasailed which was amazing for me...not so much for her!! As for restaurants, there was a great choice in Pegeia itself. Our favourites were the Green Hill Cafe right at the top of Pegeia and Oniro just outside of Coral Bay. We were very satisfied with the communication from yourself and also from Louise and Gary. They were particularly helpful when we had to phone them on the day we arrived as we couldn’t find the villa. Louise talked us through it and followed it up with us when she came to change our linen. I’ve just asked my husband whether he had any comments on the property itself and the only thing he suggested was some kind of netting along the wooden fence to stop us losing balls that we were playing with in the pool!😂 As for whether we’d visit Cyprus again, yes, I think we would but we might go a bit later in the year - maybe October - when it might be a little cooler. We would definitely be looking to book with Lets Rent Online again as it was all very straightforward and the villa was such a good standard. Thanks again. Sue & Jason ''

Thank You yes we had a wonderful holiday again, and would like to mention the fantastic job that Louise and Gary do in taking care of the property also the fact that they are a more than willing to help in anyway they can and are so friendly. The property has to be one of the best we have stayed in, it is almost home from home with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and having the IPTV is such an added bonus After our last stay we decided we enjoyed everything about the villa, the area, and the restaurants so much that we came back for 4 weeks this time and are again returning with family later this year in October. The whole service provided from the start of booking our holiday with Steven the Letting Manager, to Gary and Louise who take care of the property was absolutely first class and that was also one of the reasons we decided to return to Cyprus with this company. Many Thanks to everyone who made it such a wonderful holiday and we shall see you again soon''

Lynsey S Aug 2016

Review submitted by Lynsey from Kent (Submitted: 07/09/2016) ''The villa was lovely. Very clean, everything worked and it was exactly as the photos showed. Location was fine for us. We hired a car so only a few minutes drive to the local supermarket and restaurants in Coral Bay. As this was our 7th visit to Peyia/Coral Bay we have got to know the area quite well and also the people who work in the restaurants! The kids always want to go to Aphrodite water park in Paphos and also have done Parasailing at Corallia Beach. We love La Vigna Trarroria in Coral Bay, a lovely Italian restaurant, slightly more expensive than other restaurants in the area but worth it. Also Andria restaurant and Samisen Japanese is an entertaining evening. The service/information provided/response to questions is always excellent. We did not need to contact the local manager at all as everything was OK. Louise did come and do a very thorough mid stay clean. We didn't see Gary clean the pool, but we knew he had been! The 3 villas we have stayed at (Foster, Stella and Zivania) have all been fantastic. Service and correspondence is always excellent. We will probably be going again next summer. Thank you again for another great villa and a lovely holiday''

Stephen M Jun 2016

Review submitted by Stephen from Glasgow (Submitted: 07/07/2016) ''First of all I would like to thank everyone involved for a most wonderful family holiday at Villa Stella! We all enjoyed our holiday immensely and were very impressed with both the accommodation in particular and the local area in general. We mainly enjoyed lazy days by the pool, but also managed to see a little of the surrounding area in our short stay on the island. I have detailed some of the highlights below, should it be any use for potential guests booking with you in the future: - Villa Stella was spotlessly clean with lovely views looking out to the sea. I certainly enjoyed a peaceful morning coffee on the balcony whilst the rest of the family were fast asleep! Although I must admit the views were a bit of a distraction to my early game of scrabble! The villa was well equipped with just about everything you would expect to help make it a real home from home during our stay. There was a wide selection of channels to choose from on the TV, and the beds were very comfy. The real star of the villa, however, is the fantastic swimming pool which saw plenty of action during our stay! It was a perfect size and depth for a five year old confident swimmer who loved jumping in and out of the water. The location of the villa meant that, despite surrounding villas nearby, the pool area was not overlooked at all. I would argue that you definitely require a car when staying in Peyia, but we knew that before we booked and driving is very easy for those used to driving in the UK. Lots of people seem to use the bus to travel between Coral Bay and Paphos, but not sure how reliable it would be to and from Peyia for the necessary supermarket visits and trips to the beach etc. The beach at Coral Bay is lovely and sandy and the water is fantastic for swimming, or generally just playing about in! We spent a couple of days at Aphrodite Water Park in Paphos which was very much enjoyed by all. The slides are varied and fun and the staff were all great with the kids. One nice innovation was that you don't need to carry any cash with you as any bills for food/toys were scanned onto a wrist band and you paid on your way out. We enjoy sea food and would highly recommend Ocean Basket in Coral Bay for well priced & delicious menu - the King Prawns are a must for any foody! Oniro By The Sea is also recommended for eating/drinking. It has a fantastic setting looking out over the sea caves and the ship wreck in the bay - perfect for indulging in a photograph or two! We took a very scenic drive to Latchi in order to hire a motor boat from Latchi Watersports. We chose that particular company as there was a discount for anyone staying in the villa. I can't praise the staff there highly enough, who were very friendly with a very high level of expertise. Would highly recommend this particular company for any boating needs, and the reefs there are simply wonderful for snorkelling. We had a couple of questions prior to travelling, and these were answered both promptly and in full. Both Gary, who cleaned the pool, and Louise who changed the linen etc were very helpful with tips and pointers to enjoy our stay. They were both very nice and friendly which again helped us to enjoy our stay. We all liked the atmosphere and friendliness of the local people and will definitely be returning to Cyprus in the future. Whether we will try somewhere new to explore first though remains to be seen. After a few years of staying at all inclusive hotels, we much preferred the villa experience. I would have thought this will be what we choose again for next year's holiday. Thank you Steven to you & your team for a simply wonderful experience!''

Review submitted by Peter from Plymouth (3rd time staying) (Submitted: 07/06/2016) ''Superb villa, well presented and well furnished. Level of cleanliness was exceptional. Good location, pool nicely elevated and private. Some good local tavernas within a reasonable walk but worth the uphill walk. Thankfully downhill on the way back!! Loved the Grande Cafe Bar in Peyia Village. Lovely guys and nice food. Good value. Enjoyed Phidias in Coral Bay. Loved having a beer sat at Potima Beach Bar. 4. Were you satisfied with the service provided by ourselves as agents (LetsRentOnline.Com)? Very pleased with your service. Locally, Gary and Louise are very helpful and professional.''

Ruth Vater Aug 2015

''The villa was superb, very clean, well equipped and very tastefully decorated. The pool and outside areas were also excellent. The villa was in a great location. We had been concerned prior to arrival that the area may not be as quiet as we like, but although there were surrounding properties the position of the villa meant that it was not overlooked, and we did not feel disturbed at all during the two weeks. The villa was only 5 minutes drive from Peyia centre, and also only 5-10 minutes drive to Coral Bay and the main supermarket, so it was very convenient for amenities. For food, the Peyia Tavern in Peyia centre was great if you like the traditional Cypriot fare – no menu but the meze was fantastic, and very reasonable. We also enjoyed meals in various restaurants in Coral Bay, namely Lekanto (fabulous meal, plus after dinner entertainment with one of the waiters performing card tricks/magic), Corallo (another delicious meal and friendly staff), and Kambana (wonderful steaks, melted in the mouth!). Regarding sightseeing, we really enjoyed the House of Dionysus in Paphos. The service provided by you was excellent. You kept us informed all the way through from booking to just prior to our holiday. You offered helpful hints, discount vouchers, always replied to our email queries promptly and efficiently, and after our return processed our deposit refund efficiently. The instructions for finding the villa were also very helpful. We did not see the owners very often. They greeted us a couple of days after our arrival, and came to service the pool on Mondays and Thursdays. They also came in to clean the villa after one week. They left comprehensive instructions within the villa so did not need to get in touch, but we had their numbers if we had needed them. They were very understanding with regards our departure home (we had a late night flight) and allowed us to remain in the villa until mid afternoon rather than insisting we left by 11:00 – we were very grateful for this. Everything was excellent. Many thanks for making this such an enjoyable experience.''

Review submitted by Jim from Aberdeen - (Submitted: 26/07/2014) As per usual villa stella was in excellent condition beautifully clean and welcoming. The location is perfect for us close to Peyia and coral bay but nice and peaceful. We would recommend Mandra ,The imperial Chinese restaurant, Posidenas to eat in Paphos, Also Chris Andreou in coral bay for a buggy or quad bike safari. The service provided by yourself Steven and your colleagues is excellent and is one of the reasons we book every year. Gary and Louise are very friendly and helpful ,just a really nice couple. You cant improve on perfection. Thank you again Steven for all your correspondence with regards to Villa Stella.

Review submitted by Lisa from Sale - (Submitted: 10/07/2013) Lovely villa, with everything we needed including wifi. The pool area was great with the sun all day and lovely views of the coast. The location was great, about a 20 minute walk into Peyia (quite uphill) and a 5 minute drive into Coral Bay. Because of the location of the villa the views are uninterrupted and the pool area is not overlooked at all. All restaurants and bars in Peyia, particularly Grande and Vrisi. Imogens in Kathikas is about a 20 minute drive away for lovely meze. Oniro is about 10 minute drive away for lovely views of the sunset. Yes. Booking process was very efficient and our deposit was returned promptly. The local managers were very good. The villa was very clean and the mid-stay clean and linen change was great.

Review submitted by Jim from Aberdeen - (Submitted: 17/07/2013) The villa was as last year fantastic, spotlessly clean and welcoming. The location is great ,beautiful views and short drive to coral bay, latchi and polis. The baker in peyia is excellent, the last castle is our favorite tasty food, fantastic views ,lovely people. The service from LetsRentOnline.com is second to none very accommodating and friendly. Gary and Louise are so friendly and helpful. Louise even texted me to thank us for leaving the villa nice and clean really nice of them. Lays crisps with the welcome pack ha ha mmmmmm Thanks again for all your help Steven, Kind Regards Jim .

Review submitted by Alan from Inverurie - (Submitted: 06/07/2013) The Villa was great, it was clean, airy, comfortable & has most things you are looking for. The Location of the Villa was good for us. We have done most things in the past, there are a few restaurants we have been to & have left the cards in the villa for others to try. LetsRentOnline.Com very helpfull & if there is anything we require we know you would be there to help. Locally, Gary & Louise were very helpfull & there knowleadge of the area is good & passed on the best places to go/see. Villa Stella was excellent!

Review submitted by Andrew from Sunderland (Submitted: 04/06/2013) The villa was very nice, well equipped and in a lovely condition. The location had lovely views out to the sea and in easy reach of the town centre. Yiannis in Kathikas serves a great meze and Viklari on the way to Lara Bay has a simple menu (Chicken or Pork) but it is cooked to perfection and with fantastic views.

Review submitted by James from Aberdeen - (Submitted: 24/07/2012) "The property was amazing, everything you need. The location is superb. We like quiet and out of the way so it suited us perfectly, there is everything you need in Polis which is only a 10 min drive and if you want more its too far to Paphos. There are some lovely restaurants and tavernas in Polis, try Finikas, Moustakallas and Chix Chos, all very good and the staff are very attentive. There are plenty in Latsi too but they are slightly more expensive. Take a drive up the Troodos mountains, the views are spectacular. The service provided by Letsrentonline.com was as usual very good!

Review submitted by Sandra from Eastleigh, Hampshire - (Submitted: 11/08/2012) "The villa was as good as in previous years - beautifully clean and well equipped. It is very quiet and in an excellent location. We all lead hectic lives and this is an ideal place for all the family to get together and just relax. We spent the day at Latchi which has a beautiful beach. The trip from Peyia is interesting over the winding roads with wonderful scenery. We visited the Last Castle near Peyia for the first time - amazing views and very good reasonably priced food. We also loved Agios Georgious - so pretty and the St Georges restaurant does an excellent fish meze. The Peyia Taverna also an excellent meze of traditional cypriot food. Very satisfied over the three years we have been dealing with LetsRentOnline. Gary and Louise were as helpful as ever - it wss like meeting with old friends. Andy and his taxi also as reliable as ever.

Review submitted by Kerry from Torquay- (Submitted: 07/09/2011) "We would just like to say what an amazing holiday we had staying at Villa Stella in Peyia, the property was beautiful a real home from home with the most amazing views and everything we could ask for to make it a very special, relaxing break. The location itself was just a short car trip to Coral Bay and Paphos for a lively night/day out with Peyia being quieter but with a few bars and restaurants in which we wiled away many a happy evening. The Last Castle restaurant does a great BBQ lunch with the most spectacular views, a bit of a bumpy road up there but well worth it. Suggest a day in the Troodos Mountains a long drive,I think we took the B road and managed to navigate through some authentic Greek Cypriot villages, but well worth it to see the spectacular countryside. Take a trip into Paphos which has a very pretty harbour area and visit Tomb of the Kings if into archaeology as you can really get close up to see everything. We would like to congratulate you for your very efficient, helpful service. This was the first time we had booked online and I must say you made it an easy process and helped all the way, always returning our emails promptly. The services of the local manager was great, we found him and his wife really friendly and very helpful with suggestions on places to visit and eat etc. The Villa was immaculately presented and very comfortable. We would certainly like to return to Cyprus and would rent the Villa Stella or another of your villas without hesitation. Thanks. Kerry and Dale.

Review submitted by Sarah from Henlow - (Submitted: 02/09/2011) "The property was lovely, everything you would expect from a holiday villa, very spacious, clean and modern with plenty of outside space and not overlooked at all. The location was fine for us. It could be a little remote if you didnt have a car and there isnt really anywhere within reasonable walking distance, but loved Peyia and lovely views too. So many to mention, but we loved the Peyia Tavern in the village for traditional Cypriot food and experience, Saavas grill on a Tuesday for the Greek dancing night, The Grande and The Brewery in Peyia, snack bars but very good. La Vigna the Italian at Coral Bay strip was excellent, all places up at Kathikas - Imogens Inn, Etc. The Last Castle on way out to Lara was lovely, very remote and traditional. We preferred Coralia beach as it was quieter, but the Coral Bay beach has very good waves! All the water sports were very well maintained and organised and well worth doing. The Aphrodite Water Park, good fun family day out. As an agent, you were very informative, excellent directions to property also. Gary & Louise were great too, Gary helped enormously over the lighting problems that we had, and kept pool very well maintained. We hope to book for next year soon.

Great Villa, Great Location. The views were fantastic, the furniture was all good quality and the villa has obviously been designed by someone with talent. Thanks very much. Be back soon.Mark and Sally Bailey, Essex, U.K, May 07
