Premantura is surrounded by nature not many places can boast of. South of the town is Cape Kamenjak – a protected landscape 9.5 km long, 1.5 km wide, with altogether 30 km of indented coastline. No place in the world is the sea so blue-green, so clean as here at the southernmost tip of Istria. There are plenty of rocky beaches, as well as pebbly coves. On a relatively small area there are 530 plant species and among them 20 orchid species, some of which are endemic.
Premantura’s most famous and stunning beaches can be found at Cape Kamenjak, which is also one of the best known and most attractive areas of the Medulin Riviera. Lonely Planet, one of the most respected tourist guides in the world, who listed Cape Kamenjak among the ten most beautiful beaches on the planet. This is definitely a good reason for you to visit it.
The best way to experience this unique landscape is in direct contact with nature. When visiting Cape Kamenjak, don’t miss its southernmost tip where a great attraction is jumping into the sea from high cliffs with torches. If you love high diving, the clear sea and steep cliffs will provide you with a full day of fun.
The cycling trails of Upper and Lower Kamenjak are one of the most popular in Istria. Ride on the medium-hard trail along the coast, which reveals all the beauty of grasslands, forests and the seaside. If you prefer sea adventures, head to the Školjić Cove.
Every spring Kamenjak holds the international mountain biking competition Kamenjak Rocky Trail.
Premantura is a unique experience, not simply one of the places to rest. Owing to the favorable winds it is ideal for water sports in summer, but also until late autumn. At the end of October the attractive meeting of windsurfers – Hallowind takes place. For those who wish to dive into the fascinating underwater world, there are many diving centers in town.
Premantura is a small town offering many surprises. Premantura is an adventure.

Alen
Private Owner From Ližnjan, Croatia Member since May 2019
Hi, I am Alen owner on two properties, one in Ližnjan and one in Premantura. Born in small town near Zagreb. I have strong interest in natural sciences and therefore earned master's degree in molecular biology. I have a wife and a kid. Currently I am working in primary schools as biology teacher. I moved to Istria and started to rent my proprety because I wanted to share to other people that feeling of living near the coast, crystal clear water and fresh air. I was atracted to this area because it is close to big city and yet far enough to have peace. And also there are many outdoor activities which you can do in your free time. Do you want to dive to a sunken scout cruiser, ride along 70 km of bike trails by the sea, go horseback riding through fragrant meadows with a view of the Kvarner islands or kitesurf in a bay of big waves? These are just some of the many activities that make the southeast of Istria an excellent choice for those who love untouched nature, sports and recreation. Cyclists, surfers, divers, lovers of horseback riding, kitesurfing, sailing, kayaking and many other sports and recreational activities will find here a peaceful green and blue oasis, free from the tourist hustle and bustle with many possibilities for active holidays. The beauty of untouched nature and the underwater makes the southeast of Istria one of the most attractive locations for diving and surfing, while cycling enthusiasts, as well as hikers, can enjoy its idyllic landscapes on numerous bike trails stretching along the shoreline. An impressive view of the Kvarner islands is complemented by holm oak forests, pastures and grasslands full of aromatic plants as well as the long rocky coast skirted by the crystal clear sea.
