Welcome to Villa Dolluca, Kalkan, Turkey
Villa Dolluca is a stylishly furnished villa in a tranquil and elevated position offering breathtaking views of picturesque Kalkan bay and of the surrounding Taurus Mountains.
Great attention to detail has been given to finishing Villa Dolluca (it is used as the owners' winter home) and as a result, we have had excellent feedback from previous guests. Please refer to the 'Reviews' page for further details. The villa is within easy reach of the regions historical sites and fantastic beaches as well as Kalkan’s wonderful array of quality restaurants (the village centre is a few minutes drive away or a 30 minute walk - FREE car hire is included on certain dates, please ask for details).
Because of the villa's elevated position, it benefits from being a little cooler than villas closer to the town centre and the views are probably some of the best you'll see in all of Kalkan. Villa Dolluca can accommodate between 2 - 6 guests (the 5th and 6th guests would be accommodated on the single-sized sofa / day beds in the living area or addtional single beds can be added to either of the spacious double bedrooms). The layout is pretty much 'open-plan', very spacious, light and airy. Please note: The villa is accessed by a number of descending steps - this may present problems for small children or people with walking difficulties.
About Kalkan Kalkan is considered to be one of Turkey's most sophisticated resorts and is fast becoming the country's premier resort for private villa holidays. It appeals to the more discerning tourist so if you’re looking for nightclubs and British-style 'pubs', Kalkan is definitely not the resort for you! Dalaman is the nearest airport to the resort of Kalkan - transfer time by road is approximately 1.5 - 2 hours. It is possible to reach the villas via Antalya Airport, however, the transfer time is approximately 3 - 3.5 hours. Car hire and / or airport transfers can be arranged - please ask for details. The climate in Kalkan is similar to that of Southern California and the sea water temperature rarely drops below 16°c allowing a bathing season of around 9 months. The resort also benefits from the 'Meltem' - a seasonal wind which brings a welcome breeze to the scorching summer afternoons! Average temperatures are as follows:
The town is situated on Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast and was once a simple Turkish/Greek fishing village. Today's Kalkan is quietly sophisticated and postcard pretty with a few good quality low-rise hotels, a selection of privately owned holiday villas and a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants offering all manner of culinary delights, together with a good selection of of stylish and atmospheric blues and jazz bars.
Unlike some other Turkish coastal resorts, Kalkan's main economy derives from tourism and consequently, its inhabitants put much effort and pride into the town's historic preservation. As a result of very strict building regulations and the efforts of the Kalkan Foundation, the town has retained its charm and special ambience. The wonderful hospitality of the Kalkan people is another reason why the first-time visitor invariably returns time after time. |
