Our 03rd floor duplex apartment is furnished to a high standard and has tiled flooring throughout. The front terrace of the apartment on the upper floor gives a view to the La Manga strip over the Mar Menor. This upper floor has a bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite. The main floor has a bedroom with a double bed with ensuite and another bedroom with twin single beds, sleeping a total of 6 people.
The Apartment also has a lounge, dining area, and kitchen. The property features an attractive upstairs sun terrace with views over the rooftops to La Manga. There is an off street parking space allocated to the Apartment. Outside the lounge area is a further balcony/terrace to catch the afternoon/evening sun.

Location:
The Costa Cálida is an extensive stretch of coastline in the Spanish province of Murcia, between the provinces of Alicante and Almeria. The Costa Cálida (Warm Coast) is approximately a 250 km stretch of Mediterranean coastline. The northern end of this coastline includes the Mar Menor ("Little Sea"), a coastal saltwater lagoon also known as the “Biggest outdoor Spa” which at around 170 km2 is Europes largest and is 7metres at it’s deepest. The water here has an average annual temperature of 18 degrees. The waters of the Mar Menor are renowned for their therapeutic qualities. This is attributed to a high concentration of salts and minerals. Studies have revealed high levels of Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium and Sulphate.

A swim in the warm waters of the Mar Menor can alleviate stress, help eliminate toxins and is also recommended for Rheumatism and Arthritis. It can also help heal wounds and skin conditions. Specialised Health centers and Spas can be found around the Mar Menor including the famous Mud baths at Lo Pagan. You will also find a new Spa at Los Alcazares.

The Mar Menor is separated from the Mediterranean by a 21km-long spit of land called La Manga.

CARTAGENA - The ancient city of Cartagena is located to the South of Los Alcazares and has one of the natural harbours in the world. It is ideal for a day trip conveniently situated a short drive from Los Alcazares. 20 minute Catamaran boat cruises are available around the historic harbour with recorded guide commentary in English and Spanish. These trips are run all year round with a reduced service during the winter months. Cartagena was founded by Asdrubal, a Carthaginian General in the year 223BC and called Quart-Hadash. It was conquered by the Romans in 209 BC and under their control was called Carthago-Nova. The Arabs called it Qartayanna. It was conquered by the Christians in 1245AD led by Fernando lll of Castilla. Cartagena became the first naval base in Spain in 1930 and remains so today. There are an abundance of restaurants & cafes located on the Quayside and all over Cartagena. Do take the opportunity to visit the fashion boutiques as well as large department stores, such as El Corte Ingles.
Cartagena is definitely worth a visit and has much to offer its visitors in the way of culture, food, shopping or even a leisurely stroll to view it’s historic walls and Roman remains.

MURCIA - The capital city of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia since 1982 but has been the capital of the Province since 1838 and is located at the river Segura. Its population is 422,861 (2007), and the population of its metropolitan area is 563,272, ranking as the twelfth-largest metropolitan area of Spain. It is surrounded by the Sierra de Orihuela and Cresta de Gallo mountains.
Murcia was founded with the name of Medinat Mursiya in A.D. 825 by Abd ar-Rahman II, emir of Al-Andalus. The Arabs, taking advantage of the course of the river Segura, created a complex network of irrigation channels that made the town prosperous and is the predecessor of the modern irrigation system. The Arab traveller Muhammad al-Idrisi described it in the 12th century as populous and strongly fortified. After the fall of the Caliphate of Cordoba in 1031, Murcia passed successively under the rule of Almería, Toledo and Seville. In 1172 it was taken by the Almohades, and from 1223 to 1243 it became the capital of an independent kingdom.
The Castilians, led by King Alfonso X, took it at the end of this period when large numbers of immigrants from north Catalonia and Provence settled in the town Catalan names are still not uncommon. In 1296, Murcia and the surrounding region were transferred to the Kingdom of Aragon, but in 1304, it was finally incorporated into Castile due to the Treaty of Torrellas.
Murcia flourished in the 18th century, mainly due to the boom of the silk industry. Many of its churches and monuments are from this period.


 

La Manga del Mar Menor (The Sleeve of the Minor Sea) is a resort town and is best known as the La Manga Strip. It should not be confused with the nearby La Manga Club resort, known for hosting numerous soccer clubs from all over the world particularly for pre season training for English Soccer Clubs.
The La Manga Strip is a strip of land 21 km long and 300 metres wide (average). La Manga means sleeve and it is a strip of land which separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor. It has many hotels, shops, bars, clubs and restaurants. One of the most popular areas with young adults is the Zoco area. There is just one road along the strip and naturally is at it busiest during July and August.
La Manga has more than 40 km of Blue Flag beaches which attract a lot of water sports enthusiasts and is highly recommended.
 

As apartment does not have a Lift, regrettably it is not accessible by wheelchair users. Cots/Cribs and High Chair can be hired separately from All in One Services who will have the item installed for your arrival. Full details available on request.

The apartment comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use.

The apartment has television dvd. The music system will play cds.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The beach is just a 5 minute walk from the Apartment. Bicycle rental available at nearby Plaza.

Wendy says: "Rented this property for a week in August with friends. We had a great time.The property is well equiped with everything we needed. The balcony was ideal for sitting out in at night or sunbathing during the day if we didnt go to the beach. The location was ideal for bars,shops restaurants etc. There are plenty of great eating places and bars in the main plaza area which is just a few minutes walk. The beach is great and only a five minute walk away. You can rent sunloungers on the beach for only 3Euros which was ideal. Would definately return to this property again."
